Post a picture from every game that you played so much during your childhood.
I'll start:
Crash bandicoot, what a classic
Heroes of Might and Magic 3, god knows how many times I played this together with my friends
"Why do we all have to wear these ridiculous ties?!"
No explanation needed
Not a childhood game, but definitely one of the biggest games of my life.
Obvious, still playing it, but I have so many good memories of it. I remember first discovering SC1 when it felt so gory and scary... Good times
Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow, a game that no one probably knows about. It was still the first video game I ever got addicted into, so many good times when me and my sister were both too scared to fight the bosses.
It's fun to have these threads every now in a while so that people can relate to similar childhood memories. Now it's your turn to post
Quest for Glory 1. I think it took me about 4 years to complete this.
Settlers 1. I took me a year to realize how you could expand (use that one building that had seamingly no purpose). Also, all the menus were really not intuitive to use. I still don't know what everything means.
Strategic Conquest. Played on an old school Macintosh that had like, a 4 megabyte hard drive. Game was awesome. Would randomly generate the world map and you could set the AI to a difficulty between 1 and 15. I was under 10 at the time. I could beat up to level 5 or so regularly and my Dad and brother could do 7-9. Could also play against each other via the standard "take turns" complete with a 4 character password to so the other guy couldn't peek at your stuff when his turn was up. Also let you build stuff faster in multiplayer to keep the game from crawling too much. If anybody knows where to find it/download a copy/remade version I would love you forever.
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. Along with some shitty NHL game, it was the first game I got with my GameBoy Pocket when I was 13. Took a month long trip to Tasmania, Australia to visit relatives with my mom shortly after. Thanks to large quantities of batteries my Dad bought me + the hockey game being ass, I played a lot of Mario during that month when I was bored. Honorable mention to Wario Land.
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. Good times, even if it was an educational game in disguise.
Load Runner baby. Also played it on the aforementioned Mac in black and white. Designing levels was always a blast. Think I still have the disc somewhere too. Can't remember if I let a friend borrow it or not.
The old one. Good shit.
Rest of my early games were post GameBoy purchase (spent a good portion of my childhood without a gaming system beyond the household PC - had GI Joes and the great outdoors) are fairly common like Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Pokemon generations 1 and 2 and junk like that.
Countless childhood hours spent mastering this game and I still enjoy busting it out every now and then.
Rampage World Tour
This game would have been half of what it is if not for it's multiplayer capabilities. Badass.
Goldeneye, Super Smash Bros 1, SC:BW, Crash Bandicoot and Diablo/D2 were already mentioned so I won't add them but I played the shit out of all those games as a kid.
Although I played a lot of StarCraft, Diablo, WarCraft and tons of other games, there are three that immediately came to my mind when reading the thread's title, due to the amount of time I spent with them and the fun I had.
And does anyone remember a pc game 2d game where u try to collect better parts to build a car/blimp, tons of doors and jumping, (maybe monkeys?) and at the end the level you get to watch the car/blimp compete in a race with an evil scientist guy

YES! I had that game. Super Solvers- Gizmos and Gadgets.
i feel old... my age will be revealed from this thread lol
these are some of the game i used to play when i was a little kid. i used to play these in family computer (you guys probably don't know this game console). i'm glad these games were revived in game boy except for the first one though.
1. twin bee
2. mappy
3. excite bike
4. super mario - of course, classic!
5. contra - i still remember the cheat code to have 30 lives!!! up up down down left right left right a b select start lol

it's really called NES (nintendo entertainment system). and I'd list all the games you did, except the 1st one + rockman/megaman
1st game ever to had huge impact on me was 4D-Stunts
It had built-in track editor, which helped sparked rival-play between me and my brothers. One creates a track, sets a record and the other two tried to beat it. Needless to say, I was the best when it came down to racing games.
2nd huge impact game, was Red Baron by Dynamix.
3rd game - Civilization
Then came others, like WarCraft : Orcs vs. Humans, Diablo I, Need For Speed : Road & Track, System Shock I & II and so on.
Jazz Jackrabbit First game I ever played extensively, was a pretty awesome game as far as I can remember
Rise of the Triad Probably the earliest shooter I played, very fun game.
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Spent ages playing this game, a lot of fun!
Diablo 1+2 Still playing d2 atm each ladder reset, such a replayable game.
Runescape Played this for 6+ years, involved in top clanning scene for several years. Had loads of fun over the years, and was lucky to be playing during the golden age of clanning. Above picture was 5 year anniversary of our clan (which is now dead, unfortunately ). This is probably the game I played the most over the years.
Red Alert 1+2 Never played this online, but loved playing it singleplayer. Very good RTS.
Rollercoaster Tycoon I'dd spent ages trying to make the most awesome rollercoaster park
Morrowind Greatest RPG I ever played, amazing immersion and a guargantian mod database made this game a timespender.
GODS Prince of Persia Raptor Budokan Beer Tapper Lode Runner Mortal Combat Streets of Rage and a million other beat 'em ups, that I don't remember the names of. Dune 1 Warcraft 1 and 2 Doom Duke Nukem Desert Strike
Me & my friends pretty much spent every moment not at school playing Red Alert & Fifa/WC98 on Playstation! When Red Alert 2 came out we were a bit older but still got back together to play it every day.
The difference is those guys still swear by C&C games to this day and I can't even play them anymore after getting into wc3/sc.
Commander Keen for the win! This was the game that started it all for me, me and my sisters used to play this for hours before my mother would kick us off the computer.
All of that on a super 16 colors screen ^^ I got a big surprise when my father changed our computer to a 486DX66 with VGA graphics ^^ everything looked better
kudos to you if you know what that game is, i played that the first time when i was only 7-8 years old, thats where i learned the meaning of "condom" rofl...
also first played this when i was a little younger than 10 years old... i grew up just fine
Many things I enjoyed playing when I was a bit younger have been covered, but I felt the need to add a few more:
About this last one - did anyone else have Klik & Play? It was a really interesting "game creation game" that allowed you to make your own side scrolling shooters (and other games in that vein). Made by Maxis (the SimCity people).
i feel old... my age will be revealed from this thread lol

