you can find me in ?chat=vancouver you can find me gooning around in trenchwars :D beware i am teh offensive terrier..username = kiegan WOOT I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY OLDSCHOOLER :D (made by sega in 1996/7 subspace was one of the earliest free games to be played online. Although..sega began to lose money to to bandwidth issues, it quickly became pay to play, which made the game collapse. sometime during the year 2000 sega released the source code, and people were quick to make private servers. People started making updates for it, hence the "Continuum", which is not an official name. In my online experience it is BY FAR the most international community that i have ever been a member of. Well..that of gunbound ![]() omgomgomg -------- Edit: Typo -------- Edit II: while were at it.. anyone here play TETRINET?!?

It's pretty skill intensive and a great time waster if you only want to play 5 minutes instead of a full 15 min bw game

Tons of fun, really. I was pretty good back in the day with spider (i think it was? the green ship that shoots bullets?) Havn't played in ages, but if this begins to build support from TL member, I think I would again ![]()

![]() I still log on every now and then when I get nostalgic and surprisingly I see some people I used to play with every so often. Pro League is still going "strong" somehow. By strong, I mean it still exists. EG/TW are the equivalent of money/fastest maps in BW. The pure game is so much better! I'm one of the idiots who actually paid for it in the late 90's when they tried to sell it. Apparently not a good idea after about 3 years of free play. It failed hard commercially.

I wasn't a huge fan of Trench Wars personally.. If I remember right, I liked the classic Alpha Zone as well. The PowerBall zone was kind of fun as well as it was utter chaos. Truly this was one of my favorite games and I tried getting others to get involved with it, but it never seemed to work out too well.

I'm playing in SSCU Trench Wars mostly, but recently I've been playing some other zones as well. This game is amazing considering how old it is, and that it is free. The community is quite good and now people are focusing more on helping new players getting into TWD, which is the competitive division of Trench Wars. There are several different divisions, either based on duelling (deathmatch style with teams with limited deaths) or basing which is basically capture the flag. If anyone is interested I'll personally help you get adjusted to the game and a proper squad. It takes about 1 minute to figure out most of the controls and then it's takes a lifetime to master them. Ask Alps as he has never gotten close to master anything in 8 years he has been playing!

That's totally not true >_> Trenchwar is just WC1 status, 1 bullet and that's all. In EG you still have the 1 shot kill of bombs which require the same skill as Trench, and you also get to use bullets while strafing, which adds another aspect. It's just more complexity in EG. I think you are talking about DragonballZ server or something where firing bullet does not cost energy

Oh and it sounds like you guys don't really know how deep the competition goes in Trench Wars. You guys have no idea how many people from other zones come in to "own" people, and only a handful has walked away with any titles. I know people who are really good at SVS that has failed hard at adjusting to TW despite making alot of effort.

I was such a troll on that game after a couple years.. lol. Started as a noob in TW, moved to SSZ for awhile, tried out Desert Storm and Halo, became the best at each and then quit, played some Hyperspace for awhile, Mystic Kingdom.. etc. Always came back to tw though, I loved playing jav in that shit. We should so make a TL squad. I've got a couple leet squads/names still I think.

I've played almost all the zones so I can also give comments on them: Trenchwars, 17th Parallel, A Small Warzone, Chaos, Alpha, Extreme-Games, Premier League, Hockey Zone, Death Star Battle, and a few others. I've also played in leagues in almost all of them (although only Powerball in the past few years). http://getcontinuum.com/ The replayability, like SC, is what really makes this game great. A lot of players have been playing for 8+ years now.

It would be great if there were some/more games like this that have been modernized though. I have for quite some time been interested in making some version of this sort of game on the SC2 engine (as well as Nox), but I was a bit too disappointed with the editor's capabilities (and/or features) to do this; one of the biggest issues was ensuring that there wouldn't be latency problems, but another thing that really turned me off was that I would have to use many "move unit to location" calls per second for each unit on the field just to get proper physics
