This completely ruins the game for me, I would rather just buy it for $20 instead of the dumb "chash shop". Also you can "boost" and all this other dumb crap(cash shop thing). Don't play it. Save yourself the hard drive space and time. you can pay $30 for VIP and get instant access to 5~ different classes immediately as well as a permanent xp boost...

It's super easy to unlock all the classes with the boost + gold you get and you get the other class unlocks really fast if you buy the VIP package. Although I can honestly say after having all the classes I probably play like 3 regularly lol. Basically if it doesn't have a spinfuser I don't like it :p

-this just might be the best multiplayer game in a long time (not counting sc2) -..that is: if they don't screw it up with the microtransactions or the skill system -damn I've been missing flying around and shooting explosive discs at people's faces! :3

Basically if it doesn't have a spinfuser I don't like it :p Even with the minimum $10 investment you can get 2 classes (one discount, one full price) and have the permanent boost making it easy to unlock other stuff. I'm normally super anti-micro-transactions, and in this game I really hate the XP grind part of it, but the class unlock I find to be really fair and generous and is a mutual benefit between us and Hi-Rez (They get money, we get a pretty good game for free or very cheap with the option to pay a normal box fee to have more or less the whole experience).

Every class has a scenario in which they are incredibly strong and one in which they are pretty weak. That's what makes this game cool and interesting. You probably think the heavies are too strong because you keep fighting them in close quarters and in tight spaces (situations where these classes are made for). If you were to fight them in large open areas you'd find that it's not that hard to dodge their attacks endlessly while still doing damage to them. I mostly play a technician and I get dominated by heavies pretty often but that's not my fault because I'm not the class that's very good at 1 on 1 combat especially in tight areas like the Generator rooms I hang out most of the time. Killing the heavies in the generator room is more sited for medium and heavy classes that have the ability to fight effectively in close to medium quarters and they should be the ones to worry about that. My class is really strong at keeping the base intact and finishing people off in the heat of the battle. As long as I do that I've succeed as an technician. You can't do everything and you gotta accept that, that's what the rest of the team is there for.

Who knew forcefields were as good in tribes as they are in sc2 lololol

I've put more than 50 hours into Tribes: Ascend I'm yet to see somebody/something die from a missile. So far only two missiles managed to lock on me and still dodged them by jetting to the side. If anything I'd say they are kinda weak.

The problem with the missile isn't the threat of it actually killing you. The problem is that it kills your mobility, messing up your routes and making you an easier target for others to kill.