ah yeah! NES, totally forgot the other name. my brother loves megaman, we had a notebook writing all the codes after each stage... it's the journey to dr. willy (wily).
Man this thread brings back a lot of nostalgia, i must have played a lot of this games way back then, WC2, Super mario 64, super mario party 2 (so much fun with friends), DI and II, SC, LoZ OOT and Majora's mask, all of the Zelda's, legend of mana, Donkey Kong(s) etc. HOwever im just gonna add one i have seen yet!
Well here are some of the best memories of my childhood gaming. I was quite the little gamer, so this is a very very small percentage of what I loved playing. I missed quite a few in the pictures.
This is the best game I have ever played. I can still pick it up and just play, I've memorized every little inch of it, so much enjoyment I have gotten out of this. On my original save I got 87 rainbow swords, that means I did new game + 87 times.
What else can be said, Westwood were amazing competition for Blizzard back in the day, despite me liking both of the company's games. Now ever since EA killed off CnC, only Blizzard is left standing in the RTS superiority. CNC was an incredible game when it came out, mind-blowing.
I had not gotten into Tiberian Sun or Red Alert, but when this game came out, Red Alert 2, I had to play it. My best friend Daniel and I spent countless hours laddering. He achieved 5th in the US and I got 6th in the US (he's always been better than me at games). This game was the most competitive I have ever played an RTS.
When I was quite young I would always play Destiny of an Emperor. Never had beaten it, but I REALLY loved playing the first half of the game.
Dragon Warrior was the first RPG I REALLY played. I played Ultima, but barely played it at all and gave up. My grandma bought me and my brother a NES to play at her house when we waited to go to school and waited for our parents to pick us back up after school when they were off of work. My grandmother decided that she should get a game that would encourage my addiction to reading (I was reading the newspaper adequately at 4). She saw on the back of the box lots of words. So I played this game, but I complained to her that I couldn't beat any of the bosses/dungeons because I had no time to level my character. She basically learned how to power-level my characters, so I could come home from school and get to the next place. My grandma became addicted to the awesomeness of RPGs. She turned into an rpg fanatic, she has like 30 NES rpgs, about 30 SNES RPGs, about 20 PSX rpgs, about 20 PS2, RPGS, every single RPG for the DS. Yes, my Grandma plays video games, more than me, all because of this game.
My older brother and I used to play this for HOURS, and he would tease me about how bad I was at it, and I would cry and get mad lol.
When this game came out, RPGs changed forever, they became incredibly dramatic, storyline-oriented, and beautiful. I was blown away by FF7.
Final Fantasy VIII was an incredible 1-up to FF7, and blew me away even more. I know it gets a lot of hate, but that's from people that don't really appreciate the intricacies of all of the character storylines, the plot, and story elements that make it stand out. Also they didn't understand the depth of the building up that was near limitless in the game. My buddy Daniel and I, best friend for years, played this game so much, beat it so many times.
This is the best sRPG out there (strategy RPG), bar none. It was incredible playing through it the first time, and the second, and the third, and so on. Final Fantasy Tactics raised the bar, yet no game has reached it yet.
My brother and I played this since before I can remember, my Dad had an old Atari, and before the Commodore 64 and the NES at my grandmothers, we would play this at home. Good ol frogger.
Herzog Zwei was the first RTS I had ever played, and in many video game analyst's minds it was the first true RTS ever made. I consider myself lucky to have played this, it was a mind-altering experience, having to think about timings of multiple units, strategies, in such depth, and so quickly.
Lufia 2 is an incredibly simple RPG, right around the time that RPGs just started to be complicated. It was a very relaxing experience, and had very challenging puzzles in some of the dungeons. Lufia series is famous for it's dungeon puzzles. Amazing story for it's time.
Best Megaman ever made, Megaman 2, nothing else comes close. I can still play this start to finish, barely dying, or not dying at all, since I made it near routine as a child.
Phantasy Star IV was the first game that ever made me cry. I mean literally, the story is beautiful, there are very vivid, real characters, and without spoiling anything since I know most people here haven't played it, crazy things happen to so you just must play it. This is one of the best RPGs ever made, an unsung hero of the Sega Genesis RPGs.
Phantasy Star Online was the first online RPG I played. It was the first time I heavily tied into a community for a game (I was tied into Red Alert 2's community a LITTLE bit, but not quite this much). Just an amazing game, had well over 1000 hours logged in my main character in 3 months. I failed high school classes and got sent to a delinquent school for all of the absences over this game.
One of the staff members at the site PSO-World at the time, made a topic about this new game coming to America. Watashiwa made a site called RO-World, and Ragnarok Online's Alpha test began. I played this game forever with my buddy Daniel. We revolutionized Agi swordsmen, before they were good, which led into Agi Knights eventually, I made topics on how to level agi knights that were stickied, I was hot shit. Loved this game.
Shining Force. One of the first, but not the first, strategy RPGs out there. It was INCREDIBLE, so straight forward, light fantasy story. Vibrant characters and places, incredible music that I can still whistle off of the top of my head (actually I can do this with almost all games I played). It just felt so good to play over and over and over again. I miss that feeling.
This has already been here, but it was the first time I played a game over a modem/internet connection. Battle.net was awesome, so competitive back then, playing against my Buddy daniel on a dialup direct connection.
Super Mario RPG was surprisingly one of the most amazing RPGs ever made, despite it sounding like it would be a catastrophe. I remember being skeptical, then I played it and was absolutely blown away by how near-perfect it was.
Other games/game series because this shouldn't be TOO long of a post. Master of Orion X-Com UFO Defense Wing Commander Sim City Sim Earth Chaos Control Firefight Terminal Velocity Raptor Strikers 1945 plus World of Warcraft (k wasn't a child here, nor for some of the others, but still amazing memories)
Grandia 1 - My favorite RPG to this day, beats FFVII.
Fire Emblem 4-5-6 on GBA, got my into sRPGS
Age of Empires 1 + 2. In AoE1, i was basically an expert at NS (Archer Wars), where you could get 200+ Heavy Horse Archers in under 6 minutes, position on cliffs, kill your enemy workers, ect.
I am 20, so I was not into games until about age 12, when the PS2 came out. Since then, I have played countless games from NES, SNES, GBA, gamecube, PS1 using emulators, and have owned around 100 PS2 games and 30-40 PS3 games.
Grandia was the first game that I ever DESIRED though. I got it for free from my parents friends, played it for 38 hours and got to the end of disc 1..... and found out there was a SECOND DISC. I was crushed. It took 3 orders from the internet to actually get a second disc that worked.
I played many games before it, but this was the game that I remember the most. Even though I was a child, I enjoyed it. Then many years later I returned to it, to fully understand the storyline. It is just so beautiful - brb, replaying. <3 Rinoa.
Too many to mention, but this page has so many of them. http://hipe.ch/_archiv/game/game.html The rest of you guys at the 30 mark and upwards will have many nerdgasms.

Damn this is going to ruin my mood for the day. I'm all nostalgic right now.
I mean.. Supaplex? Dune? Stunts? Oh wow. Years of my life!

Haha, these and Pac-man for the original Nintendo Family Compauter are my first games too. And
Pokémon Blue (Yellow and red aswell, but blue was my main cartridge!)
Managed to get 150 pokémons! Got mew with a cheat, so that doesn't count :/
Crash Bandicoot (1, 2 and 3)
Crash Team Racing
Spyro the Dragon
I played these platformers soooo much.
GTA
Oh this theme song, how much I love you.
GTA2
Maybe not exactly my childhood, but I feel like mentioning this masterpiece I'm not gonna link the picture of the cover, but rather something that haunts me still to this day.
Total Annihilation My first ever RTS-game, i remember playing this when i was 4-5 and not understanding shit but still having a blast. This got me into RTS-gaming and i'm forever thankful for it, also this game had the best classical music soundtrack ever fucking made
Pokémon My first Pokémon game was Red, my sister got blue so i played through red first then i played through blue. After that i got myself every Pokémon game released up until Sapphire and Ruby. I also was alot into Pokémon cards when i was a kid, but after my stack of cards was stolen i stopped with it :/
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (And Ages) Best Gameboy-games ever motherfucking released, played both of the Oracle-versions and beat them several times. Beautiful game with amazing music, enjoyed every single bit of the game. I tried to play through Seasons recently but got stuck on one of the bosses, can't believe i beat these games multiple times when i was just in kindergarden-first grade.
RuneScape I know alot of people hate this game, but i don't really care. I started playing RS when i was 9-10~ years old and have played it on and off ever since. The game is both addictive and fun, frequent content updates makes the game ever changing (sometimes the patches are good, sometimes they are literally gamebreakingly bad). Anyone who haven't tried RuneScape has to try it, they update the graphics with time so it really isn't as bad as people say it is.
Digimon World 2003/3 My father bought me this game when i was 7-8~, played the game alot and loved it (it's so much better than all the Pokémon games combined now that i think of it). I downloaded this game earlier this year for my PS1 emulator since the CD is broken and it's still amazingly fun to play, anyone with a PS1 emulator GOTTA get this game right now!

There's just too many games to mention. What was another one of these, 11th hour? I agree, 7th guest was sick. Loved those games on multiple CDs.
and ofc starcraft. Ever since ~2000. But I did mostly ums for a long time.
I also played madden 1998? with a friend a lot on his pc in third grade. I think this is a pic of madden 2000.
And in second grade I played some baseball game on the pc with another friend that had breakfast cereal characters playing. It was the trix rabbit, the honey bee, count chocula, etc etc. But I can't find a pic anywhere.

Remember phantasmagoria? it was fun, way too easy but came with 7 cd's total
11th hour wasn't even half as good as the 7th guest imo..
Warcraft 2 - My (7 years older) brother once made me play this game until I cried
Quake 2 - Since Quake 2 (and Action Quake 2) there has been one fps to hold my attention as long, Warsow, funny, built on the q2fusion engine.
I won't link three images for the next, but Ultima Underworld, Ultima Underworld 2 and Ultima 7: The Black Gate are all fantastic games. Mostly the underworlds though. So good.
Since I haven't seen this one mentioned yet: Dark Castle on the old Mac OS 6. Countless hours with my brother, and we never ever managed to finish the game. Got the shield no problem, fireballs we got close, but the middle door was just impossible.
Jeez, this basically reads like my autobiography...
- Duck Tales (NES, first game I actually beat)
- Ghosts and Goblins (NES, didn't even come close to beating it) - Street Fighter 2 (SNES) - Super Mario Kart (SNES) - Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES) - Tetris Attack (SNES, I still play this today, along with Pokemon Puzzle League for harder AI. Honestly, I intend to host of commentated tournament if there's interest, and if I can figure out how to get emulated netplay working. Stay tuned!)
- Sim City 2000 (PC) - Warcraft II (PC)
- Seven Kingdoms (PC, actually, I think this deserves a screenshot, it's THAT obscure)
- Total Annihilation (PC) - The Incredible Machine (PC) - The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain (PC)
- The Logical Journey of the Zoombinis (PC) - Treasure Math Storm (PC)
- Math Blaster: Secret of the Lost City (PC)
- Carmen SanDiego: Junior Edition (PC) - Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen (SNES - still gets me addicted whenever I decide to play through it. The N64 version, Person of Lordly Calibur is far superior - actually I'd put it in the running for best tactical RPG of all time, it doesn't get nearly enough love here - due to the dropping of the Charisma system, as well as the story, but alas the N64 version was not a part of my childhood.)
- FFVII (PS, let me make myself clear: I do not like this game at all now. However, I do admit to spending an entire summer trying to resurrect a certain character without using gameshark)
- Megaman Legends (PS, have played the sequel since then, but I'm just salivating for a third installment! C'mon Capcom, gogogogo!)
I used to have an Atari 2600 with games like ET and whatnot... which, btw, was THE most frustrating game in the world to play... My uncle had a Colecovision, and any time we were over there it was either that or pinball for the kids to play. We got a Packard Bell 386 computer back in the day, and it had such wonderful DOS games like Commander Keen, Biomenac, the original side scrolling duke nukem games (or really any game where you had to hold ctrl and alt to shoot / jump / whatever), text adventures like Amnesia and Escape from NY, Castle of the Winds, Dungeons of Drakklor, pretty much all the Moraff's world games, King's Quest, and Ken's Labyrinth... We also had some wolfenstein type game called Blake Stone or something like that... I miss my 386/486 games =0\
Obligatory pictures of an Atari 2600 and a Colecovision...
The demo had 1 map and you got 40 turns, it was the first place I learned to multitask when I was only 3 or 4 years old, I remember how happy I was to capture 48 castles in the 40 turns.
I'll just throw these in here. Ive also played the obvious ones like wc2, contra, starcraft, prince of persia 1, red alert, c&c and stuff like that. The only console i ever owned was a NES, got my pc around 99'
I found almost all games that were important to me (even LIERO :D - so awesome), but i can't belive Jagged Alliance 2 hasn't been posted yet, one of the most intense games ever!

