My new favorite thing to do in multiplayer is Acolyte + Carnage combos. Works like a charm on the krogard. Pretty much instagib on Marauders, Centurions, etc

Would be great if someone could give a short, 1-2 sentence, spoiler free review of the Leviathan DLC if anyone has played through it yet. Things like length, quality, worth the cost, etc. I've heard so little about it and it released today without a major announcement or anything much really.

I'll probably play through it tomorrow but I agree the information about it is pretty abysmal.

Bought and played it this morning. Not terrible, lore was decent, but as DLC / missions it was very similar in feel to any other mission in the normal campaign. A detour to some planet or planets, some linear, fast-paced, "get to this place while battling enemies" combat, and then some lore/characters. Solid 2-3 hours of gameplay. For $10. You gauge the worth based on your own interests.

A few detailed comments and thoughts below. Spoilers (content-related, not as much lore), depending on how much you've heard/read. Or how much you care....
+ Show Spoiler +
If you've heard anything about this at all you probably know it involves an underwater sequence. The underwater part was extremely cool and unique at first. Immersive, if you're one for puns, hohoho. Looks amazing, atmosphere is awesome. But it was a flash in the pan compared to the whole DLC; literally only 5-10 minutes of underwater content, AND it was simply just following a path (literally, like, as if you were in a maze with only 1 route) to arrive at a cutscene. You fall a few times, to further depths, but there's absolutely no exploration or "free movement" through an underwater environment, which they seemed to imply with the info about the DLC release. Quite disappointed here.

There were parts that were actually interesting earlier in the DLC. Specifically, you visit a mining colony and need to navigate the facility to find a missing scientist, or information about the missing scientist. This was probably my favorite part, and really threw me back to the feel of ME1, because you're just wandering around some facility where there's something obviously strange going on, and all of your interactions are with the characters and reading [data pads, terminals, etc.] to not only figure out what's going on but how to unlock a certain area to either progress or acquire more lore. No combat, less linear; just checking each corner of a small building to get info/progress, and the atmosphere is really creepy and uncomfortable. Again this is a pretty short segment, but to me it was the most interesting and unique, really gave a feel of nostalgia to ME1.

There's also a fun gimmicky part right off the bat where you optionally explore a lab to narrow down which star systems you need to scan to find things relevant to the DLC. However, shortly after doing so, you return to the same lab and do the EXACT same thing again, for "different clues". This was a bit awkward, it felt like they quickly diluted something novel to the game by reusing it and half the dialogue.

Overall like I said, it feels exactly like a main campaign mission, in terms of length, combat, etc. If it WERE part of the retail game, I'd go so far as to say it would be one of my favorite missions/sidequests, primarily due to the lore if you're into that sort of thing. But as $10 goes, you'll have to decide for yourself. If I had to rate it, factoring in everything, I'd say 6 out of 10, with a finger and a sad face pointed at the untapped potential (first paragraph of the spoiler above).

From what I've read it seems to be a decent DLC story- and settingwise and thats what i care about most anyways. Gonna check it out later.

Yeah, the DLC was worth it for the lore imo. Clears up a pretty big question about the Reapers.

Yep don't expect anything great in terms of game-play, but the lore really helps to answer some questions and even makes a ending less lame.

No different than Arrival and Lair of the Shadow Broker... I would agree with you if this content had been created at release I would be mad it wasn't included in the game (cough*javik*cough), but six months later is a different story. Plus everything else they have released since launch has been free (extended ending and several multiplayer expansions)

Also worth noting, you also get two of the weapons you could only previously get by pre-ordering the game with this dlc.

Massive new update to the multiplayer...

http://blog.bioware.com/2012/10/09/developer-blog-mass-effect-3-retaliation-in-depth/

some highlights:

New enemy faction: The Collectors!
New collector guns: sniper, AR, and SMG
New playable character classes: Turian infiltrator & solder with jet pack (heavy melee is similar biotic charge apparently) and "stim pack" - a temporary immunity as well as Volus adept and engineer (no details yet) and 12 more planned to be released in the coming weeks
Each week 2 maps will be available in a "Hazard" mode, with environmental dangers for an extra xp boost. One example given is acid rain on firebase ghost which will require you to stay indoors or take constant damage.
"Challenges" menu, which looks like an achievement system for multiplayer

Oh and as with all the other multiplayer expansions, its completely free!

Lol, one of the best moments from ME2. The volus adept's abilities are stasis, something called "Biotic Orbs" (his picture on the character selection screen shows 3 orbs floating around his waste) and "Sheild Boost" which both he and the Volus engineer have.

Haven't unlocked him or played with one yet, but I just played a game with the volus engineer and he has really cool looking ability called Recon Mine that has like a laser field that detects all enemies that walk into it kind of like the geth vision or male quarian scan for the whole team, then explodes in a GIANT effing explosion. Don't know the details, but it seemed pretty effective.

The collectors are reeeaally fun so far... They have abomination husks that explode with an AoE fire damage over time effect when they die. The captains (equivalent of marauders or centurions) release seeker swarms that can be shot down but if they reach you they do damage and lock out your powers for 15 seconds. Scions and praetorians are both vastly improved from their ME2 versions in terms of their art, animations, AI and abilities. And harbinger can still assume control of any collector unit and change it into a super powered version. For example, if he takes over an abomination (explosive husk) they gain barriers and explode like a nuke similar to when you killed the big mechs in ME2 with a head shot.

Hey guys,
I'm soon going to replay Mass Effect 1 and 2, and then finally play Mass Effect 3 for the first time.
The first time I played ME1 I was an Infiltrator (Paragon), and a Vanguard in ME2 (Renegade).

Now I'm going to transfer save files from one game to the next, and try to keep all crewmembers alive and stuff.
I want to play on the hardest difficulty. Now, what class would you consider to be a fun class to play at highest difficulty? Preferably not Infiltrator or Vanguard since I've already played that class.
Thanks in advance!

It's different for people, but vanguard was the funniest class for me on ME2. On ME3 is kinda meh because you just faceroll shit, but still better than most classes imho (engineer is a close second tho).

Playing vanguard on insanity in ME2 presents new challenges since the enemies either have shields or armor in addition to health. Also, insanity in ME3 is way easier than insanity in ME2.

The leviathan DLC on Insanity had some difficult moments, but yeah its not that hard at all. I always play ME on insanity cus there are a lot of non-combat time, so when I get to the combat I want it as difficult as possible. Still dying is very easy to avoid.

Problem on ME3 is how you can stack your invulnerability times and you are just an overpowered Goku. I loved the shotgun in ME2, hiding behind frozen opponents and stuff. It was rewarding.

Mass Effect 2: Shotgun Sentinal: Download Kasumi's DLC (my favourate character in all ME games), equip the Scimitar Shotgun, and faceroll at point blank while abusing Kasumi's flashbangs. Also Revenant Soldier is pretty fun as I find the Revenant the most fun weapon in the game.
Mass Effect 3: the Insanity difficulty is pretty easy, and much easier than ME2's and beginning of ME1. I had good time with every class, probably Adept was the most fun for me.
I'm playing the game, the one that will take me to my end, i'm waiting for the rain, TO WASH-- WHO I AM!!!
