All servers on this list are currently public and with the exception of CS 1.6 and DoD are vanilla (CS 1.6 and DoD are using AMXMod at the moment). If you would like to request a private server, or you want a certain map or mod installed, please let me know and I'll see what I can do. Servers will be switched to private as needed, so if people want an in-house game just PM me on IRC
This list will be updated constantly as new servers are added. If you would like to request a server for a game that isn't on the list, please give me some information about the game and what you are looking for in the server. I don't play every FPS out there, so I may not know anything about the game you want. Also, while this is technically a thread for FPS servers, if you have a non-FPS game you would like a server for you're more than welcome to request it here.
Lastly, bear with me a bit as I haven't ran many of these servers in years, so some settings may not be optimized yet. This will also start off kinda slow until people start using these, but if you guys could idle in the IRC channel it would be much easier to get games going. Also, all servers are hosted in the US (Chicago datacenter), and I am working with the data center to reduce latency from EU connections. Bear with it for a few days 
Servers listed as "Coming Soon" have been approved and are awaiting install/configuration.
PLEASE IDLE IN IRC. This is the only way we will be able to get matches going, and the channel needs to build up a bit to do so. If you simply join a server at random, chances are it will be empty. Until I can get more public players joining the server, you will need to ask for games in IRC.

Activision, being the great company they are, has decided that the only place in the world allowed to run Black Ops servers is gameservers.com. So in theory I could rent a server from them for $1/slot each month, but I can't host one on my own box
Working on UT2004 at the moment, then BF2 next. Some of these are such a pain in the ass to get going on Linux.
Also, sorry these are located in the US. Chicago, to be exact. I don't have the option of relocating them to EU, either. It shouldn't be too terribly bad, though. Most EU players are getting <150 ping, which to me is more than playable enough (I usually have about 200 ping on EU servers and I can't tell a difference most of the time. But then again, I suck).

Yeah, I tossed up an IP in the TF2 thread last night but I don't have TF2 installed so I couldn't verify if it worked or not. You're welcome to try it now and let me know, though.

UT2004, TF2, and BF2 servers are technically up. I'm testing the right now to make sure everything is set up correctly. Next I will be working on a BF2: Project Reality server (just waiting on a liscence).

Pretty awesome. The starcraft community is so much nicer than the fps community, so it'll be nice to play with people who don't scream HAX and FAGGOT MOFO every 2 seconds.

Whoa BF2 and CS:S, I remember playing those a while back... don't even have them installed as of now. This might make me rethink that though. Man I'm going to be rusty as heck, since I went to console FPS for a while... lol I know consoles.

Team Fortress 2 server is up, although unconfigured. I'm working on setting access to all of these servers for you guys to change maps and stuff, but for now a lot of them are just default rotations. If you want a specific map for the time being, just let me know on IRC and I will change it.

You should clarify DoD 1.3 or DoD Source ! just as you did with CS 1.6 and CS Source, cause if it was a DoD 1.3 server id play, but not source..ewww :D

Hosted in the US, unfortunately. Seems most FPS players are in EU, but these are running with my Minecraft server, in which most players are US. Most people seem to be doing fine with <150ms, though. It's not optimal, but it's more than playable. I play on EU servers with 200+ latency all the time and don't really have any trouble. I wouldn't recommend it for tournaments or something, though

We have a few former professional DoD players that use the server, so you should be able to get some decent games going.

Not sure if it's on the list or not (it should be because I've had pubs join the server every now and then) but the easiest way to connect is using the console
Press ` and type "connect 184.154.49.130:27020"
Currently five people online playing so it's gotta be on your end somewhere. Might also want to check to make sure your ports are opened.

Activision doesn't allow dedicated servers for BC2. You have to purchase servers from a specific hosting company that they have an exclusive contract with, so I am unable to host one on my own server. I will see about purchasing one, though.

cs server is just a tad too laggy for us europeans I believe, but if it gets real popular ill prob still pop in there.
I usually have like 40-80 ms on US servers so dunno whats up

Checked out the Day of Defeat server, but it twas emtpy. Checked out CS as well getting ~140 ping there, so not bad, will probably join at a more convenient time for the americans to get some games.

Well, yeah. Hence why, and I stress this, people need to idle in IRC. You can't just join a server and expect people to know you're there. But if you're in IRC, you can ask for a match and people will join it.
Also, I'll try to advertise these servers publicly so maybe they will have players 24/7. And of course, if anyone from TL wants an in-house match, I will simply switch the server to private.