Mario kart 64 Super Mario 64 Super Smash Bros Starcraft Starfox 64 Sonic Puzzle Bubble Time Crisis 3 and 4 Jurassic Park at the arcade as well Goldeneye
Golden Sun/The Lost Age (wow can't believe I almost left this out lol) This GBA game made pixellation look... good O_o
Legend of the Mystical Ninja
Advance Wars Played this SOOOO much before I got into SSBM and eventually SC... AWBW!
And a bunch that have already been posted several times already: C&C: Red Alert/Counterstrike/Aftermath C&C: Tiberian Sun/Firestorm C&C: Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge SC/BW (singleplayer only... with cheats. I thought the computer was so hard back then) Fire Emblem 6/7/8 Pokemon R/B/Y Pokemon G/S Super Mario World Jet Force Gemini Super Smash Bros Gizmos & Gadgets Logical Journey of the Zoombinis Math Munchers Ice Climbers (lol so random - if it weren't for Smash Bros, I doubt I would have remembered the name) Contra III: The Alien Wars Ex (OMG so many good times playing co-op) The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse (lol the name and story are so silly, but it was actually quite a decent challenge. Also it was my cousin's Chinese version so I had no idea what was going on)
And I guess these weren't exactly from my childhood but I just had to mention them:
Not going to post pictures I'll just be repeating:
PC: -Warcraft 2 -Doom 2 Played those 2 first, and now in no particular order because I have no idea what I played/watched first after this (had lots of brothers and only 1 or 2 comps so I watched a lot too) -Quake -Master of Orion 2 -Settlers 2 -Age of Empires 1-->2 -Duke Nukem 3D -Diablo 1/2 -X-wing vs Tie Fighter -Hyperspace!! -SC//BW
Megadrive! Sonic 2 Streets of Rage 2 Super Street Fighter 2 Eternal Champions
And these has already been mentioned: Golden Eye 64 Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Age of Empires 2 Twisted Metal 1 and 2 Prince of Persia 1 and 2 Doom Duke Nukem 3D Contra Dune Mortal Combat 3 Grand Theft Auto 1 North and South Crash Team Racing Command & Conquer 1 and 2
I got this in a bundle pack. It was like 16 DOS games for $9 my dad bought for me. This was seriously one of the best games I've ever played to this day. SO nostalgic.
1. Battle City: Such an addictive game... There was a mod called "Missile Tank" that allow the enemy tanks to eat the power-ups which made the game much more fun. Strangely enough, the two people I remember playing this game with are both girls (a girl of my age and my relative who is 2 year older than me).
2. Contra + Super Contra: Probably the only games I remember playing with my dad.
3. Jackal: There was a weird bug in my NES that make the game sometimes crash when there was a yellow tank that I somehow still remember till this day.
4. Bomberman, Circus Charlie, Excite Bike, Gun Smoke, Ice Climber, Ikari Warriors, Joe & Mac, M.U.S.C.L.E, Side Pocket, Tetris, The legend of Kage, 1943: The battle of Midway, Yie Ar Kung Fu, Rush'n Attack - All so dear and close...
1. A game with a boy carrying a suitcase (or a bag?) going left to right like any other 2D game. It's really bugging me that I can't find the name of this game (I did make a blog on TL about this but no one could find it).
2. Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers:
3. Dragon Ball Z Buyuu Retsuden: Too bad there are now no where to find the awesome moves of this game.
1. Biker Mice from Mars: BEST GAME EVERRRR!!!! I have orgasm every time I play it. Me and my friend used to do rock-paper-scissor to decide which game to play (me: Biker mice, him: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
2. Sunset Riders: This game is too hard for me now.
3. Super Bomberman 3: Can't play this game alone.
4. Super Mario World
5. Top Gear 2: I always played this game alone. Very addictive.
6. Tetris Attack (Panel De Pon): Oh this game... It was crazy popular here. There are still many people in Vietnam who play this game competitively now. There is usually one SNES next to the PS2's in the console bangs just for this game. (I suck at it btw).
The how-can-I-forget PS1 days: I didn't know it would change my life forever when my dad brought home a PS1.
1. The one and only Final Fantasy IX: I took nearly 4 years to complete this game since there was no internet back then to find walkthroughs and tips, and broken discs + memory cards didn't help either... I once walked ~1,5 miles just to buy a disc. (that was a long distance for a kid...).
2. Final Fantasy VIII: Probably my first PS1 game, got spoiled from the beginning to the end by my brother (he was a live walkthrough)
3. Twisted Metal 2: My best friend became short-sighted because of this game. I didn't play it with him though.
4. Yugioh! Forbidden Memories: I just played it a few hours ago.
5. Parasite Eve II: IMHO a much better game than Resident Evil. My dad also played a lot but never got to the end. (I did).
6. The Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross and Dino Crisis 2: Not as memorable as the above games, but still have a nice place in my collection.
There are more, but these are what I can remember for now. And no PC games, since I only played SC, CS and Diablo II and I wasn't really a child anymore when I played those games.
I'll be the one who admits it. This probably ruined a lot of my highschool experience and has certainly shaped me into the kind of hardcore gamer that I am today. Gamer endurance for the win
Mostly obscure Mac games from some demo disc my mum brought home attached to a mac magazine. I'd be really surprised if anyone knew:
Munchies:
Factory: The Industrial Devolution
Taskmaker
Unfortunately these games all ran on OS.9, which is no longer supported and is kind of a bitch to emulate.
Also on the disc:
Warcraft: Orcs and Humans (played the 2 missions in the demo dozens of times)
Escape Velocity (Great series that runs on modern windows machines)
Sim City 2000 (So many wasted hours)
Gosh this is getting me so nostalgic. These are the games from my really early childhood... I'd guess from ages 8-12
Although I love pc games from the late 90's and early 2000's (Fallouts, Planescape Torment, Grim Fandango, Starcraft, Diablo2) It would sort of be a lie to classify them as childhood games. They're more teenageish.

This was the first game I ever pirated (or maybe it was just a demo i dunno). My dad dialed in to a BBS and pulled this game off of there, and I was just STUNNED. "y...you got a video game over the PHONE LINE???"
Anyway, yeah it kicked ass. and so did:

I totally forgot that game was a Duke Nukem game, though! I remember playing it a lot but never associated it with the 3D duke nukem games (which I never really played, but heard a lot about).
Anyway, if you recognise my ID, you'll know my most influential childhood game:
Arcade Games TMNT's Arcade Street Fighter 2, CE, & Hyper Fighting Mortal Kombat 1 & 2 Area 51 & Maximum Force Time Crisis 1 & 2 Tekken & Virtua Fighter Die Hard The Arcade Jurassic Park NFL Blitz Simpsons Arcade Xmen Arcade Killer Instinct Soul Caliber

N64 Goldeneye 64 Super Mario 64 Doom 64 Duke Nukem 64 Zelda : The Ocarina Of Time WCW/NWO World Tour & Revenge Waverace 64 Cruisin' USA Starcraft 64 (omg it sucked so hard, playing with the 64 controller is akin to having 20 apm on the pc version) Turok : Dinosaur Hunter NFL Blitz 64
Playstation 2 Metal Gear Solid 2 & Snake Eater Scarface : The World Is Yours GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas Gran Turismo 4
Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 1 & 2
PS3 Metal Gear Solid 4 Wanted : Weapons Of Fate
That's all I can remember right now...I know that I left plenty out.
Beeing a nintendo-kid i had almost all the great SNES-RPGs. In fact, i think the SNES is still uncontested in the amount of quality RPG per console.
I'm still getting shivers when i see that titlescreen and hear the music. So beautiful.
While Secret of Evermore was never as popular and probably not as good, i still like the story a lot and i had really great graphics for the time.
Illusion of Time (aka Illusion of Gaia) had a beautiful story, made me cry at the end. Also nice fighting system and some more serious topics. Great game.
Terranigma had possibly the best theme music i've ever heard. <3
My cousin who was 7 years older than me had this one on his computer. I played it almost every time I went over. He wasn't a big fan of games so I usually had to beg. He would drive and I would aim the gun. It's like mario kart with tanks. So much wacky stuff could happen. Man that was fun.
For whatever reason tanks aren't as cool as they were in the 90's.
what game is this? my eyes haven't laid eyes on these pixels since my dad was playing it like 12+ years ago lol holy fuck.
Skimming through this thread made me realize how many works of art have been made and nearly forgotten within our lifetime and the evolution of the computer. I wonder if anyone will be playing some of these games hundreds of years from now like they are classics or something. Seems plausible that a historian or something could be playing brood war centuries from now.
God this thread made me remember so much games I forgot I even played. Feeling all nostalgic and old now. Got me thinking of all my youth and the arcades I used to go to when on vacation etc.
For posterity sake another few great games on which I spent a lot of my time:
Zork 1
Hexxagon
Major Stryker
Darkwing Duck (NES)
Heroes 2
Warhammer: Dark Omen
Armymen 2
Dethkarz
And lots and lost that are all ready mentioned or I have still forgotten
Only system I had before a shared computer in high school was a gameboy (parents weren't big on me playing video games :/) Pokemon was the first game I ever played, I loved it.
All the kids in my development used to play N64 at my next-door neighbor's house, favorites were smash and goldeneye.
In middle school and early high school we played AoE2 in the computer classes, some kid kept finding new places to hide the game folder on the public drive xD.
And there was this racing game (late eighties / early nineties probably) in 3 colors (purple/Blue/Black probably). Where you saw through the front window of your car and you could shoot at the other drivers. Every time you destroyed one of them you got a piece of information about them. Like what their favorite food was, how old they were, where they lived etc.
After the race you could upgrade your car with better rockets, better armor etc.
If somebody knows how this game was called I'm eternally grateful. It's bugging me for some time now.

