Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap - This game is fucking awesome. I spent so many hours playing it as a young child, and I still play it on occasion.

Heroes of Might and Magic 2 - This game was my obsession before sc/bw came out. I spent countless hours playing it. Awesome game.

I'd say my most defining games were:

Secret of Mana (loving it!)
Lufia (even though i didn't ever have it and played it via a friend, i played it probably 3-4 times completely and with completing that cave with the random levels and huge number of levels where you couldn't die and ofc couldn't safe... man this was hard ^^)
Zelda on Nintendo, SNES and the first one on Gameboy, later on Ocarina of Time (didn't play other)
Diablo 1 and later on 2
Final Fantasy 7 (played others too but this definitely the most)
Starcraft (without broodwar, i played the original one much more and didn't have broodwar long time after it was released; plus back in the days i was mucho fan and stuff like 10 min no rush ^^)
Warcraft 3 (yes i played Warcraft2 too (dunno if Warcraft1, maybe a little bit) but not that long)

There is a lot of other stuff i played, but not that long. Like Dune 2, Lemmings, Baldurs Gate 1, Civilization 2 and Colonization (good one, definitely played it more than Civ 2, one of the first games i played probably ^^)!

And ofc, how could i forget...
Pokemon Blue edition ^^ didn't play any else, but this one definitely a lot...

forgot all those shooters... my first online game was the first Unreal Tournament, that was fun back then.. although i don't like FPS any more. But i definitely played Counter Strike the most of all those shooter games. Probably even more than many of the games mentioned at top but tbh it didn't really come to my mind, think i didn't really like it.

I only count the most memorable pre-PS2 games I played in my childhood.

Pokemon Red/Blue: Probably the most addicting game I played as a child. Bought a gameboy PURELY for this game

Crash Bandicoot: before I had a playstation, I used to always go over to my friend's house just to play this game. He had no memory card so I always wanted to see how far I could get each time. Managed to complete the game once

(without side missions of course).

My favorite of the 3 Digimon world games on the playstation. I gave up when I got stuck at one point and forgot what my mission objective was T_T. The world was huge as fuck.

Pepsiman: Traded with a friend a 14BD ($42) copy of Hercules (the game) for a pirated copy of this game. Totally worth it

Majesty: Just an awesome game when I played it. Got pretty damn addicted to the game. Looks kinda stupid now that I know more about PC gaming XD

Tekken 3: My favorite pre-PS2 fighting game. I've played a lot of Marvel vs Capcom with my friends before but Tekken was what I thought I could go on to play forever XD

Marvel vs Capcom: I owned my friends so much on this game XD. I preferred Tekken but I loved all the flashy shit MvC had to offer.

Defiantly my most memorable games would be
StarCraft: This was the first game that really got me into gaming, having 5 man lan parties were the best. Since we were like 9 we wouldn't let any one attack with more than 10 units, aka tickle attacks. I remember when we had to get our parents to type in cheat codes because we couldn't spell.
Diablo 2: My favorite RPG of all time.
Lemmings: played this when I was really young, but was always a fun game.
Warlords: First game I ever played. Whenever I went to my grandparents, all the kids would get together and play it. Since it got removed from that computer I've never been able to find it though

Pokemon and Zelda Gameboy games: My parents would never get me a console, so I had a gameboy and computer until like 13.
Zoombini's : Another game I always played at grandparents. I still remember when you make the pizzas for the angry trees and they say "There's something on here I don't like".
Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure: Almost forgot this one, this was the first game I ever had at my house.

This thread brings back so many good memories :D

First RPG I've played pokemon yelloww!

Spent countless hours on silver replayed the game upwards 20+ and when i stopped replaying the last save came to about 500hours

Played mini-games SO FREGIN MUCHH Pokemon stadium 2

Got me into FPS 007 golden eye i used to always go over to cousins hosue to play against him

CS who could forgett

and who could forget

got me into MMORPG's Ragnarok online

spent my 8th-11th grade years playing wow haha

This game changed my life. :'( I have never seen a game with more attention to detail and top notch story than this (yeah it's convoluted and confusing, but if you get into it it'll open worlds man.. OPEN WORLDS).

hmm the first game i have ever played and that turned me into the nerd i am today was Heretic.

I used to play it with my dad on his friend's blazing 100mhz pc.

Funny thing is that i actually downloaded the game for dosbox(ms dos emulator) recently and the game is still so awesome. It has some great ides and awesome atmosphere and amazing music...

other very influential games were half life, warcraft 2, starcraft bw and homam 3
