lol thanks, I was just interested in your cpu/video card/ram. Anyway, thats a pretty good comp, why would it only run it on low settings? I have an 8800 GT/4gb ram/quad core Q6600 cpu, I was coping to run BF3 on atleast low-med.. Now I'm thinking of upgrading to a GTX 560ti or radeon 6870

LOL that's totally fine. You don't run your monitor at 1920x1080 right? 1280x720 is still perfectly fine and will fit your screen. You really shouldn't have any trouble running this.
Edit: I saw that you ran it in a lower res for BC2, for some reason had it in my head that you were trying to run things at 1920x1080. Anywho, your hardware isn't the problem. Update drivers, clean system, etc

Lol yea I just copy and pasted since I have that all in a file sorry so big but can you explain Risen did you mean do I run my monitor on 1920x1080 and that's bad or don't run game resolution on that? Because I do run that on my monitor but I don't run that on the game. Would turning my monitor to a lower resolution make stuff work better for me instead of just changing in game resolutions? Sorry if questions sound dumb but I'm honestly kinda new to computer stuff. :/ edit-I haven't ran defrag in a while but I recently air dusted my rig out and yes I always update drivers when I see an update available.
|
No worries, but the answer is that while it could be causing problems, I wouldn't expect a massive change. Are all your drivers up to date? And when was the last time you ran a defrag/cleaned up your system? It could be something as small as the drivers, or it could be something more. I'm not saying you can go high, but you should be fine running low specs with that system at a lower resolution.

here, run this: (choose battlefield: bad company 2)

I ran the system requirement thing and it showed I surpassed recommended so I think I'm just gonna run defrag, do a full system scan with my system virus etc Norton thing and try lowering my monitor resolution. Figure one of those things will do the trick. Thanks for showing me that tool I wasn't aware of it.

um don't forget it was an ALPHA. It wasn't optimized or anything. You can probably play just fine on a duel core just not max or anything.

do you think if I got a gtx 560ti my Q6600 would bottleneck it?

Yep, Q6600 is very old tech. Even my i7920 will probably struggle

Regenerating armor? Idk. I think I'll have to decide how i feel about that after I play it. I like the example they provided but who knows if that's how things will play out in game. Vehicles are already pretty spectacular.

I already pre-ordered the game on origin before this pack was announced as a pre-order incentive. I'd better still get it.

There is honestly no difference between EA's EULA and steam's privacy policy and I'm sure every other client out there. If you just don't want to use yet another client I'd understand that though.
It kind of makes me angry that someone quotes a section of a EULA and it becomes a huge scandal when it's not even different from other clients. Easy hits for a website though

Easy hits for a website though I think what bothers me is that the people saying they won't buy it because of the EULA stuff, probably use facebook which says the same stuff in their EULA.
On topic though, I CANNOT WAIT for this game. I pre-ordered and am waiting for them to announce beta so I can do my early beta testing!
