This game is so sick...I was as hyped for it as I think I could be and it still surpassed my expectations. This may or may not be because the only TES game I played was (albeit modded) Oblivion.
I made a Dark Elf with the intention of being a Mage, but I've ended up with so many points in one-handed, speech, alchemy, enchanting, restoration, and destruction haha. I've also almost completed the companions line, but haven't touched the winterhold mage college line and I'm level 21 (lots of random dungeon clearing).
I'm thinking I might start over with a more focused character and either do a Thief and plow through Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood quests or a Nord Warrior and plow through the main storyline.
No matter what I do, I'm sure this game will keep me occupied for a while!

hope you guys can help me out, thanks in advance =) What's your resolution you'll be playing in? That's what matters. I run this game at 65 FPS almost maxed out with an E5200 2.5GHz and a 4850 HD because I play at 1024x768 (yeah come at me). If I were to be running at 1900x1200, I probably wouldn't even be able to run the game. It's not that demanding of a game, honestly, though. i would be playing at 1280x1024
It'll be a bit rough perhaps, but you should be good.

Argh I'm really frustrated with a certain aspect of the game. The Alteration perk that gives you bonus armor if you arent wearing armor is nice and all but I have an amazing helmet that gives me +100% mana regen and only has 6 armor. When I put it on, the perk doesn't work .

Help me! + Show Spoiler +I went to Calcelmo's lab in Dwemer Museum in Markrath. There's a door and a gate both which need a key. I can't find a key anywhere. There is a whole through which I can see to the room behind the gate and there is all kinds of Dwemer gadgets around so I'm thinking there has to be some way in but just can't figure it out.

Why can I not pay off my bounty in Markarth? It's only at 1050 and the guards just instantly attack me. The times when they didn't attack, they gave me 3 options...1) "I was framed, I didn't do it" - There is no bribe/persuade/intimidate next to this answer and it never worked when I tried it. 2) "Ok, send me to jail" - The guards say "You're going to Cidna Mine, you'll never see the light of day again" and then the chat resets and nothing happens...(still have my bounty etc.) ??? 3) "I would rather die than go to jail" - Fight the guards. Impractical. This is really annoying as I need to get into the city to hand-in/obtain side quests (and I can't do any quests related to the Jarl because he see's me as an "enemy" -__-). Please Help! Thanks Selecting send me to jail should work, all that happens is you go and you can lockpick your way out and attempt to sneak past the guards but it seems like it is easier to just do the time. After you wake up you should return to infront of the castle, re enter it and go bacl down into the castle dungeons and retrieve any stolen items since they give you every item back except for those. Also your bounty should be cleared and since it was a 1000 bounty you may have lost a skill or 2 but I am not sure. I have served many 40 bounties and they didn't say ii lost a skill and I may have served a 1040 bounty and I don't recall seeing anything saying I lost skills eiither 0.0 GL Thanks for trying to help, I've been to jail a few times before too and I know roughly how it works, though I always just pay off the bounty as it's quicker. This though, is bugged, i'm 99% sure of it. Since writing the post i've gone back and tried once again to hand myself in, but the guards just don't do anything. The chat resets and my only option is to kill them, thus raising the bounty even more. I think it's something to do with the storyline that happens in Markarth involving the prison etc, don't want to spoil it incase you're not there yet. Guess I will just have to avoid going to Markarth now.
Alternative option is joining the Thieves guild and having their influence make your bounty disappear.

Im like 20 hours in right now, still just playing the way it feels natural for me(focusing on Sneak/archery then 1h/block/light armor) and really loving it. I also like alchemy alot.... especially cuz i get to catch butterflies! Is there a better way to find potion recipes and stuff other than just eating the ingredients(without looking them up online)? I also still have like half my talent points saved up because I don't wanna put them in the wrong thing I started Dark Brotherhood, got out of the house where you first meet a DB lady and the dragon was on top of the house and firebreath'd me to death
+ Show Spoiler +I got one when I was chasing down Cicero and the Werewolf in the DB quest line. ZZZzzz... I'm sorry the dragon killed your Husband, Astrid... *Reload*

I don't really like the fast travel system. I feel the game really needs some sort of fast travel, as I don't want to spend my life going from one corner of the map to the other, but there should be a lot more restrictions to it. Let us only use it in big towns, for money, that would be enough (they should only keep the taxis actually, and remove fast travel from the map). Otherwise it removes the feeling that you're travelling around this big world, it ruins it a little for me.
Also I didn't play that long but the game seems really easy so far. I am on the 4th difficulty setting, and frying all the waves of weak ennemis is about as difficult as cooking sausages. Do I really need to change it to extreme difficulty just to have a normal challenge?

Need some noob advice. How the hell do I play warrior right on highest difficulty? I have one battle tactic and that is run away when opponent swings then counterattack. I'm curious what other warriors utilized for crowd control. I started teching down conjure path. I've been playing 1hand shield and I just die to 3 enemy groups. Also the boss fights I've had have been me running around slashing when I get a chance. I'm a warrior goddamnit I want to stand and fight.

If using fast travel breaks immersion for you, don't do it. That's the beauty of a single player game. If I'm questing in the area around a town, I'll leave through the gate and run around, but I'm sure as shit not running all the way from Riften to Markarth and back just for the sake of exploration.
Granted, it's amazing how much the area around Whiterun is explored on my map and then how empty everything else is. I have so far to go.

I started have what i assume is some kind of gfx glitches. Stuff turning pink like all the colours ontop of the models? Is it GFX card overheating?:S I was in the start of the Thieves Guild quest line if thats helps anything.

Dark Brotherhood is fun as fuck, albeit a bit short. It's really fucking fun once the plot begins to thicken in it.
If you're a stealth character, go do Thieves Guild though. THAT is a fucking good quest line.

I would say the cool option would be that each bigger town is connected to other bigger tows through some way of travel (like carriage) and you can only use that for fast travel to other towns. But each town "owns" a part of the map and you can fast travel like now inside this area but once you want to travel to other parts you must first travel to other area big town and then you can fast travel inside that town area. How does that sound?

Best one in the game imo, just that I kinda disliked the fact that it didn't feel like the thieves guild at all. I mean it was good but ur not really stealin anythin :p

That's not what I meant. Playing dodge the pole is fine in 1 on 1. Doesn't work too well against three enemies. My assumption from the title warrior is there is a way to play as a tank. I'm curious what that method is.