The game with the wolf is Altered Beast. Hopefully arcade and not Sega lol.
The first video games I were exposed to were LoZ 1 and 2, and Dragon Warrior. My wee old grandmother had played through them a dozen times, gotten every heart, found every secret, she was a game guru back then.
Mario didn't become big for me until my parents found our SNES and Super Mario All-Stars. For 2 or 3 years of my life, playing video games meant playing one of the games in Super Mario All-Stars usually. Sometimes it was a hockey or basketball game, but not as often.
And then we got an N64. The big boy games were mine! Star Fox 64, Goldeneye, Battle Tanx: World at War, and Super Smash Bros.
As far as my old computer went, Dune 2000, 80s Arcade Games, Worms Armageddon, and an old, purple disc of games who's name I can't remember but included such gems as Kill Barney and Gravity Well.
My gaming addiction started in the 16-bit era. Like I literally had no interest in video games during the 8-bit era. But I saw those Mario vs. Sonic, Nintendo vs. Sega commercials I absolutely HAD to have an SNES or Genesis. My parents were savvy enough to pick up on Nintendo's more family friendliness even then so they got me an SNES. Super Mario World holds a special place as the game that got me addicted to gaming.
So many people mention Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and for good reason. It's probably my favourite game ever. No mention whatsoever of Zelda: Majora's Mask though. Did so little people actually play it or did people generally really dislike it that much? It wasn't as good as Ocarina of Time or a Link to the Past, but I still really enjoyed it, it's likely to still be in my top 10 ever. Gameplay was interesting and the vibe/feel of the game was just great imo, really creepy. Only gripe I really had with it is that it was really short. Thoughts?

I actually just recently went through it again. It's actually such a great game, but yeah, it's definitely less popular than Ocarina. I think it's just the immense popularity of OoT that it kind of overshadows Majora's Mask. Plus, I used to think getting all the masks was a pain in the ass, but it's actually not as bad when you're not a kid :D
Otherwise: SC/BW Dune 2000 Tzar Half-life Red Alert 2 Stronghold(& crusader) Revolt Jack jackrabbit Diablo(D2 a bit later, however the atmosphere of the original is pure gold) Echelon:WW Network Q-rac Rally (almost forgot this) A ton more that I can't remember right now
and Mystic Arts, the idea is that you are a girl and have to beat skeletons, golems and wolves. It's a 2d game, very simple. Still have it but can't run it Can't find screenshots either.

HOLY CRAP lol i didnt think anyone else played that.
In no particular order, and without pictures (because most, if not all, have been posted already.) These are all released pre-2000. I've played a lot of games released post-2000 as well, but that's no longer childhood
NES: Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3 Megaman 2 The Legend of Zelda II, The adventure of Link
Gameboy: The Legend of Zelda, Link's Awakening Donkey Kong Land
SNES: Mario World Mortal Kombat Mario Kart The Legend of Zelda, A Link to the Past
PC: Commander Keen Dangerous Dave Xenon II Worms Lemmings Sokoban Wolfenstein 3D Supaplex One Must Fall Digger Frogger Winter Games Grand Prix Circuit Lotus 3 Blockout Sim City Sim City 2000 Civilization Transport Tycoon Deluxe Pizza Tycoon Stunts 4D Prince of Persia Ski or Die Dune Dune II Age of Empires C&C Red Alert Warcraft: Orcs and Humans Warcraft 2 Starcraft (and BW) Settlers 2 M.A.X. Diablo Quarentine Half-Life Counter-Strike Duke Nukem 3D
Terramex for the C64...... best game i ever played by far.... took over a year to complete it. and you had to wait over an hour for it to load via casette!!!! I played it a few years ago when i found my old c64 in the loft..... was still just as hard as when i was 5 lol.
i used to be really good at this, my brother too, he used to play with baldours before he went to aAa. The only close person to me who still plays is my best friend, and he and his team qualified to the ESWC ^_^ super proud of him :D
TA is there purely because its the 1st RTS i ever played, most of my time when i was young (10-12) was sunk in CS and BW, then i started playing lots of others. AoE, AoE2, CoD, Dynasty Warriors etc etc
Dune, used to play it on my old sega. Fun stuff, first rts I've ever played aswel.
Warcraft 2, jesus christ, so many hours have I spent playing this game. I used to make my own maps aswel, lol. Loved playing with AI allies.
My favorite fighting game when I was a kid, maybe not the best amongst the fighting games but I did enjoy it more then street fighter or tekken, have it emulated on my pc today still. MK3Ultimate on sega.
Hahaha, o man, this one right here. Contra man, I LOVE THAT GAME
So many more games that made my childhood but I'll close off with this one. That's right, Sonic and Knuckles. Actualy I love all the sonic games on sega genesis, don't care about the ones that came after. But S&K was great because it took everything previous sonic games did and added to that, graphics, better levels, other playable characters. Spent years on sonic games.
Harvest Moon for the Super Nintendo. I still get the itch to play every now and then, maybe not this version, but it's definitely my favorite.
Shining Force for the Sega Genesis. Probably the only RPG I've beaten more than 3-4 times.
Warcraft 2. Oh wow. I was only like 8 when Battle.net edition came out, but by the time I stopped playing my record was something like 1500 wins 900 losses. This game made me an RTS junkie. Loved me some NWTR.
Tekken 3 (Arcade Version). I dumped soo many quarters into mastering this bad boy.
Mega Man *3*. Hard as shit, but I loved it.
Majesty. Oh wow, for such a passive RTS, I could play for ages.
Let's see... getting older, but this game was a GEM. Dark Cloud for PS2.
Ooh, let's throw Dragon Warriors Monsters for Gameboy Color into the mix for good measure.
Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap - This game is fucking awesome. I spent so many hours playing it as a young child, and I still play it on occasion. Heroes of Might and Magic 2 - This game was my obsession before sc/bw came out. I spent countless hours playing it. Awesome game. STARCRAFT:BROODWAR - Best game ever
Such an awesome game. I remember game after game after game playing 1v1 vs a friend, both on the same keyboard. Actually I recently picked it up again on an emulator and it was still fun as hell. Masterpiece.
Also:
StarFlight
Millennium 2.2
Space Quest I (original EGA version, not the disgusting VGA remake please)
Secret of Mana (loving it!) Lufia (even though i didn't ever have it and played it via a friend, i played it probably 3-4 times completely and with completing that cave with the random levels and huge number of levels where you couldn't die and ofc couldn't safe... man this was hard ^^) Zelda on Nintendo, SNES and the first one on Gameboy, later on Ocarina of Time (didn't play other) Diablo 1 and later on 2 Final Fantasy 7 (played others too but this definitely the most) Starcraft (without broodwar, i played the original one much more and didn't have broodwar long time after it was released; plus back in the days i was mucho fan and stuff like 10 min no rush ^^) Warcraft 3 (yes i played Warcraft2 too (dunno if Warcraft1, maybe a little bit) but not that long)
There is a lot of other stuff i played, but not that long. Like Dune 2, Lemmings, Baldurs Gate 1, Civilization 2 and Colonization (good one, definitely played it more than Civ 2, one of the first games i played probably ^^)!
edit: And ofc, how could i forget... Pokemon Blue edition ^^ didn't play any else, but this one definitely a lot...
edit2: forgot all those shooters... my first online game was the first Unreal Tournament, that was fun back then.. although i don't like FPS any more. But i definitely played Counter Strike the most of all those shooter games. Probably even more than many of the games mentioned at top but tbh it didn't really come to my mind, think i didn't really like it.
I only count the most memorable pre-PS2 games I played in my childhood.
Pokemon Red/Blue: Probably the most addicting game I played as a child. Bought a gameboy PURELY for this game
Crash Bandicoot: before I had a playstation, I used to always go over to my friend's house just to play this game. He had no memory card so I always wanted to see how far I could get each time. Managed to complete the game once (without side missions of course).
My favorite of the 3 Digimon world games on the playstation. I gave up when I got stuck at one point and forgot what my mission objective was T_T. The world was huge as fuck.
Pepsiman: Traded with a friend a 14BD ($42) copy of Hercules (the game) for a pirated copy of this game. Totally worth it
Majesty: Just an awesome game when I played it. Got pretty damn addicted to the game. Looks kinda stupid now that I know more about PC gaming XD
Tekken 3: My favorite pre-PS2 fighting game. I've played a lot of Marvel vs Capcom with my friends before but Tekken was what I thought I could go on to play forever XD
Marvel vs Capcom: I owned my friends so much on this game XD. I preferred Tekken but I loved all the flashy shit MvC had to offer.
Mortal Kombat 4: I'm not gonna lie. I loved the gore.
My first MMORPG. Props to you if you can guess it's name just by looking at the picture + Show Spoiler [answer] +
Defiantly my most memorable games would be StarCraft: This was the first game that really got me into gaming, having 5 man lan parties were the best. Since we were like 9 we wouldn't let any one attack with more than 10 units, aka tickle attacks. I remember when we had to get our parents to type in cheat codes because we couldn't spell. Diablo 2: My favorite RPG of all time. Lemmings: played this when I was really young, but was always a fun game. Warlords: First game I ever played. Whenever I went to my grandparents, all the kids would get together and play it. Since it got removed from that computer I've never been able to find it though . Pokemon and Zelda Gameboy games: My parents would never get me a console, so I had a gameboy and computer until like 13. Zoombini's : Another game I always played at grandparents. I still remember when you make the pizzas for the angry trees and they say "There's something on here I don't like". Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure: Almost forgot this one, this was the first game I ever had at my house.
I never really had a 'defining' game, but I played a ton of the stuff here. SCBW, Heroes of Might and Magic, Diablo 2, Worms, Ocarina of Time, Pokemon, Baldur's Gate 2, various FFs...

