So far since d/l'ing Karkand I love it! I play on Xbox which sux and I was really hesitant to buy a copy on Xbox after seeing PC version, however it was definitely worth it lol. Plus I got really lucky and found a copy of the Limited Edition during the Black Friday Sales(on Saturday =P) for 30$ lmao. Anyway B2K is totally worthwhile. The maps are a blast and a great addition. The new guns are pretty decent also. Some of the assignments are silly(like chasing people around with a repair tool lmao) but it adds to fun of trying to unlock stuff. Super excited they added more guns. The Famas has always been a favorite weapon irl and through to gaming. Except Black Ops lmao hated that game and people who used it lol. And yea I kinda agree the iron sights make it difficult to use at first. The ACOG isn't much better but it's alright. Struggle past them first few, get the foregrip and a RDS sight or holo and pew! Insta-killing machine lol. It's a ton easier to use. Also I tend to actually bump it down to 3-round burst to help conserve ammo lmao. Recently unlocked the L96 and for a bolt action rifle(I use the M39 predominately) it's a riot to use lol. Other than the M98b I haven't enjoyed to bolt actions, but this one I could get used to. Not sure what the difference is tbh. Now only if i can get the stupid repair tool kill for the MP5!

I am really surprised they made the 2nd assignment Assault gun what it is (iirc, the L85A2 was a spec ops gun for EU in BF2 and was not utilized all too often). I think they should have switched them around, making the FAMAS the more difficult gun to obtain. If the FAMAS is anything like it was in BF2, I expect mass usage in BF3. L85 was medic gun
L85A1 was medic gun. L85A2 was assault (after researching).

Thanks imSiankO for letting me in to the TL platoon.

Oh yea I forgot why i was gunna make a post here lol. My question is in regard to the Co-op weapons... Before downloading B2K I had only unlocked up to the M39 in Co-op. After downloading B2K, all the weapons have been unlocked for me lol. Anyone else noticed this?

DICE lowered the point requirements for unlocking co-op weapons with the latest patch (they're now about 1/3rd of what they were before). So if you had enough points before the patch you'll have unlocked some new weapons after the patch.

So do any of the new guns beat the old ones?

I want to know what the "Physical warfare pack" is for BF3 cause i saw that the type 88 LMG (iirc) for support is apart of that and I could have sworn I bought that (or it came with the preorder limited edition.)

The Famas has the worst ironsights in the history of the world, but after you grind it out and unlock the RDS it's a pure killing machine. It has high recoil and and very high ROF, I like to stick the silencer, grip, and RDS and use it for medium to close fighting. It kills everything in CQB
The l85a2 is a decent gun, it's pretty accurate and doesn't have a lot of recoil. My only problem with it is that it has a slow ROF and is very weak compared to other assault rifles.
The Chinese MG that you can unlock (first support unlock) is fucking weird looking, and I think that's why I love to use it. It feels more like an assault rifle with a huge capacity than it does a machine-gun. Very well-rounded.
The first engineer unlock is another generic engineer gun. It "feels" just the g36c. Nothing special about it, and it gets the job done. Haven't unlocked any recon stuff because I have testicles.

On the whole, I agree.
The famas is an amazing AR, as usual. One day, an fps will be released in which the famas isn't a monster, but that game is not BF3-B2K. The gun's a little less accurate than the AEK but it shoots even freaking faster, so it's absolute death at close-med range. The 85a2, on the other hand, is terrible.
The QBB-9S has a really interesting niche. It's halfway between the not-really-MGs and the actual MGs. I can pretend I'm an assault if I want to while still being able to set up and suppress; the price is that the IAR wins in a straight-up fight. The MG36 is just another MG-lite, not bad at all but not worth writing home about.
For the others, the engineer guns are nothing special either; the first one doesn't just feel like the G36, it's actually an almost-perfect clone. The chinese one is straight-up bad. And all the snipers are the same; semi, bolt, Barrett, those are your real options, never mind the flavour. The L96 looks cool, I use it for the novelty right now, but it doesn't dethrone the M98B.
The one other gun that sticks out to me is the new smg, the PP-19. At super close range it's actually more deadly than the M4, and it shoots straighter on the move. I've finally found an smg worth running in its own right.
Really, the one new gun that's got any chance of being a first-class contender is the famas, but enough of the others have useful niches that I'm pretty happy with the pack.

Does destroying a vehicle (and thus killing its occupants) with the repair tool count as a repair tool kill? If so, shouldn't be too hard.

I don't think killing a vehicle with someone inside awards for repair tool kill. I did it and did not receive the gun, but maybe I didn't have the repairs done yet. I just climbed up a crane in Gulf of Oman and burnt a sniper. Then the server crashed or something. So I did the same thing again. Server crashed again. Finally jumped out of a jet onto a building, burnt ANOTHER sniper and completed the match. Pretty much any situation where you can knife someone, you can get a repair tool kill off. A knife kill and repair tool kill take about the same amount of time.
I've have to agree with the FAMAS iron sights. I couldn't believe how terrible it was. It's like looking through a hole in a brick.
Also, does anyone play organised clan vs clan conquest matches? The clan I'm in isn't that skilled (anyone can join it) and we played a 16 vs 16 conquest large on Operation Firestorm. The clan organised for squad alpha to take a transport helicopter and hop out to capture one base, bravo squad to take the 2 tanks to try and hold 2 bases, another squad had another 2 tanks, another squad was 'air warfare'. It sounded like complete crap to me, but I went along with it. The other clan was pretty much all engineers, so the tanks kept rolling out and getting destroyed. It was like smashing my head against a wall. Now there is another match organised and yet again, there are strict instructions for each squad to follow.
I think we would have a better chance of winning the match if the leaders just said "ALRIGHT GUYS CAPTURE POINTS HOWEVER YOU WANT, LETS GO". Does anyone in a decent clan have advice on winning these organised matches? Am I right in saying that these rigid strategies are complete bullshit?

I'm not in a big clan or anything, but the way you are describing these squad roles is very emulative of actual combat situations, so there should be some measure of effectiveness behind it, or it wouldn't be applied in the real world. That being said, the squads are all directed by a commander who updates their objectives on a regular basis from an overview perspective, so without that element, it might as well be every man for himself. It's all well and good for squads to have roles, but somebody needs to be in charge so that these roles can be utilized together synergistically.

I guess now it's time to do some coop missions, the campaign was so short. Anyone want to grind them for points? BF3 Tag: Tyriador