Deffinetly going to reinstall TF2 and CSS/CS 1.6 and join the games if i have time. Hopefully we get some fun TF2 games going on atleast, loved playing assasin in it and it's been a while.

I noticed that the TF2 server is named "Team Fortress 2". For those of us with more than a few servers in our favorites list, it might be convenient to name the server something more descriptive.
For example: "TL.net Team Fortress 2."

A lot of players only own or play certain games, though. So yeah... there may be some competition between a few of the servers, but overall it doesn't affect much. And people can freely choose to switch servers anyway, so if for example the CS:S server is dead because a lot of people are playing on the TF2 server, then it's easy enough to ask people to switch over to the CS:S server for a bit. Plus, pubs will fill in some slots eventually.

I honestly don't know. I would assume yes, as I'm using standard server clients and configs. It doesn't hurt to try joining, though.

Done! TF2 apparently doesn't generate a config file, so I had to manually create one; hence I overlooked that during setup. Some other servers aren't named yet, either, but I'm getting to those shortly.

I dont think you would actually want to join a US server for FPS games due to the latency. Sure your actual ping may say 200 (which is absurd) but your bullet registration is going to be utter crap. It will be like your shooting someone a second after they are already shooting you. FPS games suck unless the server is located relatively close to your region. Even 200 ping is practically unplayable...I played CS in CALeague at a fairly high level, and most people would refuse to play with ping over 100, let alone 200 lol.

Counter-Strike: Source server is possibly online. I don't own the game myself so I can't verify, but if anyone who does wants to connect to 184.154.49.130:27024 and try it out for me, that would be awesome.

@Serejai, I just checked out the TF2 server and had pretty good ping on the East Coast. In my opinion, SourceMod is pretty much a must for a TF2 server. Namely, being able to nominate maps or rtv if a map is unpopular is very helpful. I could probably make a list of a dozen custom maps that would be almost must haves on the server, but I won't as there are plenty of good stock maps. ctf_2fort sucks balls though. If the TF2 server is played on a lot though I'll try to recommend some custom maps that nearly every (good) server has.

Hop on IRC and help me out! I'm taking all suggestions for TF2 as I don't actually own the game myself yet, so I'm relying on you guys to voice what maps you want installed and rotated, and what mods (if any). I'll look at SourceMod and see if I can get it installed later tonight.

Unfortunately, as with Black Ops, you can't host dedicated servers on your own. You have to purchase them If the demand is there I'll consider it, though.

Will be frequenting the CSS and TF2 servers! Thanks Serejai! Please with the TF2 server leave it as close to stock as possible. Don't touch the respawn timers or maximum player counts. Sourcemod is a MUST though. Some stock maps do blow but there are some amazing customs that are good replacements.

I'll look into that then. Also, we've had a fair amount of skirmishes today across CS 1.6, CS:S, and TF:2, as well as a few people waiting for UT2004 and BF2R servers to come up. However, as said before, the amount of games depends on you guys idling in IRC. If IRC has more people, then more games will form. Play on the servers enough and pugs will start adding them to favorites, thus further increase the amount of games going on.
Basically, I'm doing what I can but in the end it's up to you guys to help each game server by hanging out on IRC (even if you don't talk) so we can get matches going as people request them, which in turn will drive pubs to play on our servers as well. It's a win/win for everyone. If you're afk, don't worry about it. Your presence alone helps maintain the IRC channel. And if you join and nobody responds to you, don't just leave after 30 seconds. Afk yourself and check back in a few minutes.
All in all, it's been a pretty good day considering this stuff just went online. Hopefully it will continue to expand a bit over the weekend ^_^

I used to be in a "top" french team on Day of defeat 1.3/Source, and a staff member of the main french dod community website; but i stopped playing last year..
Unfortunately i think the DoD1.3 server will be empty, because the game is "quite" dead now (and full of blatant cheaters, let's be honest)
You should try the source version, you got a better chance to gather people onit, unless you get the right map pool.

