When in doubt, you can also just go to the crown in the center of indar, there is always something going on there eventhough fighting for it is technically pointless  | ||

They said they're trying to address this issue. There's tons of people playing but the fights are so spread out it's hard to find one sometime. You're better off just going with a friend and capping random shit. You'll draw attention eventually. | ||

They said they were tuning up the XP gain, but they actually tuned it down, e.g. checkpoint conversion. Cert gain rates also went down (needed xp per cert up from 250 to 500). Station Cash seems unavoidable now. I was gaining XP like a madman for 6 hours yesterday, rampaging around, until we rather easily got the Crown and I was lucky enough to deploy my AMS up there, XP rained upon me every second and I continued killing repairing resupplying healing nonstop for 4 hours; in the end I got out with 50 cert points... I mean, as medic, the AF-14 is 50 certs, another 50 forward grip, 15 reflex sight, 50 hard ammo. okay, fine, but that's hardly all that's needed. Medkit needs 50, revive grenade needs 200, Regen-device skills maxes out after 146, medical applicator after 345, nanoweave armour after 606 (!). Oh, and these universal certifications like nano armour needs to be bought for every class separately... Want a decent weapon as Heavy Assault ? 250 certs, plus addons. Want an RPG? 725 certs. Want anti vehicle weapon as MAX unit? 725 certs. PER ARM. I guess I could rake in 200 cert points per week with my online play times. Sure, I could do that and after 5 years I'd have a decent set of weapons for 2-3 classes per faction. I could also just dump $2 for these 200 certs. $7.25 for weapons might not even be too much, but the fact that you need to spend this amount multiple times in combination with the almost non-existing cert gain really makes this game look like a P2W. I'd be happy to make PS2 my home MMO and spend 5-10 bucks on a monthly basis for a couple of years on it if I could unlock stuff in rather uncomplicated ways, and that would probably cost me more money in the long run, but this F2P model with the strong aspect of "pay or suck for at least year" doesn't feel right to me. | ||

Map: Press ESC, press the button "Map" on the bottom. Then you scroll around and look at which areas have which color (Blue = NC, Red = TR, Purple = Vanu). You can't do much on the map, it's mostly information for you about which areas need capturing and where you need defense. You can place your mouse over hexes to get information like (don't remember exact wording) "No action" (no opponents, i.e. nothing happening), "Base infiltrated" (small amount of opponents), "Enemy platoon" (lots of enemies) above a small display of the influence, which is usually not of much use. Blinking areas indicate that something is happening there, though that's not too reliable since it could have been just a few guys that aren't in the area anymore when you arrive. To get vehicles, you move to a vehicle terminal that are in every base, though not every base has every terminal. There are several kinds of terminals for different vehicles, you know which kind of terminal it is by looking at it's display: Rifle => Thats an infantry terminal, you can get a MAX suit there (Armored suits with 2 weapon arms, can't capture points). No vehicles. Planet => Thats a continent terminal, you can go to different continents that way. No vehicles. Bus => Flash (quad bike, cheap but mostly useless unless you want to get to a nearby place quick), Sunderer (Troop transport, can be upgraded to a spawn point with certs) Tank => Lightning (Quick but not that strong tank) and depending on the faction a main battle tank (MBT). Small airplane => Liberator (3-man Bomber) and faction depending air superiority fighter. Big, bulky airplane => Galaxy (Flying troop transport) Just move to the front of the terminal, press E and you'll see the different vehicles you can get at this terminal. To capture a point you have to somehow get to the base, then you can see on the minimap points marked as A, B, C, ... Just move to them as infantry and stand near them, a bar will appear on your screen indicating the capture progress of that point. Then you need to hold it for some time until the base flips over. If there is a green square around the point on the minimap, your faction is already holding this point. If it's blinking, you are losing control of that point.
