But I tried that. there was a region with one control point, I went there, filled the first bar (that apparently takes it from the enemy), and then filled the second... but the region was still under enemy control. Perhaps this is a bug? After you fill the second bar you capture that control point. Then at the left side of your screen a progress bar appears for the region (the other one is for the control point). once that ticks to full you capture the region.

Yep got in thru the Nvidia screwup yesterday but the game is highly unstable. Sometimes it works fine for 30min and then you crash every minute.
Its highly fun tho. Was part of a defence of a biodome that was under major attack and had a blast.

1) Player Owned bases - we plan on releasing continents that are empty or partially empty where players can build their own bases. These are open world bases so others will be able to attack them. We're also planning on having these continents heavily resource based with new resource types that will be very rare..and lots of cool new stuff that can be built out of these new resources.

Twitter, Planetside Universe, PS2 Reddit page. They'll announce when they lift the NDA, though not sure if that will happen while it's still in beta. If they get to a point where they don't mind everyone showing whatever they want from the game, then that's basically almost release, so not sure how it will go.
Edit: Actually just read this unrelated tweet by Smedley that makes it sound like they will lift the NDA before launch.

Not really....the beta only utilizes one core and it runs fine on my 3.2 Ghz quad....or at least it did until the patch this evening.
At least they patch frequently, so the issue should be fixed.
EDIT: On low, the game looks like Halo. Halo: Combat Evolved.

WTFFF I was certain I had registered for the beta ages ago when I first heard about Planetside 2 coming... checked my mail to be sure, and NOPE, I had NOT >_<. I would assume my chances to get in are actually zero now, but I'll register nontheless 
EDIT: Or maybe I did.. seems like the "Take a survey" will come up every time even if you've already done it, and they don't send you any mail at all. Surprising.
EDIT2: Phew, found that I just had an old email connected to my station account, I did register on time and I had simply missed the mail which says they added the survey. That's a relief.

if i buy the pcgamer uk mag when will i get into beta? i paid way more for betas before so seems to be worth it.
i registered for beta in december but seems like nowadays most keys just get thrown out by luckbased twitter/fb thingies and the 5$(?) for the emag seem like nothing compared to hours of camping sites.
also best/easiest way to buy it?

you can buy pc gamer uk mag digitally, I did it through Zinio, there are other apps that carry it as well. You need to forward by email pcgamer with your receipt and they will hook you up.
PC gamer keys have not got in to the beta yet, i don't know when they will
