This makes 1v2's and greater seem undoable; it requires them all to have their back turned on you or something. You can't land 2 quick headshots and kill your opponent. It also makes 1v1's feel like a mundane trade. ... And most of my unfavorable experience stems from these basic concepts. The combat seems really calculated, and whether you win or lose is a factor of armor class, number of people, and who shoots first. Although I agree this mechanic works in sort of a larger 'meta', it seems to remove individual skill. I was in beta very early, and maybe some of this has changed, or maybe it was a noob factor in me, or something else, but does anyone else feel this way? I would be thrilled to hear otherwise; I can only wish this game the best. People said this sort of stuff about PS1, things like "no headshots means there's no skill", but they were completely wrong. In PS1 at least the skill was all in assessing your situation, knowing what to do, where to go and predicting your opponent's course of action. Also using the strengths of your weapon and the weaknesses of his (Hordes of NC shotgun users tend to TK a hell of a lot in close quarters). Not to mention how it really promoted teamwork. Don't fight straight up 2v1s? Fight the 2v1 as two separate 1v1s. Well, PS2 seems a lot different from PS1 so who knows, it has headshots now btw.

Must suck to be a big Planetside 1 fan right now since PS2 is a really big cow and November is the slaughterhouse. Whats the problem with the game? I have been playing it and loving it, having no issues personally O_O.

I have hope though, programmers do optimization last because it tends to make the code messy and changes harder. I get between 20 and 40 FPS depending on how much is happening around me, though my PC is 3 years old and not exactly top of the line.

I don't know that much about Firefall, but from what i understand, completely different games eventhough both call each other MMOFPS. Firefall has a PvE element, Planetside 2 is completely PvP, not a single NPC on the map. Also, planetside 2 has vehicles as an integral part of the gameplay while Firefall doesn't seem to have those.

If I am having this much fun even though I get dropped about once an hour, there is little balance, and most of the features aren't even in it, once it's polished, I think I'll be playing this game for years.

You really feel like you are in the middle of a giant war. I am so excited about this game because it has so much room for improvement. That's exactly how I feel! I've logged about as many hours into it now and I'm just having a blast. My bf3 team recently made a PS2 team aswell and it's just so much fun squading up and playing together with a couple of other guys you know. Only thing I hate is the darn skyguard. God damn I hate that piece of junk!
