If my walls could understand all the profanity I would probably be smashed by them, however I've already preorded the game just from the beta experience. Yes it's buggy and I don't completely understand the bullets mechanics nor the maps/behavior or them, but it's god damn entertaining for me. I like the fact I am getting better and better and understand it more with each game. And that's only one map.
Now the software.I don't mind the Origin thingy nor the web browser matchmaking. It was strange for me, but now, when I have some experience with it I must say I like it. As far as the information gathering, spying etc. one must be pretty naive to boycott this unless he is god damn gosu hacker from movies completely off the grid. Nowadays everything gathers information about you and I am pretty sure EA will not get anything that Google or Facebook doesn't already have...
Honestly, CS was my only FPS before. I love Battlefield because of the chaos sometimes. I love knowing I'm in the pit of the battles and bullets flaring past me.
Bullets in this game like other bf have penetrative power which is linked to it's suppressive fire power ie fire in a direction can hurt people even behind cover, bullets also are effected by gravity you can notice bullet drop the most if you slow the bullet by putting on a supersser and a 12x scope then firing far away, the sights on them are marked for this like normal sights where each tick marks bulldrop over a distance. Bullet do not seem to be effected by wind nor their rotation ie i dont see a pull top the top left or top right when firing.

I'm looking forward to the campaign cuz it seems like they are actually trying for once to make one instead of just slapping a few maps against bots and calling that a campaign.
Although ionno what this is a part of but i would think the campaign
Yeah, I am looking forward to BF3's campaign too. There hasn't been a lot of information it besides it taking place in the Middle East and parts of Europe, I think. DICE said that they took inspirations from works such as The Hurt Locker, Generation Kill, Black Hawk Down, etc.

wow...that video is awesome. they should make a separate jet fighter game in the future, they really know how to showcase it.

Bullets can't penetrate walls and rocks in this (at least not unless it's a special round). The reason why bullets hit you behind cover is because the netcode in the game is really bad at the moment and basically what happens is you take damage server-side well before you take it client-side.
Example: Someone fires three shots at you. The first one hits you so you dive behind a rock. The second one hits you as you're diving. Finally, the third one hits you after you've been behind the rock for a good second or more. The reason for this is that you're actually already dead and your game simply doesn't know it yet. By the time you took damage from the first bullet client-side you were already being hit by the third bullet server-side.
It's a fairly major issue at the moment but hopefully will be fixed before too long. BC2 had really terrible notcode at first also and it's pretty solid now.

No I have definitely been spraying walls with people behind them and getting kills.
This game is an abortion compared to the beauty that was Battlefield 1942, and to a lesser extent Battlefield 2. Currently, what you see in beta, is rush mode, which is basically a failed, buggy version of CoD. The Conquest mode, that has all the helo's and tanks should be better, but i'm not holding my breath. I want destroyers and submarines back.
However, the amount of bugs I've seen in beta show that this is game has become the typical rushed out the door EA bullshit. They have completely killed the franchise. It's a shame that they are trying to be a Call of Duty clone, rather than stay true to the original game design that was engaging, unique and super fun.

Basically everyone who is a real BF fans knows not to base the game off rushed, also the testers for Caspian Border said it felt real similar to that of BF2, so I fail to see how it was rushed? All betas have bugs, as well I have yet to encounter anything other than a silly grenade pathing issue.
1 day after the game comes out you can be sure it will get a major patch. It's hardly a CoD Clone, hence all the CoD fanboys complaining
Been playing as support, not very good at the game but still enjoying it most of the time. I am using M249 with grip, flash suppressor and ACOG, is quite good for long range suppression and med range murder if properly fired in bursts :-)
I also love planting C4 around the coms as defender, and when enemy team fuses the bomb just pull the trigger and clear them out so the rest of your team can defuse more quickly :-)

That sounds like a glitch or something, then. Or if it's at a corner it could be the destructible terrain. I've noticed that around corners where some of the bricks fall off and stuff you can kinda shoot through them and hit people.
It could also still be netcode. Everyone is running with a minimum of 400-500ms latency right now so what you're seeing on your screen isn't what the server is seeing. If you were aiming near the end of a wall then your spray could hit someone who's poking out server-side that your client hasn't registered yet. However, if you're shooting the middle of a wall and getting kills from it... that's a different matter entirely ~_~