Oh my god, I remember having the same experience! My parents would always lecture me whenever I asked them too, "you won't get any better if you keep cheating!" Ohh how they were wrong =P.

Here are the top games that defined my childhood! I'll mix it up and add onto the nostalgia factor by adding the intros to the games! :D
POKEMON RED
ALIENS 3(Gameboy)
STARCRAFT BROOD WAR
(This was a given)
WARIO LAND
TUROK: DINOSAUR HUNTER
PERFECT DARK
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME
This game along with the next, changed how I think/play/ and appreciate games.
METAL GEAR SOLID 2: SONS OF LIBERTY
This game changed my life. :'( I have never seen a game with more attention to detail and top notch story than this (yeah it's convoluted and confusing, but if you get into it it'll open worlds man.. OPEN WORLDS).
That's the short list.
A few more I won't add (for brevity's sake) are:
1080 Snowboarding Banjo-Kazooie GoldenEye Tetris Super Mario Land(gameboy) Diddy Kong Racing Donkey Kong Land(gameboy) Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Mario Kart 64 and moooore
God it's good to look back at all these amazing titles.. Games are definitely not what they used to be! /oldman

hmm the first game i have ever played and that turned me into the nerd i am today was Heretic.
I used to play it with my dad on his friend's blazing 100mhz pc.
Funny thing is that i actually downloaded the game for dosbox(ms dos emulator) recently and the game is still so awesome. It has some great ides and awesome atmosphere and amazing music...
other very influential games were half life, warcraft 2, starcraft bw and homam 3
I could say Starcraft was a childhood game but I only started playing that when it came out in 1999. There were games I had been playing years before that. Starcraft definitely reshaped who I was as a person though. It was a truly life changing experience and all things that have happened since then have been influenced in some way by my introduction to Starcraft and the thousand and one events spawning from it.
But for my true childhood experience leading up to that...
Sonic 2 Only when I was introduced to Starcraft did Sonic fall off of my radar. This screenshot seems to be some kind of custom wallpaper.
Mario Kart 64 Can't say I've ever been a racing buff but this was still fun as hell.
Diddy Kong Racing
Battle Tanx & Battle Tanx: Global Assault. These I played non-stop all the way up to when I got a PC. To this day I wish I had the talent to rebuild something similar to them as a mod in something (probably the UDK at this point). I posted a youtube video a while ago showing an amazing glitch I exploited in the first Battle Tanx to spam infinite bouncing lasers and such from your allied goliath tank.
Body Harvest Tremendously influencial of how I designed my mods and writing later in life.
Golden Eye, Perfect Dark, Timesplitters
Timesplitters is basically the end of the line for this brilliant series, specifically Future Perfect. But until I knew about Timesplitters, which was long after Starcraft, I played Goldeneye and PD to death. Although I aggressively tried to get cheats in Goldeneye I never really attempted any in PD. Due to poverty I never had the opportunity to play Perfect Dark until long after its release.
Bomberman 64 This and an SNES version I very briefly played at one point and cannot recall the name of.
FF7
Only RPG I ever played for the longest time and enjoyed thoroughly. I think my game had around 80 hours on it and I didn't have any of the special stuff like shiny chocobos or OP summons, nor did I kill Emerald or Ruby weapon. I was far too young/stupid to understand the mechanics behind getting the chocobos. So, instead, I had 4x and Retaliation along with some crazy sword on Cloud. He just bent over dudes with that and that was that. I went back to it semi-recently to show a friend the ending and died to supernova on the final boss. I realized I had no fucking idea how to play my dudes anymore. Thinking of doing a casted playthrough.
There were others as well. The SNES version of Spawn I believe, P.O.W., the old Super Mario Bros, so on. But these are what immediately stands out in my brain damaged mind.
I'm remembering a game, it was a PC game, a side-scrolling prince of persia-ish fighting game in which you shot projectiles to kill enemies, but I can't remember the name
I remember the weapons and upgrades though, I think you bought it at the start of each level, and each one stacked up to three times. I remember 1 damge throwing knives, 5 damage firebolts, and 12-damage spears or axes.
So many games on the Super Nintendo and N64 that I can't even begin to try to name them all
Starcraft Diablo II Warcraft III World of Warcraft Counter Strike Source Rome Total War Victoria Hearts of Iron 2 ahhh too many to even try to name them
Tetris! When everyone had Win 95 we just got a Win 3.0. Literally 4 games that ran on it. This isn't the exact picture of the game, but I've never found a Tetris game that I liked since that old one. Never looks or feels quit right.
SimCity- played at home and free time in computer class (that and Lemmings, and a tank game called Vector? Very few games seemed to be on those old apple computers.)
Civilization 2- Played hotseat at friends houses many a time.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Actually played it very few times as a child, but for some reason was a game I was still enthralled with and eventually found an emulator to play it multiple times years later. (Never owned a console system.)
Imperial Conquest- Turn-based strategy game- played with my brother and cousin for hours.
Space Empires 2- Another turn-based strategy that I played with my brother and cousin.
Warcraft II- Very first RTS played. Played it all the time at friends houses. (My Windows 95 too sluggish to play it.) Absolutely loved the Lord of the Rings feel to it.
Age Of Empires 2- First RTS owned, played, and made UMS maps- (tried creating my own campaign.)
Also early on, a lot of those shareware/demo 40 games and 100 games cds that you used to get- are home computer sucked so often those were the few games that would work.
Lots of other games that I played and loved, but these are the ones that were huge for me in the early years.
Notice the pattern of having a really crappy computer? Guess what- I own SC2 and I can't run it since one of the last patches on Beta Some things never change.
Oh god Sarge's Heroes. I totally forgot about the army men games. I can't even remember most of their names but I played just about all of them and loved them as a kid.
Agreed with many here but gonna put those that I didnt see Super Ghouls N' Ghosts. Never beat this on SNES but on smulators beat it with save states :D
Gradius III. Same with SGNG yet this was even harder...
Killer Instinct
Saga Frontier, not a very well received game in the western world but one of my favorites by far...
some of my favs, also props to whoever posted prince of persia for sega, I used to have nightmares of dying in that game, it was so hard when i was kid ]=
Mickey's Magical Quest. Now that's a hell of a game.
Lion King, obv.
Super Adventure Island 2
Claymates. Such an incredibly underlooked gem of a platformer. Still play it today.
My god did this topic make me so incredibly nostalgic. Thankfully my super nintendo and all my games are just in my closet. Time for a night of childhood fondness.
Starcraft Broodwar I remember bringing the prima strategy guide to school.... man.... Conker's Bad Fur Day I would rent this game every weekend for about 3 years.... Probably should have just bought it.... Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance I Also rented this game every weekend for a year. Diablo I & II The most fun I ever had with an RPG game. Pokemon Red Nuff Said? lol...
Here are games that defined my childhood negatively. I saw a lot of them in my house but I totally hated them:
The Secret Island of Dr. Quandary. My brother played it all the time when I was still in early elementary school. Goddamn it scared the shit out of me every time that doll possessed you in the beginning. I hated this game but I loved watching my brother solve the puzzles. Dolls have raided my nightmares ever since.
Kings Quest 5. Again, my brother played this a lot and we all strained our prepubescent minds to figure out how to progress, but we could never understand the significance of clicking every damn pixel in every screen just to find key items. It was also a huge deterrent when random shit like bees, sea monsters, inn keepers, harpies, and who knows what else that dev team could pull out of their ass would come out and kill you at every wrong click you made. It didnt help that the main character was a huge pussy and couldnt defend himself for shit. And whos the fucking genius who came up with the idea of buying a custard pie just so you could throw it at the yeti 2 gameplay hours later? "Gee, why didnt I realize that pies werent meant to be eaten?"

