Ok TL, time for some nostalgia!
Post a picture from every game that you played so much during your childhood.
I'll start:
Crash bandicoot, what a classic
Heroes of Might and Magic 3, god knows how many times I played this together with my friends
"Why do we all have to wear these ridiculous ties?!"
No explanation needed
Not a childhood game, but definitely one of the biggest games of my life.
Obvious, still playing it, but I have so many good memories of it. I remember first discovering SC1 when it felt so gory and scary... Good times
Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow, a game that no one probably knows about. It was still the first video game I ever got addicted into, so many good times when me and my sister were both too scared to fight the bosses.
It's fun to have these threads every now in a while so that people can relate to similar childhood memories. Now it's your turn to post

I played this game before I even had an Internet access:
good old times
|
Goldeneye 64
Mario Party 2
Civilization 2
Diablo 1 and 2
and ofcourse..
Starcraft! (Original + Broodwar)
Many other games too, but these ones give me the biggest grins.

Shining Force II
Loved the game back then, and when I played through it on an emulator only recently I still loved it.
|
Quest for Glory 1. I think it took me about 4 years to complete this.
Settlers 1. I took me a year to realize how you could expand (use that one building that had seamingly no purpose). Also, all the menus were really not intuitive to use. I still don't know what everything means.

The Logical Journey of the Zoombinis
The Cluefinders 3rd Grade Adventure
The Cluefinders 4th Grade Adventure
Majesty
Roller Coaster Tycoon (1 and 2)
Age of Empires 2
Age of Mythology
Mario Party
Super Mario 64
Bomberman Hero
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Pokemon Yellow
Kirby's Dream Land
Donkey Kong Country
So much nostalgia.
EDIT: I forgot Super Smash Bros! How could I forget Super Smash Bros??

Strategic Conquest. Played on an old school Macintosh that had like, a 4 megabyte hard drive. Game was awesome. Would randomly generate the world map and you could set the AI to a difficulty between 1 and 15. I was under 10 at the time. I could beat up to level 5 or so regularly and my Dad and brother could do 7-9. Could also play against each other via the standard "take turns" complete with a 4 character password to so the other guy couldn't peek at your stuff when his turn was up. Also let you build stuff faster in multiplayer to keep the game from crawling too much. If anybody knows where to find it/download a copy/remade version I would love you forever.
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. Along with some shitty NHL game, it was the first game I got with my GameBoy Pocket when I was 13. Took a month long trip to Tasmania, Australia to visit relatives with my mom shortly after. Thanks to large quantities of batteries my Dad bought me + the hockey game being ass, I played a lot of Mario during that month when I was bored. Honorable mention to Wario Land.
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. Good times, even if it was an educational game in disguise.
Load Runner baby. Also played it on the aforementioned Mac in black and white. Designing levels was always a blast. Think I still have the disc somewhere too. Can't remember if I let a friend borrow it or not.
The old one. Good shit.
Rest of my early games were post GameBoy purchase (spent a good portion of my childhood without a gaming system beyond the household PC - had GI Joes and the great outdoors) are fairly common like Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Pokemon generations 1 and 2 and junk like that.

First RTS game I've ever played. Starcraft 64, and I still have it!
Had this on the Sega Saturn... ahh, I can hear the song from the first stage already
Then the first RTS I've played on the PC
and shamelessly placing this in my childhood games...

Super Mario World
Countless childhood hours spent mastering this game and I still enjoy busting it out every now and then.
Rampage World Tour
This game would have been half of what it is if not for it's multiplayer capabilities. Badass.
Goldeneye, Super Smash Bros 1, SC:BW, Crash Bandicoot and Diablo/D2 were already mentioned so I won't add them but I played the shit out of all those games as a kid.

Just outted my age i think.

Ok, seriously, that STILL looks so good. I miss AoE games.

Although I played a lot of StarCraft, Diablo, WarCraft and tons of other games, there are three that immediately came to my mind when reading the thread's title, due to the amount of time I spent with them and the fun I had.
SimCity2000
Fallout 2
Baldur's Gate 2

such a bitch to play
And does anyone remember a pc game 2d game where u try to collect better parts to build a car/blimp, tons of doors and jumping, (maybe monkeys?) and at the end the level you get to watch the car/blimp compete in a race with an evil scientist guy
|
WTF guys??? No Monkey Island? Best games I ever played!
|
The AoE2 graphics were insanely good for their time.

I memorised every line.
