Smedley confirmed this on twitter and said they're just going to leave it because not too many people grabbed keys. http://twitter.com/j_smedley/statuses/234048746218987520 Anyone able to confirm? I activated one on my account but haven't bothered to try because I thought it was only for the weekend lol. I'll update you guys when I get a chance to try it. Yep it works, tobad the client is so unstable you risk dcing every 5 minutes. I got one but stopped playing because there is no point in testing a game where you can barely get to a fight before it kicks you off again.

Beta have been slightly unpolished demos for way to long now. Yep, and most of the game's features aren't in just yet. Stability first. I actually kinda enjoy participating in a true beta, despite the bugs. As to the person who asked about the NVIDIA keys, yes mine worked instantly. I'm not sure if they'll last past the 19th (which was the day they were set to expire according to NVIDIA) though.

Well believe it or not this is part of helping them test things. When you crash to desktop it sends them crash logs of what happened so they can review and compare with other people crashing and find the problem. You're not in a real beta test for your enjoyment and entertainment. You're in it to help them fix these things. It's not a demo labeled as a beta like every single other so-called beta these days.

Haha you realise there is a difference between testing a bugged client with a lot of issues and literaly not being able to stay online for over 5 minutes. I dont mind testing there game for em and i know not everyone is suffering from this but i have better things to do then test there login servers all day.

Then maybe you shouldn't sign up for beta tests or not try to get into them. Maybe you should wait until open betas or actual release if you have better things to do than actually help test a games stability, crash issues, bugs, etc. etc. This is why companies do demos disguised as betas now because of people like you. People not fully understanding what a alpha test or closed test actually means and the effort they have to put in to help. You literally not being able to stay online for over 5 minutes is actually helping them test.

I don't think many other people are having that kind of issue-- I seem to only have one to three crashes per play session, at most. But hey, thanks to the wonder that is beta testing, now the fact that this issue is affecting people like you has come to light and they'll be able to assess the source of the problem and fix it! Pretty cool stuff, eh?

Pretty cool stuff, eh? had many crashes , but its a true beta of a large scale open world battlefield. its still super interesting to play and having a true beta again is nice too as weird as it sounds. last time a beta i was part of was at such a "early" state was yeeaars ago. it has its charm even with "betas" like dota2 giving you basicly the full game a year early.

The trailers are looking solid as well, seems they managed to keep the feel of planetside. Hopefully this wont change as we get closer to release.

Took a quick picture of the dudes and dudette in costume outside of the planetside booth at gamescom had a lot of fun testing it out though you can't really get a feel for the game in the short time allowed especially with such small numbers of combatants (It was like 10v10v10 within the area of 1 facilty or something) I was basically running riot killing people who seemed to have never played a fps before in their lives. ![]() I did get given a badass TR dogtag though which i'm happy about!

They have managed to fix a lot of the crashing bugs. The game is much more stable now to the point where I can play for four hours and not have the game crash once. Obviously it still crashes occasionally, even finished games do, but it is definitely stable enough to not be annoying any more. SOE seem to be fixing bugs pretty quickly when they pop up.

Yep i have been having a lot of fun since there last big patch. My only real problem with it atm is that there are really no battle lines atm. Being able to cap any sector anywhere is kinda meh but from what ive heard there working on overhauling the entire capture system.

This forces there to be combat, instead of constant and unremitting back-hacking. Not to say backhacks aren't good, but if you can cap anything, at any time, it tends to spread the player base a bit much. As is, there may be a few to many structures on a continent... We'll see I guess. I think it mainly has to do with the amount of people in the beta. I think it's maxing out at around 500 people when the continent is designed for 2000. There also isn't much of a command structure at the moment so you get people going and doing random stuff like back hacking bases next to the enemy warpgate. I think it will probably become much more stable as time goes on and people organise better. Once that happens there will probably be much more of a front line and back hacking will be significantly harder.