Oh god, Halo:CE? REALLY? I can toss something up, but I personally had nothing but problems with the PC version of that game. Multiplayer was soooooooooooooo laggy and unresponsive. It would be an excuse to give it another chance, though.
So yeah, we'll do that tomorrow then.
Also, few status updates:
UT2004 - Had to reinstall about 20 times because the linux patches are so buggy and corrupted... I won't get into it, but I think I have it working now and hopefully will be up shortly.
BF2 - Haven't started this yet, but will in the next few minutes. The files are downloaded, so I just need to install them.
BF2R - Waiting on a license to run this. Hopefully can have it up tomorrow.
Halo:CE - Will try to toss this up tomorrow.
Urban Terror - Will try to toss this up tomorrow.
Natural Selection 2 - Will try to toss this up tomorrow.
DoD:Source - Will install this later tonight.

I agree with this so much. Except that I don't have a legitimate copy of halo 1 so I'd prefer a Halo Trial server... man I used to be so unbelievably good at Halo Trial, but I haven't played in years...
PM me and Ill set you up. THe full verson of Halo is SOOOO much better, especially Custom Edition. I dont think that will be a problem as ICCUP is not legit either.
I remember being able to run a Halo CE server on the PC. I would recommend getting custom edition. There is also a dedicated server version of Halo. I think most of the lagg problems were due to the fact that Halo was ahead of its time and the computers of that time were too slow.

A TL DoD vanilla server tempts me to start playing that game again. Its a shame that DoD is pretty much dead now, though. Source just wasn't the same.

I will check your UT2004 server today, since I already have it installed. I am actually getting into that game for the first time and currently playing single player campaign. Can you host tournaments and leagues on your servers please? Some of these games are old so maybe ffa DM tournies since it might be difficult to get an entire team together.

I have updated each server to the DNS I use for my Minecraft servers at the moment. You guys are welcome to use Abyss's DNS, too. I've also put in a request to the TL staff to assign a TL.Net DNS, so we'll see where that goes.

I planned on it being maybe a once a week thing. Say, picking a day and having a big TL inhouse. Even if it's empty though, it doesn't hurt to throw one up.

Come on TL, idle in #tlfps and get these servers populated. There's a bot in there that tells you which servers have people on them, type !info players or !info (game).
Serejai has done such a great job with all of these servers, its a shame to see such little interest

I'm actually quite interested, but since I'm a poor nub the only FPS games I have are either cracked (MW1, etc.) or free (Urban Terror) ... really waiting for the Urban Terror server lol

I have created a Steam group specifically for these servers (I'm aware there is already a general TL.Net Steam group, but a) I have been unable to get in contact with any of the admins of it, and b) I felt that spamming non-fps players with announcements about the servers would probably suck for them).

Ports have changed for nearly all of the servers to better organize them for internal reasons. HL1 servers start at 27020, and Source servers start at 27030. Please update your favorites accordingly.
Also, for those who haven't done so already please join the steam group linked above. This will help supplement the IRC channel for finding matches, and I will also be hosting tourneys shortly which will be announced via the group.
Lastly, I apologize for the delay in getting Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2: Project Reality, Natural Selection 2, Halo: Combat Evolved, and Urban Terror servers up. Something came up and I have to go out of town for about a week, so I've been busy packing and trying to fix a few issues that arose. I'll still try my best to get a couple more servers up before I leave tomorrow, but the NS2 server is a complete pain in the ass, and I still haven't received a license for Project Reality.
Also, I believe Mino has our IRC bot working to it's full extent now. You can check how many players are in each server, what map is currently being used, and etc.
Additionally, if anyone would like to volunteer to help out in any way, it would be much appreciated. I could use everything from maps and settings to server administrators, advertisement to other FPS communities (so we can get some more matches going!), criticism, advice, etc. I could also use help from anyone experienced with running WINE on a CentOS5 system, as I've been trying to set up an NS2 server and a Diablo 2 realm with little success (both are windows-only).
Mino will be in charge of this while I'm gone, though I will try to find internet access whenever possible. If you have any suggestions or questions just bug him on IRC. I will check my PMs daily, too, so I can be contacted that way. Will try to work on the servers some while I'm gone as well.

For Urban Terror, it's probably a good idea to set the cyclemap and nextmap votes on, but I don't know the console commands for that.

So, Urban Terror server is up and running on liquid.stasysgaming.com:27960 with pretty much a default config, so any suggestions on what maps to put in the mapcycle is appreciated. I personally hadn't even heard of it, but looking at some videos, it looks like a lot of fun. I'm dying to try it, but don't really have the time to play atm. Will definitely try to get some games going once I can.

