Maybe I could hit a stationary target, but hitting moving targets from far away is quite hard. I also have a ton of trouble actually finding people to shoot at in conquest mode since everyone is do spread across the map. I guess recon has a higher skill floor then the other 3 classes. Honestly it's one of those things that you just need to practice and learn naturally how high you need to aim for bullet drop at certain distances. I was bad at first, by the time I got to the last sniper rifle unlock I was nailing 250m HS on the 1st round with ease, moving targets with ease, granted they weren't zig zagging while trying to blow their head off <.< With that said. Learning good snipers spots with lots of open space and a natural or manmade funnel for opponents comes with the practice that I mentioned before. Theres lots of good spots on every map but I'm bad at connecting map names and actual maps so I can't really rattle off some good spots :/ without randomly naming spots you would have no clue about.

It is extremely difficult to play effectively in the helicopter against a competent team without some form of communication with your copilot. You need to adapt your combined modifications to the situation at hand each time you re spawn, in addition to being able to coordinate the use of your counter measures. You also need to be communicate with your gunner in order to respond to air threats, whether that be spotting them, or devising an angle of attack/retreat. You also need to be able identify and communicate with your copilot ground targets whether they be mass infantry, tanks, SOFLAMS or AA tanks. I would recommend finding a clan, or at least a group of online friends to play with, in order to optimize your chopper gameplay. That being said, as a solo pilot, the best thing you can do in order to excel is master your flying, as well as the tactics and strategies that you generally use. You really need a great deal of experience in the vehicle itself in order to really grasp these techniques, but three of the primary areas you have to be competent in is moderating your speed and movement in order to fit the specific situation you're in, developing a good aerial and ground awareness no matter you angle of view, and how to prioritize threats in the order of importance to the team's chances of winning. The numerous techniques that can be applied to specific situations are too myriad to list here but I'll give you my favorite method for taking out AAs without use of the TV or Guided missiles, at least when you aren't a super-experienced pilot. First of all, you want to locate the AA on the map, preferably marking it. Then, you need to fly low over the terrain, in an area where you are either out of the AA's LoS, or at distance far enough from it where it becomes difficult to accurately hit the helicopter. As you approach it, hide the helicopter behind the largest elevation in the area near it. It is then simply a matter of lifting the helicopter above or to the side of the rise , and releasing a missile and auto cannon salvo. Continue this process until the vehicle is disabled (or until a repair is attempted), where either two things will happen: the driver attempts to repair the vehicle, at which point you move in and kill him and finish the vehicle, or he remains inside it, and you remain behind the cover, and continue the process, or wait it out.

It's a matter of experience, there are no real shortcuts sadly ![]() Bullet drop also varies depending on the gun, with the M98B having the fastest bullet speed and thus lower effective drop over a certain distance. SV98: 520m/s, bolt time 1.25s M40: 490m/s, bolt time 1.1s M98: 650m/s, bolt time 1.3s L96: 540m/s, bolt time 1.1s With each of these you have to aim differently past ~100m or so, which can also make it harder to feel like yer getting a hang of it. I would suggest sticking with the L96 or M98B, the latter being my own favourite but I'll be trying out the L96 and the faster reload speed. As an example of experience giving consistency in accuracy at longer ranges, I'll relink my vid but start it at 1 minute. Edit: Having some issues getting the vid to appear in the post, so heres the URL

The fuck? ;-; quoted for truth. haha. my personal furthest headshot is only 500m+ .. my recon usually kill people at around 100-250m range, where bullet drop is limited. after i got my service star on my recon i was so glad to stop being a recon. its boring to the max. as to the guy on how to hit people, the only thing i can say is practice, and lots of it. each gun has different velocity affecting the bullet drop as mentioned, get a gun you like and stick to it. you will naturally improve, abeit slowly at 1st. i remember grinding my Recon Service star out with the 1st bolt action rifle, because i couldnt handle the new guns(not used to it) and didnt feel like capturing the feel back haha. I love playing any of the 3 classes, except Recon

That thing is a beast :s For me the SG553 was a bit of a letdown. I only played the boring coop to get this gun (since its a swiss gun) and when i got it, it somehow felt like the G36C. Add to this that its the only gun i have ever used in real life and was eager to compare it. So i was a bit disapointed, that it doesent sound at all like the real life version. EDIT: Right after i wrote that i checked the stats and its basicaly the same gun as the G36C. G36C has even a higher ROF and speed although not much.

But last night i wanted to play a bit to finally get some unlocks, so i put a ACOG on my MK11 and gave it a go. I was surprised how much fun (and how effective) sniping can be when you only stay at medium distance to the enemy and keep moving.

A semi-auto fine with a small scope for short/mid range fight but don't embarrass yourself in front of the whole server by putting a good scope on a semi-auto. Haha you have a point. The furthest scope that should be on a semi-auto i feel, is a 4x. should be sufficient to handle at the range your using the semi-auto at. i would run with a holo(1.5x) /3.4x with my semi personally haha.

I'm 100% sure I unlocked the zoom for the tank's main gun but for the love of God I can't find the button to zoom in, so I assume I must have smth else in place and would like to change it. There should be a vehicles tab next to weapons tab in the customize menu, I'm surprised how many people have trouble finding it. :d Absolutely in love with MG36 atm, feels more like an assault rifle with huge clip rather than an LMG.

Many people seem to think they are mandatory but I rather just go with lower recoil weapons and stay away from suppressors.

I actually love to put small scopes on bolt action snipers on small maps (bazaar, metro and some of the new maps), you don't get spotted right away and you can quickscope people from really close. It might not be the most effective way to play, but it sure is fun.
