When I've played Grand Basar for the first time and I've tried out mortar changes my minimap was empty... Vehicles are the same, just people spotting. Call me terrible...but 120 games in, and I didn't know you could spot......lol. So how and what do you do again? Press Q with your target over a enemy. Regardless of what type, enemy plane, enemy tank enemy or foot soldiers. A red triangle will appear over their head, indicating their position on the minimap/field of vision until they leave your Line-of-Sight. Its very useful to let your teammates know where the enemy is and as the spotter, you get 10points for every enemy spotted and that your allies killed, while spotted. Those points rack up fast when you fly a MAV and spot for your teammates for example I now feel like I've missed out on about a million points, as well a feeling like a total n00b. -_- Thanks. You're telling me you've talked about being a totally leet amazing 30:1 recon for the last sixteen pages, and you didn't know how to spot? Wow. I'm impressed. Not pressing Q in no way affects your aiming ability. Apparently it does majorly affect your point totals. I still was best recon overall half the time without spotting, lol. I've switched to assault recently though, just because it's even easier for me to point whore, and I've unlocked everything important in the recon class + got my recon medal. I still switch to it in stalemate-ish maps like metro/dhavamand/kharg though. Got 11k points a few days ago. Got ~10 500m+ headshots + plenty of other kills. And then the game didn't record.....never showed up under my profile, battlelog status thing never updated.....I was raging. I had a 761m headshot too. -_-
And I'm still pretty terrible at the game overall, I just still have my very solid aim intact from my years of playing Counterstrike and Quake.

Everyone says they have "good aim" Im sure you really do... Kinda like every Silver player says they have good micro.
I pooped my pants when i first saw the antenna fall on Caspian, mainly cause it fell right on top of my head. Good addition DICE!

So now all COOP unlockable weapons are unlocked for everyone?
Also I'm loving the new icons and the chat looks much better.

wow i just turned motion blur on and it just blows my mind how much better the game looks. i play only on medium without msaa and ssao to get a good framerate but turning motion blur on max has turned the game from decent looking to absolutely incredibly gorgeous. fps went down by about 5 but it is so worth it. anybody who can afford it should turn it on imo. absolutely beautiful

My friend bought the game on patch day and he doesn't have them, personally I unlocked them pre-patch but to me it looks like they reduced the score requirement rather than just gave them to everyone.

The motion blur looks great in this game, but for optimal play in multiplayer you should definitely leave it off, or you risk missing soldiers in your peripherals. Personally, I'm not hardcore into stats so I have it on, but reduced to around 25%.

Is anyone else pretty much not able to join a game? I've been trying to join different servers for around thirty minutes and it is stuck on 'Joining' server for all of them.
Very frustrating, I just want to play, lol. Anyone else getting this?

The requirements were lowered to 30% of original or something similar

Our team entered a NA ladder out of boredom, first match was just then on 8v8 metro. On US side me and my teammate MAV'd 5 guys on rollout allowing us to cap B easy. BEST STRAT EVER. Smashed them even with 300 ping lol

Always turn motion blur off myself, you should turn it off in multiplayer games at least if you take them seriously at all. Or maybe I'm just bitter because I'm already at 20FPS with everything on minium and can't even consider turning it on.
Also I got service stars for all classes but Recon now and just went through the struggle of unlocking MAV to get Recon score up, but I'm getting hardly any score by using it. Is the spotting actually supposed to give good score or do I have to learn to road kill with it or just go shotgun-recon.
And am I the only one that finds their camos reseting all the time? Only reason I could come up with was that they might get saved for each map invidually but haven't got into testing that.
|
My camos reset every time too. It's annoying. =[

lol. It's really depressing that the MAV works even at a competitive level. I'm sure those guys weren't exactly the tip-top, but still...

It's got nothing to with your aiming ability or your points, it's to do with the fact that you're acting like you're an excellent recon when you demonstrably don't, in fact, recon lol. It's not even about the fact that you didn't know how to spot; we've all had our share of "wow now I feel like a total moron" moments, I know I have. It's just the mindset of the selfish sniper that's coming through. Even after being told, your reaction was "hey, I could have been getting so many more points!" rather than "hey, i could have been giving my team wallhacks!"
idk, honestly I'm just sick of ending up in squads with dudes who sit in the distance going for marksman and kdr rather than the objectives. At that point I don't really care whether the guy can make those shots or not; guaranteed he could be doing something more helpful with his time.

Found another bug after patching today. There's a small chance that being revived will get you stuck on deployment screen and you'll have to reload. Can't suicide out of it as it's not an option from menu cause you're on deployment screen, but then I can see my char's guns and everything in front of me but cannot move or exit the deployment screen and timer on deployment doesn't count down.=[

You sound like every person playing BF3 is obligated to make the game experience fun for everyone else.
I play recon and in some games i just sit in the back and snipe. You know why? Because it is a game I paid to play and that is the way I enjoy playing.
Equally tiring is hearing people like you go on about how the game is "intended" to be played and how everyone "should" play their classes and roles.
Just play for fun and mind your own business. If you have problems with how others play then create your own squad with friends and don't play with randoms.

At that point I don't really care whether the guy can make those shots or not; guaranteed he could be doing something more helpful with his time. If I'm leading my team in points, then I'm pretty sure I'm contributing pretty well, even if I'm not optimizing my class. Spotting as a recon is kind of stupid anyways, imo, because if I can see them, and maintain a line of sight on them, and I have a M98, I should be killing them. The effect of a good sniper or three on a team, especially on stalemate maps, can be pretty big. I know on long alley showdowns on bazaar, I can get my team through it just by sitting at the end and making everyone in the alley afraid to poke out. Sure, parking a Humvee at the other end, or spamming mass explosives can work as well or better, but my way can work pretty well too. Sure, I could sit at the end as assault and just point whore revive/heals or ammo packs a support, but that doesn't really do anything as far as pushing or capping. I know I've been through this before with other people that say recon is a pretty useless class, and I know I can do as well or even better as assault. But if I can go 20-4 as a recon, I'm not hurting my team, and I'm having fun. Basically, stfu, there's 31 other people on the team, and if one guy going recon and going 20-4 makes the team lose, then there are more serious problems on the team than a guy going recon.

I did for a bit. Got a new router, fixed everything up. Coulda been my NAT type... I know it gives me problems on my PS3 and XBox from time to time. Unfortunately routers are my achilles heel of the computer world, so in theory I could have fixed my router settings, but it was just easier for me to get a new one altogether.
