BTW, I also get those server timeouts. It's on the server's end I believe, so there's really nothing to be done about it. starting to question that. i got the some timeouts or disc from time to time before. but now i get it in more then half of my games. i have finished maybe 2 of the last 15 games i joined (sometimes leaving cause of obvious bad game/hack, rest discs). maybe something is wrong with my install? cause i think it started to happen that often after i installed my ssd + fresh windows 7. moved the battlefield folder to the ssd, hit install in origin and it instantly accepted the old install. could this have something to do with it? just reinstalling is not really an option since i dont have a dvd drive atm and dont have the installer anymore. so i would have to dl 16gb just to test... only other option i see atm is that the new server patch somehow fukked something up for me since thats the only other thing that changed during the day i havent played cause of new system setup. Actually IIRC changing my router really helped me out with disconnects. Maybe your problem lies there... would be weird since my router is unchanged since 2 windows installs back. but what do you mean by "changing router"? My old router sucked, so I swapped it out with a different one.

Mine is about 529. I play about 20% hardcore, 80% normal. Almost a perfect split between conquest and rush games. Of my 750 games, i've only played conquest metro maybe 8 times. (i avoid it like the plague because I want to keep my stats legitimate). I have some friends who are also completely legit (they play 100% rush) and they have just under 600 SPM. Imo, maybe as much as 70% of players who avg more than 500 SPM are conquest metro boosters. However there are other ways to easily get more than 500 SPM, none of which i like or condone. People who play on fast vehicle respawn maps can really dominate if they are a good vehicle driver to begin with. Spawning only when a tank or jet is available (which is easy to do if you keep on dieing with your vehicle) can rack you major SPM. Those players can get up to 700-800 SPM. If they are over 800 SPM, it is almost guaranteed they are metro spammers. Playing TDM can also boost you up a bit but not too much. A very underrated way people get super high SPM is to play conquest bazzaar only. Its not as good as conquest metro but allows for people to easily get high SPM while boosting that they dont play conquest metro. My guess for the cap for a completely legitimate player is about 750 SPM if they constantly play with friends only and always get ace squad ribbon and always win along with other benefits with owning with a squad such as better spawn positions. The key ribbon to really put you in the 600 SPM range is to get lots of combat efficiency ribbon. That ribbon is the most overpowered ribbon in the game by far. It gives you 500 points per ribbon + it only requires 30 to get your 10000 point medal. Once you get on a 5 person kill streak, every 3 additional kills essentially gets you 800 bonus points. Everyone I have seen and known that averages around 600 SPM have a buttload of those. I only have like 210 of them but i've been getting better at getting them. My friends who avg around 600 would have 400 of that ribbon in 100 hours of play.

Jets are really good to get points since you get 250 points per jet, a LOT of vehicle disable / destroy, a good number of points if you spam Q and the kill streak bonuses as you said IMO what you need to do is just be extremely mobile, difficult to kill and get a lot of kills. Jets are probably the easiest way to do that when you understand them

I really wish I had at least a fighting chance if a tank rolls in to take a point on conquest. heres some things you can do: - roll in your own tank - snipe them when they get out to repair - throw a grenade at it - get help from teammates - flying a mav into a helicopter/jet is instant-kill anyway im out of ideas.

If you want a class that has a fighting chance vs everything, try Engineer. Recon is strictly anti-personnel only.

But what exactly is offensive recon? I gave it a go with the L96 acog 4x, laser sight, straight pull bolt, and the g18 suppressed as a side arm. I started sniping and instead of my usual 200-300m headshots, most of my targets were between 100-150, though surprisingly you can shoot up to 200 relatively easily with 4x :O. I must be doing it wrong though, I was getting schooled by machine gunners and struggling to break even on KDR. Only when the teams were pretty stacked was I able to pull off some pretty good ratios.

It has many connotations. Some mean going up with your team with a shotgun or some other general weapon and using your motion sensor and whatnot to support your team as you push. I generally just stay back 50-100m with a low power scope and pick off people, however.