My first games were pokemon red on gameboy , after that for christmas we got a playstation 1 with crash bandicot and after that i remember my first PC game being wc2
Blade Runner This game blew my mind when I first played it. The immersion. The depth of characters. The puzzles. The 13 different endings (I still haven't uncovered them all). Seriously read this review http://feltham.ca/shut-up-and-play-this-blade-runner/ and then play it. Random fact: I didn't know the movie existed until the early 2000's. For a while after that I thought the movie was based on the game. That's how awesome it is.
Planescape Torment This is by far my favourite rpg. I think it's better than baldurs gate 2. I love the character progression. They just don't make games like they used to. The scenery and landscape looks better than 90% of the 3d crap floating around these days.
Also: Age Of Empires 1 and 2. I remember when I played the first one games would always be about either killing your enemy before he got hoplites or getting them first. If you got them hoplites then you were golden. This was the LAN games I had with my friends, so I still have no idea if that strategy was actually good :o
AoE2 blew my mind. I played that game more than any other with my friends, where we would meet up and play 2v2 again and again. Good times. Nevver played it online, but Huns always seemed imba to me? No houses is just a crazy good racial trait.
This game was the dogs bollocks, playing constantly, going round my neighbours to play tournements in his garage, just had so much fun on it, I still play it to this day.
8th birthday I think, either way this game had me hooked for years, to say I loved it would be an understatement, Pokemon was my childhood.

A lot of mine was, console vidya turns to PC vidya, which led me on to a heavy interest in computers at a young age, that then turns in to a hobby I enjoy which ultimately leads to me doing a computing course at college, from there I will probably do computer science next year at Uni.
Mortal Kombat Killer Instinct Super Metroid Sim city 2000 Doom 2 Great naval battles series Pretty much every Janes flight combat flight simulator Gabriel Knight 2 Total Annihilation Descent: Freespace Diablo 2
First video game that i can remember playing was Red Alert 1 on pc. My dad was playing it and it blew my mind (obviously). Then i got into dark reign and age of empires. Never played online so i had no idea how good i was. Then came the golden age of addicition with battlefield 1942. First ever online experience using "the all seeing eye". ( not sure if that still exists). I played that game for like 3years straight. Then i believe that number 2 came out and i hated it due to the lack of vechilces and patches that i wasnt allowed to dl.THEN i discovered the beuaty of "LAN" by playing warcraft 3 tower defences at a freinds house. Then i played on bored aussies (warcraft 3 aus server) for ages. I only started playing SC last year due to being to young to experience it as kid and noone else ever playing it.
I cant believe I got through 7 entire pages without a single mention of ...KILLER INSTINCT!?!?!?!
I was so fuckin sick with cinder, spinal, fulgore, and glacius..(all the cool charactors) My little brother used to get so mad at me for 10-0ing him lol
ALSO WTF!?!?! OFC everyone says bw thats why we use TL in the first place but shit who remembers...
Ill start from being a young boy to when i finished highschool
MegaMan 3, game i played most on my NES
Pokemon Blue = Nuff said
anyone else used to play with digivices?
Harvest moon - Never had such a simple game been so much fun for me...
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2
Yugioh forbidden memories - fuck this was the shit back in grade 6
Crash Team Racing = Never played a game so fucking much... other than wow
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit - gave me the love of fast cars
Runescape - This game ruined JR high and High school for me...
Counter Strike - Fuck i loved this game 1.5 the oldschool shit http://i105.piczo.com/view/2/i/1/0/8/o/0/c/u/g/u/p/img/i212656182_70456_2.jpg
Monster rancer advanced - pretty weird game but played it a lot
Need for speed underground 2

World of Warcraft - second mmo not nearly as bad as runescape was

Damn this is going to ruin my mood for the day. I'm all nostalgic right now.
I mean.. Supaplex? Dune? Stunts? Oh wow. Years of my life!
Yeah, that site was pretty profound and comprehensive. :D
Wow! So much nostalgia! Here are some that I haven't seen mentioned yet:
Redline I loved this game! I think it's really underrated. You drove around in different cars with mounted guns mauling everything and you could get out and shoot stuff FPS style (and this was way before GTA 3). Awesome single player story and had multiplayer too. Good graphics for 99' as well. I was really blown away by this game.
Deus Ex Simply one of the best games of all time. Any true gamer should play this at least once in their life.
Delta Force 2 My first real online game along with Starcraft. Played this game competitively. I've literally spent thousands of hours playing this. Childhood defining indeed
Hugely underrated games that kept me occupied for years
Starsiege Tribes
Tribes 2
I think these 2 were the first games that really succeeded as a FPS with jetbacks. The skill cap was so much higher than standard FPS games because you cant just point at a guy and shoot him. You had to lead your shots and predict where they were going to land clean hits. The amount of teamwork in these games was also a huge plus. Setting up defenses, sensor, outposts and whatnot provided for a broader range of tactics. I loved the Tribes series and wished it didnt get fucked over by those idiots who made Tribes Vengeance.

A completely diabolical game I played on my dad's Kaypro II.
As a teenager, I played these:
Doom Warcraft 1 Gemstone III
We used to play Doom and warcraft 1 on two computers hooked together via null serial cable before the advent of ethernet. It was amazing.
Gemstone is a MUD which is still played today (now Gemstone IV). I have probably spent more time on that game overall than any other dozen games I have ever played, put together. Several thousand hours, easily.
SWAT 3 I remember playing this game so much as a kid after I got it as a birthday gift from my brother. I was so long stuck on that goddamn sewer level. Oh my god it still gives me nightmares. It's a shame that SWAT 4 wasn't nowhere near as good as 3.
Theme Hospital Oh man. This took many hours of my life. As a kid I remember laughing at the patients all the time (because of the odd diseases and syndromes they had (like invisibility)),
Unreal 1 has to be it. The game was so difficult and i spent all of the time trying to pass it or play against bots
Unreal tournament is a game i got in early 2000 and never left playing it. Got me also into competitive gaming, which lead me to WCG -> SC:BW
I remember playing amiga games like Sensible World of Soccer and a game called "little apple nicklebaum" when i was like 5. But the Unreal series where the thing for me, from the map editor to the multiplayer gaming experience
double dragon and ninja turtle for the nintendo was bullshit. My older cousin would play co-op with me together... until he dies before I do and then he just turns on Friendly Fire and TKs the fuck out of me

This is definitely a big one for me. I was transfixed ever since I saw a friend play it when he got like a 486 in 1992 or something.
Mine(Not going to include starcraft but it goes without saying ive probably spent more time playing it than anything else)
- Super Mario Brothers. Classic, first game I ever owned/played.
- Megaman 2. I played this obsessively, even though its a simple game the game as a whole is just enjoyable to play.
- Street Fighter 2. I'll never forget going to the 7-11 near my house and seeing it, I was like 9 years old. I would go regularly when Championship Edition came out, even skipping school to play.
- Street Fighter 4. The revival of fighting games, I never stopped playing them at any point really but for once I was there at the beginning of a SF games release for tournaments and able to go to the arcade constantly.
Thats about it I guess, looking back at all the time I spent on single player games in my teens(PSX/Saturn era), I don't really think of anything so fondly that I would want to still play it today. : ]
Some of the titles that I played as a kid which got me loving video/computer games:
Dune II Jazz Jackrabbit Halloween Harry Duke Nukem 1, 2, and 3D Hugo's House of Horrors (and other titles) Dare to Dream CnC and Red Alert The Incredible Machine / Sid and Al's Incredible Toons Plethora of NES games