If there is a BF2 or Bad Company 2 server I would be playing for sure.
BF2, city maps and infantry only is awesome.

It has come to my attention that Black Ops is utter trash when it comes to server hosting, and not only are IP connections not allowed, but you can only change game settings from within the game, which I do not own. So until I can appoint someone as admin for the server, it will be running default settings.
You may access the server by searching for "Stasys Gaming TL Server (Public)"

neither ranked nor unranked, or anywhere else... nevermind...just found the server! ranked public server vac, no password no hardcore teamdeathmatch curently running with different maps locations: amsterdam, netherlands name: 000TL in red letters (can be easily found by category "server" and then scroll to the servers starting with T)
Awesome. Now I just need to figure out a way to help everyone join it easily.

currently there is no easy way to join a server, since you can't connect just by knowing the server-ip.
you either gotta manually find it on the server browser, get invited by a friend or already been there once and find it in your history or been smart and added it to your favourites...
the "feature" of joining servers in bo just by ip is disabled and will probably changed within the next patch (and nobody knows when that will be...)
with the current info about the server given it's really the easiest way to join by looking at the server browser and add it to your favourites (or if really needed maybe pm me your add and i can invite manually)

For people looking for the black ops server, its currently listed under the letter, T;
000TL <- in red
not on top of the server list, aparently 000 doesn't work for bumping your server to top

There are a lot of people on TL that play. Unfortunately there aren't very many who are willing to put in the effort to get a game going. Most people just join the server, see that it's empty, and then leave.
If you log on IRC you can usually get a CS game going fairly quickly, though.

You have to join the #tlfps on the quakenet IRC to set up games. If you and more people idle in there you'll always be able to find a game.

I've set up Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 servers. Will post ports tomorrow once I can verify they function properly.
Still working on NS, NS2, and PR servers. They're all a pain in the ass to get working.
I'll look into Gungame, too.

same here...out of all the ut titles, 99 and 3 are the most played! i personally also like them both way better than 04...

Yes. The servers were taken down due to lack of use. I may bring a few back up in the near future, but there honestly doesn't seem to be many FPS players on TL that want a private server. Most prefer playing public ones.

I can put some servers back up, but honestly despite the 15k views in this thread nobody was actually using them. Had a total of 37 people log in across 17 different game servers over the course of a month.
I was considering going with weekly tournies or something instead if the interest is there.

I play 1.6. I think it is impossible to be playing counter strike 1.6 without ESEA in the US. The public scene is dead etc. You will find more people to play and more games to play with on there, but gl finding a public server.

You should gauge the demand again by opening a new op so people would vote or whatever, and hopefully we can have some meaningful server(s) where we can pub but without rages, etc.
I'm all up for it. And with ~6000+ active people constantly on TL we can at least have 1 decent server running.

The issue wasn't so much a lack of players... it's that nobody wanted to take the initiative to play on a server.
People would join, see it's empty, then leave and never come back. It's like people just expected the server to be instantly full 24/7 or something. Without enough people willing to play a few hours a day until the server gets noticed by pubs, it's quite literally impossible to keep it running.
Polls don't seem to work too well, either. I polled in the Black Ops thread before purchasing a server. There were quite a few people who wanted one, and after I went out and spent the money on it I had a total of 3 people ever connect to it.
Again, I'd be more than happy to reopen a server but... I can't populate it. So unless the TL community puts in the effort to do so themselves, it's just going to remain empty like it did before.

It's mostly just getting enough people to commit to games on a daily basis. We got a few good 3v3s, and the occasional 4v4 in... but it's just not enough to 3v3 for two hours a day. One good way to start a population would be to create a team that could practice each day and get involved in clan wars or whatever.

Want to op a new thread on how many will commit to daily practices? Could be in a good timeframe, say 6-10 PM.

It was very frustrating. I would probably wait in there though if it had shown up, or at least make a post on the thread but I only got in once by adding someone through Steam, saved it to my favorites, and it never showed up later. Hell, the only servers I can ever see are from the US and Canada in that game, and on rare occasions I see only servers from other countries.
It feels like they butchered the server list in that game, so I don't think it's really fair to blame it on us.

I would like to humbly request a dedicated server for Monday Night Combat, its not a first Person Shooter, it is a 3rd person MOBA game and is still quite competitive and I know several TLers play it as I saw a thread about it not to long ago.
