His argument is: 64 player games are no fun because the vehicles die faster, flying vehicles are always locked on, random assorted chaos with explosions everywhere, etc.
The other argument is: 64 players is cool because vehicles aren't as OP but still have big roles, it's more exciting because you face more people frequently, it's more realistic to actual battle sizes, etc.
But in the end, both are sides to the same coin. Neither are so much arguments as they are preferences, and if there's anything I learned from the whole "how useful is Recon, really" debate that raged on here a few pages ago, it's that BF3 is awesome because it caters to many different preferences. You don't like 64 player games? Cool, that's why they invented Squad Rush/TDM... You like 64 player matches? Awesome, here's some Conquest Large and some big-ass maps.
In the end, what matters is that the choices are there for those who want to make them.
i explained my argument clearly in last post since I wasn't clear before sorry, but no what you wrote isn't it at all.
BTW: the lock on thing isn't really part of what makes 64p servers so terrible to play on, that was just something I commented on because it literally annoys me in terms of listening to it for 90% of games which last 30 - 60 minutes. so many beeps it sounds like 40 morse code machines transmitting a single letter over and over and over. ^O^
Well then, my response is that you should get over your dependence on air vehicles, considering you apparantly need to spend most of an entire 60 minute match in one

Nice jab
naw dude I prefer to play in jets, like you said its all about preference right? Well right now I think the game is funner and actually a battlefield experience when the population numbers are in the 40s or something. I only play 64 player servers when I want to lose my mind to beeps and inflate my K:D ratio

I did test with my buddy and thats definitely it, thanks for the info ^>^ I've been taking these out when I see them but now I will be looking for them if I keep getting beeped at :D

i explained my argument clearly in last post since I wasn't clear before sorry, but no what you wrote isn't it at all. To restate: the required amount of teamwork needed to take out vehicles between me and my friends diminishes as the server population increases. Thus it isn't fun for me

Why should (mostly) team independent vehicles require huge amounts of teamwork to take down...and how is having 5 engis spam AT mines all over control points not teamwork, in a way? You and your gunner is a team, but not necessarily require any teamwork. Any competent heli pilot and anyone with decent aim on the gun makes a great team, but hardly requires teamwork or any kind of ridiculous coordination. Two engis with Stingers swapping locks takes as much teamwork as it takes to hover over control points and let your gunner spam the crap out of it. If we're talking more advanced teamwork than that, like coordinating behind the lines drops of squad leaders and multi-pronged assaults with smoke, then vehicles get exponentially more powerful, and the teamwork required to actually take them down grows with it. How hard is it to take a tank down that is guarded and protected by his team(aka, has 4 engies hiding behind it, and sniper/assault cover)? Fairly difficult, as it should be.
All more people in the server does is allow for more "right place at the right time" moments, instead of actually having to physically coordinate everything.

Just recently uploaded another gameplay commentary to my channel. This time I'm playing on Strike at Karkand map and the game mode is Conquest Assault.
I'm quickly going through my first impressions about this map as well as this new game mode and also make little review of the FAMAS assault rifle.
Final score is 27-9 in just under 10 minutes.

