It seems like the merchants generally sell generic cheap stuff and I am also not able to craft them myself because I lack the enchanting smithing skills. I remember in oblivion, you could go to a shop and shell out a large sum for a really expensive item or spell, regardless of your level. | ||

The Whiterun smith generally has some special stuff up for sale. It gets a LOT more expensive later on, though, and it would probably be best just relying on dungeon rewards/chest findings at a low level. | ||

Killed 2 of those dragon priests. Krosis and the one in the college of mages quest line. Those were some seriously tough battles, took like 15 minutes for the quest one but Krosis was easier since I had the archmage robe and the mask with +100% mana regen. I have a question, what am I allowed to wear for alteration armor perks to work? It says clothes only.. does that mean I can't wear the masks those guys give me? Right now I'm wearing the mask + the archmage robe and took off my boots + gloves. Do I really need to get a hood for it to work? And is there any pieces of armor for gloves and boots that work? I assume rings and amulet don't matter. I'm around 70 in smithing and enchanting so far... takes a while. Level 29; using Bound weapons from conjuration (on easy enemies) to capture souls, otherwise it's almost 100% lightning destruction (except vs enemies that have very high resistance, I might use fire or some 2h weapon I found that does 22 damage + 15 burning). Been doing much better since I got better equipment. I can kill dragons without using a single potion because dual lightning bolt interrupts them each time and I have time to regen mana when they fly. Killed some giants but I need to run around for time to regen mana. Went to all major towns except Riften but I haven't done many quests in each each Whiterun and Winterhold. Otherwise, I did a ton of ransoms and dragon kills. | ||

+ Show Spoiler + problems are that both enthir (needed for quest hard answers) and jzargo(for his "test my scrolls" quest) just keep saying the same stuff and i cant talk to them. seems to me like they are stuck in the state when the city&archmage got attacked. the walk around normally ,just the talking is broken.any console fix to reset npcs or something? :/ found ways to skip the quest stage already but that still leaves them bugged so they are basicly "dead" in my game which i would hate... | ||

Thalmor outfits have 0 armor i think and is quite good looking if you wanty a hint. | ||
