The heli sniping video was pretty good, though draggy haha.it seemed appropriate because just last night I got my 1st ever heli sniping kill haha.wiped out a heli scout full of people by dropping the pilot.pretty darn fun.i still need to snipe a attack heli, for my personal achievements haha.they should make a award just for sniping people in a helicopter damn it haha

Sometimes if you come in at a little bit of an angle, it doesn't do the insta-kill. I personally get the insta-kill 19 times out of 20, so I couldn't say unless I saw you play. But if you're dead set on it, I noticed it always works if the other guy is prone and you come up from his feet. You'll also notice the blade of the knife will change position in your hand if you can get the insta-kill, signalling you to use it. As for heli-sniping: I noticed a lack of attack chopper snipes in that video (admittedly I wan't paying TOO much attention). Most of the snipes were scout and transport choppers. Can you snipe attack choppers? I've done the heli-snipe maybe 4 or 5 times successfully, all against scout choppers IIRC.

I did that once, some days ago out of pure luck. I saw the chopper hovering over the russian base on caspian while i was on the cliff by the A flag. I guessed the distance and never thought that i would really hit but then i got lots of points (Enemy down, Headshot, marksman bonus 715, stopped killing spree, i think i got over 1000 points for that kill) and i saw the gunner jumping out of the heli trying to save himself while the heli crashed. It was the most amazing and rewarding thing i have done in bf3. The other helis are easier to snipe because its easier to see where you have to aim. Although i never shot another pilot with a sniper rifle i managed to do it atleast 5 times with the KH2002 but the distance was never more than 150m. If you want to do it the "cheap" way you could try it on Wake Island. From the Tank Spawn location at C you can see the heli on the carrier and sometimes even people waiting for it to spawn. I guess its about 1200m away and you could wait for someone to enter the heli and then shoot him when he is about to take of.

I personally use the 8x, and i can say with absolute certainty each notch on the 8x scope refers to 50m. 12x seems to be 100m each notch? can some pro recon please enlighten me. I find myself using the 8x scope all the way regardless of distance i will be fighting at, because i can actually hit people's head within 2 shots with the scope and the notches. i cant use a 12x

I'm never good with guessing distances, but I believe your guess of 100m per notch seems about right.

I've recently uploaded new gameplay commentary to my YT channel. The match is on Damavand Peak and it was a very interesting game with pretty crazy comeback from our side. Losing by over 130 tickets (server was about 450 total) and winning in the end. Very close game. I discuss some useful tactics for this map, also speaking about the importance of the teamwork and team spirit. Video link: I hope you will enjoy the video. Have a nice day.

FAMAS - Enough has been said of the FAMAS already. It's got the recoil control and damage output to put it at the top of the "Awesome Assault Rifles" list, but personally I feel as though it's better for closer engagements (especially if you haven't unlocked anything past iron-sights, amirite?). In close engagements, it generally loses out to decent carbines, but that's the case for most ARs anyways. This gun is all over pub servers now... it's just so ubequitous that using it will keep you on par with the rest of the pack. L85A2 - My new favourite rifle! Does great damage at good ranges, and recoil is nothing (most of it's recoil is horizontal, not vertical, so foregrip is by far the best attachment for it). The only qualm I have about it over my previous "favourite" AR, the AEK, is that it has a lower rate of fire, which put you at odds against engies. But other than that, I can't find a single thing wrong with this awesome, awesome gun. Made the shitty rounds of Squad TDM I had to endure to get it worth while. G53 - My new favourite SMG! Good at recoil control, excellent range, and it combines so perfectly with a supressor, you'd swear they were invented for each other. It also fires surprisingly well from the hip. Rate of fire is the one drawback, but it's not much worse than most SMGs anyways, and still better than a few. QBZ-95B - It's decent as a carbine, but really nothing special. Handles much in the same manner as the G36C, recoil, dmaage, range, RoF... they're almost clones. I see so many people struggling to unlock it by blowing up vehicles with repair torches, it's quite amusing. Silly kids, don't they know equipment counts as vehicles in this case? QBB-95 - Terrible, terrible machine gun. So inaccurate and clunky and downright unpleasant to use. So many better options out there. I become publicly embarassed to be seen using or being killed by one of these. RoF is lame, damage is nothing special, range is horrible, recoil is all over the place. MG36 - Almost the polar opposite of the QBB. This gun kicks ass. Recoil is low, range is good, ammo capacity is great for a gun that handles almost like the IAR or some kind of assualt rifle/HMG hybrid. Reloading doesn't even take that long, which is a nice bonus. If I wan't so adjusted to the IAR/RPK already, it'd be my new favourite MG. QBU-88 - Like most semi-auto sniper rifles, not great for actual sniping. As a mid-range "Marksman Rifle" it works great. Stick a low-power scope on that baby and you're good to go! Rate of fire is good on it, and recoil is low for a sniper rifle. Just don't bother trying to camp some mountaintop or crane with it, because even headshots won't save you. Bullet drop on this gun only further reinforces the idea that it's meant for mid-range fights. It's like a better version of the SKS. L96 - I have trouble distinguishing between bolt action sniper rifles, and this gun is no exception. A headshot is still a 1-hit kill, and for me that's all that matters in a sniper rifle. Range and bullet-drop are seemingly similar to the SV-98 or M98B, sitting somewhere between the two. Honestly, it's nothing to shit your pants over unlocking. PP-19 - My new favourite PDW! Awesomely fast DPM, excellent range (for a PDW), and very manageable recoil are all bonuses, but this baby also has a nice big clip and just looks so cool to reload. Really good on short-to-midrange maps, like Canals or Bazaar. It's super-fast RPM means it beats out most carbines in close combat too easily. Very good gun, let no one tell you otherwise. MK3A1 (aka the Pancor Jackhammer) - I've used some shit shotguns before, and this one is right up there on the dung heap. It has good RPM, similar to the DAO, but it's range and damage are crap. It's an auto-fire gun that holds 6 rounds, so if you thought you got killed a lot when you were reloading your DOA, this gun is even worse for that (the DAO holds 8 rounds at least). To put this into context, according to my stats page: Shots Fired: 16; Accuracy%: 37.5; Kills: 0. I'm really in no rush to get those last 4 DPV kills... If y'all have had similar experiences with these guns, then I'd love some second opinions ![]()
