A listing for Mass Effect 3 on an unidentified next generation system has started the game's rumor mill into overdrive. Previously thought as a possibility of coming to Nintendo's Wii U, This finding on EA's extranet might be the first proof that there is a Wii U version in the works.
The timing of said release is unclear, and depending on the unannounced release window for the next generation system for Nintendo, it could be a launch title for the upcoming console. Then again, maybe Microsoft or Sony has a next generation surprise up their sleeve that is coming sooner than expected.
As for Mass Effect 3 on the Wii U, putting the first title out as the third in the series is no way to introduce this series to Nintendo fans. With Nintendo desperately trying to shake off the casual image that the Wii has brandished on the company, this could be their ticket to legitimacy with the gamers on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
We'll see what shakes out from this recent finding.
Multiplayer co-op sounds ok. It seems like you can still get the full experience through single-player, so co-op is just a bonus and takes nothing away from the main campaign. Looking forward to it!
Do we need a Mass Effect 3 demo? Not really. Just about the whole world is firmly ensconced in either the "can't wait to get it" or "couldn't care less" camps by now, and those few who remain uncommitted can get a full dose of the real thing with Mass Effect 2, which is easily available for about 20 bucks these days, or less if you dig. Now, do we want a Mass Effect 3 demo? That's a whole different question.
For everyone who answered, "My goodness, yes" [and that's probably a lot of you], here's some good news: there will be a demo, it's coming in January 2012 and it will include both single-player and multiplayer bits, so you can get a taste of both sides of the coin.
And what if you don't want to wait until January? No problemo! Just pick up Battlefield 3 on any platform - new, not used, thanks - and you'll automatically be given early access to the multiplayer part of the demo when you activate your Online Pass.
And what if you hate Battlefield 3? No problemo! Another early access offer for those who love Mass Effect but hate everything else will be announced in late November or early December.
Specific release dates for the demo, both regular and early access, will be announced in late November, as will the length of the early-access period. The early-access demo will be strictly multiplayer, while the single-player component will be available to all players on the day it launches, in all regions in which the game itself is coming out. I want to get ME3 for the computer, but i played #2 on the xbox, and i also don't want to do a full playthrough of ME2 on the computer to get back to where i was. Does anyone know if using cheatcodes in ME2 will have an effect on ME3? I know its supposed to pull like 300 different things from the other games, i just dont want to screw up my game because im lazy.
Everything has been building to this. It's like the Superbowl. Who cares what happened in the regular season? Now's the one that matters.

Who cares what happened in the regular season?
A.K.A. Who cares what happened in ME1 and 2
Nothing can describe my face right now.
Holy fucking shit what.
YOUR LIFE WAS A LIE.
more like
"we dont give a damn about ME 1 and 2 and will just screw you"
but hey at least we will most likely get Origin with ME3 isnt that nice?
It will DEFINITELY be on Origin, probably Origin exclusive too considering how much EA thinks that's how expanding their browser shit will work best.
This is just looking worse and worse by the moment, and yet I'll still buy it. But seriously. Multiplayer taking away a shit ton of resources, that will just die within a week anyway? (IE: Dead Space 2 Multiplayer) COMPLETELY disregarding the previous stories? Saying that "ME3 will be the perfect place for people new to the series to start out from"? Making Reapers something that are just an afternoon stroll to kill? What else is next?

Honestly, I hope we lose. I hope we lose and they don't make Mass Effect 4. When you think about it, the Reapers are actually not evil in any way. They are simply part of the natural order. Trying to resist such is redundant. Logically we should never be able to stop the Reapers as well as we apparently are. It would honestly just be fucking bullshit if we got another "SHEPARD SAVES THE DAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" ending. If we got a "Humanity fought valiantly, but ultimately lost to the Reaper's and were wiped out -- as all other races were -- yet were still given immortality from the Reapers for their tenacity" I would be extremely happy with that.
nah not gonna happen. I mean you need enough room to make ME4 which will be "Shepard discovers a Gateway to the Reaper home galaxy and saves the universe"
Last night, something magical happened on Xbox Live, if only for a moment; like a shooting star through the atmosphere. A Mass Effect 3 beta was leaked onto Xbox Live last night, and was accidentally made available to people who had signed up for the XBLA dashboard beta.
Action Mode: For those who want to emphasize action and combat and minimize story management. Action mode will set automatic replies in conversation and a normal difficulty.
Story Mode: For those who want to emphasize story immersion and minimize combat pressure. Story mode will set manually-selectable replies in conversation and a minimal combat difficulty.
RPG Mode: For those who want to explore both realms of story and combat. RPG mode will set manually-selectable replies in conversation and a normal combat difficulty.
More actual gameplay:
Also, inclusion of "rolling"
It seems that it was the final blow to making this game a Gears of War clone. Rolling, quick cover combat, "faster paced" combat, and completely removing all RPG elements from the game.

-_- The very fact that Bioware felt they needed to create the Action Mode worries me a lot.
Ditto. I'll personally be playing the RPG mode probably like 95% of the people on their first playthrough. Other modes just seem silly. Btw the second video is like a blast from the past. Wrex, Garrus, Sheperd, Liara, looks like the Old Guard are back in action. Personally I'm very excited. I passed ME1 almost exclusively with Wrex and Garrus. I want to see who from ME2 will be back in the squad and who entirely new will be recruitable for the 1st time.
I'm looking forward to squad reveals and class reveals when they'll come (hopefully the next few months up until release).
I don't want ME3 to be like DA2 ... Who cares what happened in ME1 and ME2? Really? What the fuck are they thinking ... I'll play the game just as I played DA2 but man I got a bad feeling about this.
Im not trolling but after seeing what they done to dao2 , looking gameplay from swtor ... ( cant possible be more wow clone really ) now this.
Scrapping most rpg elements that made mass effect1 ( same abilities like 2 more or less fom leaked beta ) enjoyable , the in depth story and some what free roaming with maco and world " epxloration " to another generic shooter with some rpg.
I don't care about definitions of RPG or TPS. I played Mass Effect 2 with all it's DLC's, enjoyed the hell of that game and always came back for more. I'm eagerly waiting for Mass Effect 3 and seeing that it's a different team than the annoying DA2 and BioWare did a Blizzard move and actually delayed the game I'm very optimistic. BTW I feel that Clint Marssel will do a masterpiece here.
