If you didn't like Darksiders I, you will probably not like Darksiders 2 either. In it's core, it is pretty similar. Beat stuff up using combos and dodging stuff that hits you with jumping puzzles in between. It has a few more Diablo-like elements in it with a talent tree and randomized gear and Death is a bit more agile then War, which shows both in his fighting style and the jumping puzzles. But after all, it is still very similar gameplay. I liked both, but if you didn't like 1, you probably won't like 2.

I've played E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy. It's a pretty cool source mod RPG.
The main problem with the game is that it is inaccessible. It's more than just polish: the game could use a better tutorial and better descriptions. First, the source mod was made by some French guys and so the translations makes the plot really confusing/non-existent. Second, it's often hard to figure out what is going on and where to go. Third, the game doesn't explain a lot of the important elements such as the skills, ways you research new abilities and upgrades, and stuff related to equipment. It's not that the controls are bad - it's all the normal Source stuff - but the menus don't explain much. It was even hard for me to figure out how to get the campaign started and save and load my character rather than loading up deathmatch/scenario maps.
If you are willing to work at figuring the game out by looking up things on the internet or messing around, it has some cool features. Missions can generally be completed in multiple ways so you can build your a character to your style. The differences in build can be pretty extreme: you can focus on FPS combat upgrades or sorcery-style abilities or hacking turrets/controlling people or whatever. There are a lot of upgrade and build choices with how you want to spend your resources, which is cool if you can figure out what they are.
Last few notes: I played the game with a friend which is obviously more enjoyable.
The game has been patched extremely rarely. That means there isn't likely to be any additions or improvements to the accessibility. However, I can't even remember any bugs that bothered me so it's not like it's unplayable.
This gamespot review is actually quite accurate. I think a couple of the things mentioned on the second page have been patched/changed but it's on the mark.

Fuck, do they repeat sales at the end like steam? $11 Sleeping Dogs seriously too good...

Go buy The Walking Dead.
Seriously it is one of the best games in a loooong time. Sure, it's basically an interactive movie but my god when these Interactive movies are done well (Walking Dead, Heavy Rain) they are amazing.
Seriously great game...

Any good RPG's this go around yet? I'm not home from work yet and steam browsing on phone app is less than ideal.
For reference recent games I loved:
Skyrim DarkSouls PTDE
Recent games I didn't like: DarkSiders

Knights of the Old Republic- $2.50 Knights of the Old Republic 2 - $2.50 Witcher Enhanced Edition - $2.50 Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition - $12 Fallout 3: GOTY - $12 Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition - $18 Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition - $15
And those are just in the top 100 best selling list. Would recommend any of those and I'm sure many here would as well if you're an RPG fan
Edit: Others Fable Lost Chapter - $5 Fable 3 - $25

Both KOTOR games are on sale for like $2.50 each Witcher Enhanced Edition - $2.50 Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition - $12 Fallout 3: GOTY - $12 Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition - $18 Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition - $15 And those are just in the top 100 best selling list. True. The newer Fallout games are basically postapocalyptic Skyrim, the Witcher games are far less open, but have a much deeper storyline. All very good games, and definitively worth those prices.
Another thing i would suggest is taking a look at mods for Skyrim, those can really revive the game. Many can completely change how the game is played. I just randomly installed Requiem and a few other things including a mod dealing with exposure to cold a few weeks ago, and the game was completely different which made me play quite a lot of it again.

Have anyone tried the restoration mod for kotor 2? If it works I might buy the game again.

While it's similar in combat, I couldn't really get into Darksiders 1 but I just bought 2 during the sale and I'm loving it. I'm not very far but I love that they added fast traveling out of dungeons, a talent tree, and most importantly, items! Ya there were items in Darksiders 1 but the fact that you find upgrades along the way and the different stats on them makes itemization fun and adds diversity.

I got Darksiders 2 last week and I'm liking it a lot so far. What I can say about it is that it combines elements from God of War, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Zelda, Diablo, and even Portal, but I don't think it does things as well as those titles. Still, it does things well enough to be enjoyable. Many dungeons have similar structures, find main room, then find 3 different things in the side rooms. It can get stale over time, but it is impressive visually and if you liked Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, you can do a lot of running up and along walls which is very neat. The combat has a lot of variation with the main and secondary weapons and it feels good.
My main complaint is that the game doesn't really like you going outside the box. There are a lot of invisible walls that prevent you from going to places you might be able to get to by jumping. The walls are designed so that there are specific ridges where you can hold on to and running up random walls won't get you very far. I would have liked it to be more like the jumping puzzle in Guild Wars 2 where you could jump on almost anything and the solutions weren't so obvious. But that's my preference.

Anyone have an opinion on the Two Worlds series?
Two Worlds 2 is on flash for $7.50, looks like it could be a decent rpg. I'd be curious in some TL opinions.
|
Two Worlds 2 + Expo was on Sale for 5 Rub (0.16cent) by mistake couple days ago. Try to trade for it. You will get it way cheaper. And yes, its a pretty solid RPG. Crafting-System is awesome and if you play a Mage you can create and combine your own Spells, its pretty awesome.
I traded Nuclear Dawn for it. If you have something I have a Copy left. ß

What about Rage or Dead Island, any comments on any of those 2?

I'm wondering about this too. More specifically, is Dead Island still fun if you're playing single player?