how is the number of people irrelevant when the number of vehicles stays the same? You saturate the game with so much infantry that vehicles are literally nonfactors since they're countered easily so you don't need to use planning ever. Like the only teamwork that i've seen when I've been on the ground is to literally just fire an RPG with the 2 other engineers there and hope you get the kill. That kinda pales in comparison to me and my buddy jet coordinating rocketpod strikes / gun runs when our friends ask for it when they push up a point since they can't do it without us. IDK so far we haven't had to do that when the numbers get above 50, so personally I get bored flying around and getting beeped at
I suppose Bazaar and Sienne can work since those aren't vehicle maps but I don't play infantry maps that often
I was just complaining because I seriously listen to beeps 90% of 30 minute long games in 64p servers. Half of the lock ons don't even go off since I assume they get killed while focusing on me. its just HIGHLY annoying just listening to beep beep beep beep beep beep beeeeep beeeeep beeeeep beeep beeeep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
Also air radar is like the minimap in starcraft, you actually need to have it all the time in its current form (although its annoying because its bugged and not currently showing friendly jets)
From my own personal experience I find that the larger maps (Caspian, Kharg, Firestorm, Oman, Karkland, Wake and even Canals to an extent) scale fairly well with numbers. There are more engineers gunning for vehicles but I've found if I roll in a tank around my teammates I live a lot longer, probably longer than I would if I were in a smaller server. There is very little that I'm worried about sitting in my tank or helicopter and on my minimap I'm surrounded by blue triangles. I keep enemy tanks and vehicles off their back and they make sure enemy engineers who take pot shots at me pay with their lives.
The only times I've felt like 64 players maybe a bit much is when a tank or another vehicle rumbles into an enemy held control point on their own and is swiftly dismantled by the large number of engineers all going for the free kill. But that tank keeping his distance and advancing with his infantry? Virtually unkillable without a SOFLAM.
Maybe its different for you since you've got friends with whom to play with, and if 48player servers or smaller is your cup of tea then more power to you. But as a player who mainly plays with pubs 64 players on big maps is like a magic number. You have just the right amount of people doing their thing that it creates this ad hoc sense of teamwork. Its like critical mass in a nuclear fission reaction, and just like a nuke, when all these things come together the result is pretty epic. The game just sort of develops its own gestalt intelligence, this "GO!" moment when everyone breaks outta their camp spot to rush a heavily defended objective and either we take the objective in a few gore soaked and explosive moments or we find that we've vastly underestimated the remaining strength of the defenders and take a very calculated tactical maneuver in another direction. By which I mean the survivors retreat while those of us who died stare at the respawn screen swearing vengeance on that camper who killed us.
Don't know where exactly to place this, but after opening ports, disabling firewall and antivirus, running as admin, reinstalling the game three times, using firefox, IE9, chrome, running the command lines in CMD that I found in the general bugs solution section, deleting the specific lines of texts that I found in the same place, basically doing everything that I found that has helped people overcome their problems, my game has yet to run.
I manually browse a server (have tried 127 times), or click matchmaker, it pops up saying Joining Server... (I select join when ready), and after a bit it just closes the pop up and nothing happens. In Origin during this time it would say In game: BF3, and when the pop up closes, it just goes back to Online. I have no idea why, my computer is incredibly updated (i7, 8 gig ram hd radeon 5890 etc), I updated directX + drivers as well, I even tried going back to catalyst 11.10 seeing as somebody said this fixed their problem, but when that failed I just updated to latest version again.
Nothing works, and at this point after talking with EA help in a live chat four times with 30 minute sessions each, I'm ready to give up. This game looks beautiful, fun and exciting, but good god is it a pain to get running.
I'm generally computer savvy, I've spent hours trying to run this (I am not wasting 60$...), nothing. Has. Worked.
Also important to note, neither single player or Co-op has opened either, it would say preparing game etc. same issue as multiplayer. I just want to open the damn client...
Probably going to try get a refund, this is ridiculous :/
Edit: Running w7 ultimate, cleaned browser history/cache etc. Tried digital download + discs, nothing worked.
It tried to launch the game, as in it pops up (origin), with a Launching BF3, but then it just closes and nothing changes...anyone know what that could be based on that?

It really is insanely good one you get any sight setup that is comfortable. I came across a group of people in a game a bit ago and just sprayed like mad (no time to get sights up, too many ppl to close to me) and killed 3 out of a group of 5 or 6. I was amazed. I've probably used it 10 times and already have over 100 kills, very powerful weapon. I was really really surprised it handled mid range so well, single shot really makes that weapon all around good. My favorite new one atm is PP19 though, for some reason me and that gun just click.
I've put together nice little video of me playing and how exactly I look when I'm raging. Sometimes it gets quite frustrating getting killed by FREAKING claymores and killed from behind!!! Jesus crist...
Anyways, I hope you'll enjoy the video and leave me your feedback as well if you got a second.