Tribes 1 is probably my most defining game. I played that game for the entirety of my high school life and on and off for years afterwards. This game was probably my first taste of online play. 7+ years of absolute joy and tears.
I dont think Tribes: Vengeance deserves the hate that many gamers seem to send in its direction. The game is very good for its own merits. The skill required to play it at the top level was incredible and the feel was still Tribes-ey. Yes, it isn't "Tribes" but it's still a solid game that uses the same skill set. The best clan wars I've ever had was from T:V.
WarCraft 3 was my first taste at WCG quals level competition. I had no idea that you could play computer games and actually earn money/prizes/respect. I have this to thank for my love of competitive gaming today.
first game I ever played, the labs at UF were the only place for hundreds of miles with computers fast enough to run a game with "graphics" lol:
later, my friends had this game and I would play it at their house (since they had an apple II) at school I was one of the lucky few in the gifted program and we had computers! some of the younger members may not understand how amazing it was to have a computer in rural northern florida in the very early 90s but man we were hot shit: at this point I could chose many, many games that Im sure have already been posted like pokemon red, goldeneye 64, etc but here is something a little different: skipping ahead many years, two games came out at about the time I graduate from high school that to me that were the pinnacle: but to me this is the greatest game of all time. the only time in my entire life that I have seen something and known, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I would witness greatness, was reading an internet article about a then little hyped japanese game titled wanda and the colossus. Seeing the concept art and the first few screenshots, I was sold.
in fact, it is VERY interesting to me that a game that was kind of knocked back in the day for framerate issues and not being the cup of tea is now all the rage for top 10 lists. Now granted, I do think it is the best game of all time, but I remember being VERY angry at a certain techtv show that, along with others, was less than appreciative at the time. I guess hindsight is 20/20.
I think that objectively speaking, the number of great games coming out has diminished greatly. I think this has something to do with the fact that we see fewer, more expensive games that tend to be designed by committee to maximize sales.
Why the heck is noone hiding the pictures?? Its making a really nice thread VERY difficult to navigate! Yeah and me.. 1) Heroes of Might and Magic 2 - If anyone has played this then there shud be NO DOUBT 2) One Must Fall - THE MOST EPIC 1v1 FIGHTER EVAAAA... 3) C&C - Red Alert - my love-at-first-sight exposure to RTS gaming 4) Kings Quest VI - The BEST RPG I have played to date. No doubt... 5) Unreal Tournament - ahh the good old days of gibs flying around in low-grav Morpheus...
First video game I ever played. It was the collector's edition which came with my gamecube. I remember being scared of all of the bosses :<
I played this a lot. I remember writing down all of the right potions for each level in a notebook.
Super sonic = win
First FF game I played, and also my favourite. I got so hooked on this game at first, but ragequit because of Seymour >.> I came back and got all of the ultimate weapons and hidden aeons 1a2a3a gg.
This one up there is probably my all-time favorite SNES game, you should try it if u liked Secret of Mana at all Prob the best castlevania game and it isn't even close imo xDI think I liked this game more than any FF
Shud be enough, starcraft shud be in there too but it's kind of a given
Although I was playing games with my family back on the ZX Spectrum (Yes, ZX Spectrum, the console that would have you waiting 30 mins to load up a single game, but fail to load more than half the time.. wow), I guess I was too young for them to really have formed any real memories of the games themselves.
I would have to say that the games that shaped my early years (in regards to gaming) would have to be:
Beneath a Steel Sky (absolutely amazing adventure game. Very interesting and well-thought out plot line and puzzles. You can download this game for free on the PC now.
Speedball 2 (best sports game ever made)
Sensible Soccer (best football game ever made)
The Dizzy Series (some of the most challenging puzzle platformers ever)
Flashback (has already been mentioned a few times in this thread, but is a really really amazing game)
Lotus Turbo Challenge (1, 2 & 3)
F/A 18 Interceptor (amazing military flight sim, one of the best I've ever played)
Heimdall 2 (very deep and challenging game, really want to go back and play this one through again actually)
The Cadaver games (amazing puzzle adventure games. Used to watch my brother play these for hours on end)
Pirates (If you've played Mount & Blade, you might have an idea of how addictive this kind of open-ended game can be. Amazing game. What an experience to build up a fleet of massive galleons and start forging alliances with all the various colonists in the Caribbean, or becoming a pirate yourself and hunting down treasure.)
Megalomania (probably the first RTS I ever played. Amazing and often over-looked example of early strategy games. It was released in 1991)
Colin McCrae Rally (countless hours were spent trying to set and break new time trial records with my bros on this one. Amazing racing game)
Final Fantasy 7 (enough has been said about this already. Very enjoyable stuff)
Zelda :OoT (mentioned already)
Goldeneye (my first ever taste of multiplayer FPS)
Mario 64 (of course. Played it through with my friend in one day. One of my greatest gaming achievements )
There are so so many more that I could mention and that some have been mentioned already, but those lot were very influential to me personally, because of the amount of time I spent on each of them, not just by myself, but with my family also. Some really great memories.
Cannon Fodder 1 (not 2) Basically the most bloody game ever...
Some shameless plead. Anyone has the orginal PC CGI intro of Cannon Fodder (the one that needed over 620KB of free basic memory to run). That was one of the most kick ass old CGI's videos ever made... Worms 1 had some funny ones but that intro of cannon fodder was still better.
Larry 7 Dont need to comment that ;P
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Man this game rocked... Well had some bugs (especially with Plato diary) but it was definitely one of the best games ever. Finished one route and got stuck on Indy physical route in the desert with a broken german car (didnt ffound a way to get a spark... well i was young)
Final Fantasy 7 Well the only FF that i finished... Man i need to finish the rest... The classic RPG with the best skill system (hated the one in FF8). Materia slots for ever. Finall fight was a true war of attrition for me due to me making ultimate bad choices in the last parties forming (was thinking i would be able to change between the two parties before the final battle) and a very small supply of cure small (or whatever it was called). Imagine a party that was almost completely out of mana, usuable summons and in status mini... not to mention that the Vincent had a limit break on with a mini status (and he had like phoenix, and all bahamuts...). It was annoying 4h battle ^^;;
Tie Fighter
Way better than X-wing. Was a reason for a rash departure to hardware heaven of over 5 mouses (due to the fact that it didnt work good with my joystick). Had some bugs if you destroy "some" random units your campaign would crash...
Jagged Alliance 2 One of the best tactical turn base strategy games ever. Lots of side quests, weapons, npc and more.... Once i played on sci-fi setting.... Than never again... Those lobsters or sth were ultra annoying (they forced me to cheat... due to jamming off all weapons in my team right before the queen lair)
Dune 2
The first RTS. Also till CnC: RA1 it had the most unique function in any RTS the double weapon system which chose which weapon to use at the time ----> Harkonen Heavy Infantry. If enemy is atacking use the rockets, when the enemy shortens the distance depending on armor of enemy use either miniguns or rockets... RA1 Mamoth tank was the unit that used the similar system. And Dune 2000.... worst RTS ever.... it destroyed Dune 2 legacy.
Kyranidia 3 The humor almost killed me.... And "Daddy" at the end was priceless
I will just define my childhood from being from the earliest games I remember and love until the end of high school.
Kirby for Nintendo Shining Force for Sega Genesis Death Gate Cycle for PC (played with uncle and went through it with him) Kings Quest series and similar games (same uncle during those same summers ha) Sword of Shannara for PC (also played with uncle) Mech Warrior Series for PC ( also played with my uncle during summers spent there, he would do the mission then I would. Great times) Warcraft 1-3 for PC Diablo 2 and LoD for PC Starcraft and BW for PC Final Fantasy 7,8,9 for PC/Play Station The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind for PC
All these games occupied tons of my time and/or just impacted my thinking on other games and in other areas as well.
This one was also HUUUUUGE in my childhood... God so many fond memories of these games, makes me want to cry tears of joy ) So many other excellent games too, gonna list just a handful here, among many, many, many other excellent ones
No need to comment on this one.
SC1 was also like top 5 from my youth.... sooooo damn good, and I came into contact with it at such an early age.
:D
The amazement I felt when playing this game, and others... the magic... all that are the best memories of my childhood
So many fond memories... I could never truly do justice to all the excellent games that gave me such feelings of wonder.
Such a great trip to nostalgialand too, seeing all the other games I loved in this thread, represented by everyone... gives me, in the words of Daynine, Bubbly feelings indeed
Super Mario and Zelda games into Final Fantasy/Chrono Trigger games into SimCity into StarCraft/BW...after SC there were a few more games like the Sims, but really I quit most games after discovering girls. Since then, SC2 is really the only game that I have played since.
Oh god how I love that game. Played through the original campaign five or six times, full complete, no stone of recall, no sidequests, stealth runs, you name it, i've done it.
Also:
About a year ago, I ran across the demo. I instantly flashed back to memories of watching my dad play this, then trying myself and getting my ass handed to me by the first enemy I ran into. Aah, sweet memories.
And of course, C&C RA2. Best 'splosions of any game I played in my childhood. Period.

