This game hardly ever utilizes 100% GPU - I'm getting 30 FPS in Riverwood and my GPU is running at 40%. Pretty sure this is due to my meh-worthy CPU, an i5 750. Gonna have to be OCing that soon I guess.
EDIT: Also having problems with lowish sound quality, particularly the music, even after the 44100 HZ sound quality change. Anyone else getting this too? when you say performance issues, just FPS? are you running on ultra? I have a i5 750 and gtx 570 as well and i would think this would be more than enough to run on ultra with no problems. I have an i5 2500k, gtx 570 and yeah I get fps issues as well. Considering the game doesn't look THAT good to where I can't max it and get 60 fps smoothly. It looks nice and all but my computer should easily max it but whatever I can live with 40-60 fps hopefully mods or a patch comes through to optimize it a bit as right now its not as optimized as I would have hoped. So basically, its a optimization issue. Realistically once all is optimized, the 570gtx should eat this game for breakfast yea? thanks for the response, I'll probably wait to get it for PC, my 360 version will hold me off till then Yeah idk whatever PC version is still better in my eyes and would rather just play it on PC and not buy for both even if I can't run it "max" with 60 fps yet Show nested quote +i5 2500k and ati 6870 (or 80 or whatever the number was, it was higher than 50 ^^) and the game runs smooth with viewdistance and shadows max. Must be a driver issue specific with this game and the 570? Because my gpu isnt that great really. Yes but what is your fps? Also what resolution? I am playing 1920 by 1200, if I played on lower I could get constant 60 fps but I shouldn't have to, to do that.
I didn't buy it for 360 due to the reasons you stated. I bought it for 360 because I want to play on my gorgeous 60 inch plasma.
I want the pc version as well for the mods.

Is your i5 2500k OC'd? What clock speed? It seems like CPU might be a large factor in FPS in this game.

So having spent the entire beginning portion of the game murdering people in their houses, I have a small bounty on my head. I kind of became like a pseudo serial killer before I even had a bounty. But a little girl in a house reported the deaths of her parents and obviously, being a mature game you cannot kill children... Anyways, I killed a guard for his armor now all that happens is I get attacked everywhere. How do you surrender (initiate the conversation window again) with aggresive guards? How do I go to jail? It's seriously completely halted my plot line + Show Spoiler +(at the beginning... i've found 2 shouts and havent gotten far enough to use em)
My friend was playing on 360 all night next to me, me on PC, and we cannot figure out how to surrender for our crimes. I just keep getting attacked.

From those numbers, it looks like the 570 can barely run last gen games.at 60 fps on 1920x1200. It wont surprise me if Skyrim is even more resource intensive.

i played tons of rpg's and loved them (like baldurs gate or planescape), i also loved hacknslay's like diablo or titan quest but whenever i try a game of this series i am quickly bored, this game looks like no fun at all to me after playing 1-2 hours
anyone else feel the same or should i just try to stick to it a bit longer?

Just went to the very first town, immediately set a chicken on fire, and Alvor, who I needed for the quest, is dead because apparently that chicken was sacred and now the town hates me. Now I don't know how to proceed. Lol.

whoever has problem with the controlls, let me enlighten your day:
you can do next to every action without you mouse.
TAB opens menue wasd chooses spells/perks/items/map you can open the highlighted option with pressing the key again: TAB->W->W = you are in you perks overview etc. E works to accpet nearly everything, even when the tip tells you to press enter to accept (golden) while in option windos you can mouseweel scroll through everything (especially usefull in items as the list is quite long)
back to enjoy skyrim

In oblivion, you could hold "block" and tap the left mouse button while looking at a guard. This signaled that you wished to surrender, and they would react depending on how much you pissed them off. It might be the same way in Skyrim.

yes you need the pick to mine ore. But ore is kinda rare and you'll probably only find it in designated mine dungeons.
But better dont feel too powerful with your newly crafted armor. I got the Elven armor complete and upgrade to Exquisite status which means I have 140+ armor rating now with 40ish light armor points. But I still get 3 shotted by 2 handed Bandits

Ultimately the game isn't even using more than 60% of the card's power most of the time, so it sure as hell should be running faster (ie utilizing 100% of the card).

I just get a big red box on the start screen, and when i start a new game textures are missing and i just see red polygons. Has anyone seen this/fixed it?
|
Question
Does anyone know how the "Bound Sword" spell works? Does it use the one hand skill? Would my one handed perks benefit the "Bound Sword"? Does it do fixed damage? I am trying to determine whether I should use this instead of my normal sword.

Any one know what to do about invisible spider web textures? Doesn't seem like anyone on the whole internetz has the same problem as I do >.<

Cool thanks for the reply! 10 pounds seems a bit much to carry around just to grab ore even with my 300 weight limit, in heavy armor thats alot of my weight...ah well at least there are perks to solve it in awhile. I unfortunately started on the block tree first hehe It doesn't have to get me godly armor or anything, Im just role-playing a survival wilderness orc heavy fighter. So I like that I jaunt back to town to make my own shit after slaying wolves for pelts and such.

Today I was battling a dragon. The dragon got too close to a giant. He got owned. Badly. I was next. I managed to run away, but damn, those giants are strong!

Everyone is complaining / noting issues which i have NO idea why they're having them lol. Im sorry you guys are suffering.
My PC: I5 2500k stock, 8gb ripjaw, 560 TI.
I can run at a smooth 60fps constantly, wherever i go (at ultra high + ini mods for better graphics). And i have already + Show Spoiler +killed the first dragon in a quest line, traversed a fair few dungeons where at which point 4 necromancers were spamming ice/shock spells at me at once, my screen lit up like a chrismas tree but didnt stutter. and some other stuff
I can also do everything in the menu with my mouse. EVERYTHING. after pressing tab to open it,
I have no crashing issues :S
I wonder whats up with yours :S
P.S Dual sword wielding nord warrior representing. I went with nord in honor of this epic game, and dual wield because, well its about as epic as the new spells, but i'll save mage for my 2nd playthrough for awesomeness.
