FAMAS is going to win you a battle against almost any gun if you can get your bullets on target, sadly at mid/long range that's not going to happen. F2000 WAS the gun of choice before it was nerfed a couple months back. It got a higher % of headshots because the first bullet would often climb and hit the exact same spot as the 2nd bullet giving instant HS kills. PKP is the best Support gun overall due to the highest non-sniper base damage and the lowest max recoil spread so you can really hold down mouse1 and let her rip. M27IAR very nice if you want more accuracy on your support traded for lesser base damage. M4A1 is the best engineer gun. A91 is the best hipfire engineer gun. M98B is the best bold action base damage 95. QBU88(karkand) is the best semi-auto sniper. (very accurate) ASVal or USAS12 for rungun sniper. -M320 Grenade launcher is OP and will be banned from league play soon. Perks(In order of what you should get if not already gotten): Sprint Ammo Dbl Grenade(gives extra 320's :D) Flak Explosives Suppression Cover Sights: Kobra is best giving you increased FOV. Reflex is 2nd and gives slightly more zoomed in tighter shots. Iron sights pop up the quickest. 8x for being a campy douche. 3.4x for being actually effective. You want the 3.4 by default. No scope glint is a big deal and this scope pulls up fast. Attachments: Heavy barrel sucks. Use the silencer or use nothing. If you use the silencer account at longer range for increased bullet drop. Laser sight gives your position away.(trust me)(to use this you must toggle it effectively which most people can't consistently do quickly) Foregrip is essential. Never leave spawn without it. Vehicles: You can stack perks on the tank. (driver=armor,gunner=prox scan,3seat=therm camo) Canister shell is the best, get good with it. (Bye bye choppers) You can place a medpack on the side of the Z11 or Littlebird while there is a pilot inside which will stay in place and heal you while flying. AAMTRAC has a #2 gun and built in smoke. -unstealable- Steal vehicles. Repair on his backside til he gets out to kill you then hop in his tank and kill him. :D Best Jet loadout: Air Radar, Extinguisher(learn to dodge missles noob), Rocket Pods Best Lil bird loadout(can you fly through the sewer under the building on canals?): Laser Painter, ECM Jammer, Guided also good is Stealth, ECM, Seekers Improve your rocket accuracy in the planes and chopper by using the upper case i to tell you the 'offset' on where it will land in correspondence to your reticle. Tweaks: Increase saturation(ATI) or digital vibrance(Nvidia) on your video card settings to make colors(enemies) pop out better. Play in your native resolution. All settings on Low except MESH which goes on ultra. You can record your games with minimal FPS lag using MSI Afterburner. It takes a lot of the stress of the eyes, everything pops out more, and makes it easier to go from lets say Metro to Canals (a map with a very annoying sunglare). | ||

The MESH on ultra I can understand though. I do recall low graphics giving some advantages in previous BF games (at least in BC2) like making enemies easier to seeand seeing through smoke effects easier etc but I'm curious if thats still the case. | ||

Everyone has to go through a stage of no-unlocks. My advice for tanks: go into strictly tank vs tank battles until you unlock coaxial gun, then you make very big leaps in your unlocks by killing infantry. Other option is to take up the gunner slot and just pick off infantry... it counts to your tank experience. | ||

Another way is to get in the tank ASAP, and start capturing points. 250 points in a tank to start is a great way to farm unlocks with vehicles, especially the AA one because most of the points you get from them are killing infantry and capping points, not shooting down air vehicles (I mean you could, but any competent pilot will dodge your missiles, and guns aren't the most reliable thing unless they fly straight towards you). Origin is down for some people, including me for now...hope they get it fixed soon. | ||

I would suggest LevelCapGaming or rivalxfactor. they have some good guides for people and also how to use weapons correctly etc. just stick to the suggested weapons like M16A3 and M4A1. To be honest all of the Assault guns are pretty darn good. Engineers just stick with M4A1 or A91 | ||

Necro, if your 0.20 KD as a sniper, perhaps you can consider moving more up. For me the optimum distance for me to play my sniper is 100-200m. This is the distance where there is practically no-little bullet drop, where i aim is where i hit. Thus my kill rates go up. However it also do mean im more exposed. But i counter that by not camping. I move about the map helping the team cover objectives that are being capped etc. One good thing about bolt action sniper rifles are their high damage, if the enemy takes the slightest damage from your teammates, a sniper shot into his body still gets you the kill. There's no need to "MUST" aim for a headshot at 100-200m. a body shot, or 2 will still kill someone. | ||

I'll defer that to Teivospy as he is the resident jet expert on TL, and wrote an excellent Youtube guide to fly past missiles. Air radar does not show missiles. I guess I'll have to learn how to fly jets competently someday, just need to know how to shoot, and press the trigger quickly. Should I switch my pistol (93R) to another one once I get my 5th service star, and start unlocking dogtags for another one, or keep the same pistol? Another rant, I dislike how mortar kills don't count unless you get the hit animation from the mortar being hit while in the mortar. I prefer to move my mortar after every shot to prevent from being counter-mortared, but even then it's hard because there's a white flash on your mini-map if you set-up your mortar in the first place. | ||

If you want to see what these tweaks (+add colorblind mode - it helps) looks like I uploaded a unlisted video. Filmed with afterburner (use RTV1 compression), and then I just shortned a clip in Vegas and rendered out as a (.wmv). If you record with afterburner, and you are having trouble seeing footage try a different media player (VLC does not work). Edit: Yes, there is K-POP. Deal with it.  | ||
