Post production magic goes along way. Your going to have your hopes crushed if you expect this game to live up the hype.

I don't see why you would say that. This game does look epic, and if you thought that BF2 and its offspring were amazing I can't see you feeling this one is worse. The only questionable thing I've even seen is regen armor, which as a previous poster said I'll just have to see in-game.
Looking forwards to this epic installment in the series.

Well I say that after having played the Alpha and being terribly let down by what appeared to be a MOH 2010 sequel and not a battlefield game. Maybe conquest will change my mind or the game will be rebalanced drastically between the alpha and beta but right now I think I'll probably be playing RO2 and whatever fast paced arcade FPS is good(CS:GO) instead of BF3.
how do you play bf game and not play conquest, also bf 2 to 3 should be heavy in the usage of tanks, jets, choppers etc. something you don't get from a mw or moh game as bf 3 should be like bf2 in that it's about team work not solo killing 10 ppl like you can in mw or cs.

Like I said rush mode felt like MOH with its damage model, weapon handling, level design, and de-emphasis on teamwork. Conquest could be a different but the infantry combat would still feel like MOH or HC BFBC2 just without the choke point heavy maps unless they remodel weapon damage and handling.

I played the alpha to and medal of honor and didn't seem that similar to me I mean the rush map was kinda bad but I don't like rush mode in general but I liked how it played out and everything ^^.
Good day Battlefield 3 thread! I am interested in pre-ordering BF3: Limited Edition, however I can not decide where to purchase it from! Any suggestions? I live in the UK!
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks much! mirome

Q:Will the Co-op MP unlocks be available in MP aswell? Or do we need to play Co-op to unlock those? A:You need to play coop.
Q:Will there be anyway to communicate via voice chat with other squads other than your own squad? A:Voice chat is by default all team. You can then pick channels.
Q:Is BF3 using vertical or horizontal FOV A:Vertical. That let's players have consistent fov setting no matter their aspect ratio.
Q:Has kit cutomizing been changed since alpha? A:Yes kit customization has evolved.
Q:Alan, regarding weapon's damages and recoil, have they been modified since alpha trial? A:Substantially. Not a single gun is unchanged. And not a single gun in the beta will be the same at ship. Balance feedback!
Q:will we have at least one sniper rifle that can shoot through helicopter cockpit glass? A:Yes, sniping the pilots is still possible.
Okay, I've never really gotten into this series, I've loved MW since COD4:MW, played it a lot and after that I bought MW2 and it also was a great game, but I skipped Black Ops (Infinity Ward stuff, didn't wanna buy) and MW3 seems too much like "been there, done that". I want something new, and wonder if I should preorder this or not. I've checked some gameplay vids, and graphics are amazing, sound effects are some of the best I've heard in any game but I have doubts about the gameplay.
I have always loved running and gunning, and I've tried that at BF Bad Company (like 3,5 years ago?) and that game had relatively clunky controls and such for that. While vehicles are cool and feels like "battle", I don't like going around and getting roflstomped by a tank shell or artillery while I'm trying to do other things. So my question is, will the gameplay allow running and gunning as much as acting as a team player with vehicles and as such?
I'm not expecting mindless run n gun either, I'm fine with completing objectives during game too and I love it, it's just that when I played Bad Company, the size of map and clunky controls+ vehicles being really important kinda made me bored.
I think so Bleak, I don't see any but the most picky in terms of wanting the game to feel like an older Battlefield title not enjoying BF3. I mean since your used to CoD and I have MW2 and Bad Company 2 I would say you should be kinda used to how the game feels since I personally think they both kinda feel similar except you get way more close up interaction in MW2 then BC2. Have you watched some of the alpha footage yet? That should give you a good idea to how it will be, it looks like Bad Company 2 kinda as far as movement stuff but like 100 times more clean and realistic. Here's my favorite alpha footage, its from a month ago.
I really want to buy this game but everything that surrounds this game sounds terrible. The game itself is badass, but the fucking origin, terms and condition where they have spyware on your computer, the website browser bullshit.

Heh exactly my thoughts :/
Hell i would not buy Diablo III in the same circumstances. However im sure it will get cracked multiplayer and then i will play the SHIT out of it. Like all the call of duty's.
Just wait for the open beta. The EULA shit has been debunked countless times, if you run steam and are worried about origin you are just misinformed. By alpha accounts the way you launch games is actually far better than it sounds on paper, though I still have my own reservations about that.
Can't really say on whether or not you setup will run the game super duper well Bleak but that's because I'm a total dumb-ass when it comes to all that, in fact if you go back a few pages I was asking the exact same question to some other (much more tech savvy) dudes in this thread. lol I will say your setup is a few steps ahead of mine and they told me I should be able to play okay on a low resolution with all the fancy stuff turned off so I bet you could do okay. Since everyone just knows of the alpha they don't know the exact system requirements.

I figured I'd check out BF2 since BF3 is almost out since I never have flown jets or anything on the game and I don't wanna suck right out the gate, so I bought the complete collection pack thing from Origin but I can't figure out how to use or find any of the 3 expansion packs it supposedly downloaded in the main download (only one no separate downloads). I log on and play multiplayer and stuff but I can't figure out how to find or use the other 3 expansion things can someone fill me in? The internet so far has failed providing me information that apparently only my blessed TL community members have the brains to explain. Sometime Google is just fail. lol