these two guys are the coolest guys in the world each one i have such fond memories of. iv been able to replay tribes again since its free now but man id love to have interstate 76 and crusader on my pc right now.
In no order of importance... so many good memories :D I have spent a lot of time playing video games, I don't regret it :D
the spyro games on PS: thanks for playing with me Dad :D, so cool Donkey Kong Country 1-3(mostly 1 and 2, such great games) Donkey Kong 64 Galactic Battlergrounds(thought this was such a cool take on RTS, loved it) Star Wars : Shadows of the Empire: my first N64 game, man Fett took us a year to beat on medium difficulty Lion King for Genesis.. my dad was so much better at this than me, i used cheat codes so much Sonic 2 for Genesis Pokemon Blue Pokemon Gold Morrowind.. Halo 2 (probably my all time favorite... this game was my life for a long time, and it was such a great game) Shadowrun(imo one of the greatest fps of all time) Age of Empires 2 (countless hours of fun, I loved building stuff up, especially a cool army, brits had longbows, my brother liked the persians for the elephants) Fire Emblem ( all of them, love these) Advanced Wars(all of them, love these to this day, does anyone play DoR? :D) Roller Coaster Tycoon, RCT 2(me and my uncle played this a lot) Bomberman(some epic games with me, my brother and my uncle) VMK: More recent, and yes Ill give an explanation :D, i feel brave for posting it though(kiddy disney MMO(restricted time you can play and pretty much everything was censred), lol.. can't believe I played it in high school, but my brother, uncle and cousins played so naturally I started collecting in game items, I also abused the fact macs safari was glitched and gave ultra rare items away every time you tried to get the random item. I actually "won" a trip to Disneyland by selling a in game pin that I won from a quest my uncle also made quite a bit selling, so he took us all to disneyland once
I actually tried starcraft at one point in my life, but i thought AOE2 and Galactic Battlegrounds were cooler, I didn't get into BW until 2007 =(, also the game I have spent the most time playing is Halo 2, and then Halo 3. I played Halo 3 purely competitively and the only good thing about it was my team mates and the few MLG events that were a blast.
Also, spent tons of time playing card games in my life time, or at least collecting and wishing I can play.. Pokemon, Star Wars, LotR, Yugioh, and the one I love the most, MTG, still play sometimes :D.
also in more recent years for reference Ive been playing: Oblivion, Halo 3, BW, Starcraft 2, League of Legends
Screw Mario, this was and continues to be my favorite platformer. It has a surprisingly phenomenal soundtrack as well considering the genre and its time.
Super Metroid
Nothing like finally getting that unreachable energy tank that has laughed at you after hours of running past it.
Zelda: Ocarina of time
My introduction to the Zelda series. Nuff said
Threads of Fate
My first contact with Squaresoft. Not the greatest game ever, but still a good game and certainly memorable.
Resident Evil 2
This game was scary as hell when I was a kid.
Mega Man X
Fuck you Boomer, I'm back for revenge and my gun....it's super effective!
Marvel vs Capcom 2
"I wanna take you for a ride".."I wanna take you for a ride"..."I wanna take you for a ride"
I burned so much money at the arcades with this one
Metal Slug (all of them pretty much)
and this one
Mortal Kombat 3
as well as this one too
Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow
Holy shit! omgwtf is it?! Should I catch it?!
Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal
Better than the originals imo. This was the golden age of pokemon in which a plethora of new pokemon were released without it feeling too ridiculous. The fact that you get to return to the original region of red/blue/yellow after beating the elite 4 was a massive surprise as well.
Zelda: Majora's Mask
I'm in the minority on this one, but I always felt that this was the best Zelda. People will complain of the time limit (about 6hrs before you need to reset the 3 day cycle with time slowed), but I felt it gave the game another level of depth through time management. It may very well be the most unique as well, in that Link constantly relives the three days knowing full well of the inevitable apocalypse. All the joy and help he's brought to the people in his quest will ultimately be erased as he relives the same time frame in a potentially different scenario, perhaps he'll help someone new this time, maybe finally save the world. Also, playing as a Goron, Zora, and Deku Shrub was damn fun :D.
Shenmue
*sigh* what ever became of you Ryu? God I loved this game, by today's standards it would be just a primitive sandbox. However, back in the lovely days of the dreamcast it was absolutely groundbreaking.
Final Fantasy IX
I encountered this game around the cutoff point for what I consider childhood. Had never played a ff game before and this one looked intriguing. This game would ultimately become my all-time favorite, as well as the gateway to the rest of the series. I won't go into detail as this game alone could fill this entire post >.>;;
Those were all on my old 386. Later I got a newer computer and played all the classics that came out 1995-2000 too but those were in my teens I guess. Most of the newer games I played are already i this thread.
This game turned me into an obsessive tinkerer. The junction system allowed for such a large variety of possibilities that I had to try them all, dooming me for all eternity to be a hopeless completionist and optimalist. Plus, the story turned me into a hopeless, hopeless romantic. I was only 9 years old!
Donkey Kong Country
The quality of this game is just unbelievable. The graphics, music, controls, everything was just absolutely superb. It set a high bar for what I expected out of games I would play, and sadly, most games have not met that standard

There was this other puzzle game we had had school made by like boldensoft or brodensoft (killing me that I can't remember), anyway you had like 20 little blue dudes you had to get to the end by figuring out what each path would allow through.
I'm a little younger than most of the people here, but I got this game for my tenth birthday. Played it for a solid four years, and got pretty darn good. Honestly still is my favourite game of all time. Insane amounts of fun. If there was a competitive scene for it, I would still be playing it. Not sure if anyone still plays CBall, but I dropped it as soon as I found out about AoE 2. After that, I was an RTS guy. Played SupCom and SupCom FA, worshiped TLO even then. =D Between the death of FA and the SC2 beta, I played BW. Got to a C- rating on iCCup one season.
And here we are at today, where I envision myself playing Sc2 for quite a while.
Was doom 1 and sim city for me. But there were also some atari games thrown in there beforehand, I do not remember much of them though. My most fond memories were doom, as a baller 4 year old.
Me and my brother kept renting this game from our local video rental store because it wasn't for sale anywhere (and no eBay etc..) Now we both have it as an emulator on our phones. hahahaha

The original version of Choplifter, on the Apple IIe greenscreen :D I played this a lot as a little kid, but I wasn't coordinated enough yet to get very far.
Possibly my all-time favorite game. None of the sequels come close to capturing the magic of this game:
And of course the first multiplayer game that I ever attempted to get really good at
Used to play this game so much in college on LAN (we were all horrible by any competitive standard, but holy crap we had a lot of fun)

I've played many games throughout my life and there are some games that even now I could probably pick up and enjoy again. I'll try to list them in chronological order from the games I played as a wee little kiddo till the games I play right now.
MSX2 era (1986-1994)
King's Valley 2
King's Valley 2 is a puzzle/platform game made by Konami. It was also one of the first games I've played that had its own level editor. A good creative outlet for me at the time!
Eggerland 2
Eggerland 2 is a puzzle game by HAL laboratories. I don't know why but for some reason some of the monsters in that game creeped the fuck out of me (the Medusa and Don Medusa's).
Treasures of Usas
Treasures of Usas is a fun platform game by Konami (like 90% of the games on the MSX were made by Konami). I never managed to actually beat the game though, always got stuck on the last act.
CDi era (1993-1995)
Space Ace
Space Ace is a reactionary game (not sure what genre it falls in). The game will blink objects or locations which corresponds to pressing a button on the game pad (left, right,up,down, fire).
Dragon's Lair 1&2
Like Space Ace this is also a reactionary game made by Don Bluth (or at least had Don Bluth as the artist). A lot of humor in this one, its still hilarious how Dirk the Daring (you, player) runs around in a panic, trying to survive the various lethal situations he gets into.
Early (offline) PC era (1993-2000)
Dune 2
Dune 2 was the first real time strategy game that I played (on my brothers brand new PC!). I was blown away by the graphics and the gameplay. I always tried to Sim City my base and make it as nice as possible with walkways and walls all around.
Doom 1&2
Who doesn't know Doom. Even though I played Wolfenstein before this was such a big improvement and at the time it had no equals. It's also the first game with multiplayer (COAX cable connecting 2 computers).
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VII was the first RPG I played (PC version too). The games I played up till now didn't really have a vast story to them or had 20ish hours of gametime required to tell its story. It really made an impression and I've played lots of RPGs since.
Late (online) PC era (2000-now)
Quake 3 Arena
I've played more Quake games before I got Quake 3 Arena but it was during this period that I got a stable internet connection which opened a whole new world for me. Quake 3 Arena was the first online multiplayer game I played competatively. Finding like-minded people to form a clan with and compete against other people is a whole lot different then mauling 4 computer players in a FFA all the time. Even now I still play its successor Quake Live, although not as competatively as before.
Final Fantasy XI
FFXI was not the first MMO I played (I also played Asheron's Call 2). But it was the first MMO that I played for 5 years straight (with a small break here and there). I've made a friends there that I still occasionally talk to. It's different when you play with the same people day in and day out compared the the "anonymous" ladder play that you will find in most non MMO games. I quit about a year ago though since the game grew stale for me after 5 years and I figured I needed a change of scenery (yes, I went to WoW).
Currently I picked up an old PC version of Eggerland called Eggerland Revival! which was a nice trip to retro-lane. I also play Quake Live occasionally, though I stopped playing online since I tend to play QL when I don't have a lot of time to commit to other games like Starcraft II or WoW. Those 2 are basicly the only other PC games I play regularly.
Not gonna post pics since most of mine are pretty popular.
SNES: FF3 (6) - I remember talking about this one with friends a ton and since there are so many chars we could all pick one we wanted to be :p awesome game NHL 94/97 - played it a ton against one of my buddies i'm still close with. Donkey Kong Country/Different Marios I can't remember.. I vaguely remember mario all-stars or something like that Super Punch Out - my bros game, we'd always switch back and forth when we got stuck
N64: Starcraft 64 - I had played it at my buddies when it first came out but my family didn't have a computer until 2003 so I got this. Fucking hilarious when you're playing vs friends since it's a shared screen rofl. Goldeneye/Mario Kart/Sarge's Heroes/Vigilante 8 - great when you're 10 and playing vs friends lol
PS: FF 7/9/T - sunk many hours into them and I remember myself and a bunch of friends figuring out how to approach different battles in tactics, so fun. NHL 2000/01
GameBoy: Pokemon Red/Yellow - and the trading cards... and the tv series...
PC: BW - best game ever, still playing it today Diablo 2 - probably haven't played it as much as many here but it deserves mention. MoH:AA - played this sooooo much when I first got my comp with a ton of rl friends. Good times. Ragnarok Online - this game was kinda fun at the time but when I look back I don't know how or why I played it for so long. Probably bc I had a lot of friends to play it with.
I played tons of Zork in high school... on my dad ancient mac laptop that had another game on it that was flying a helicoptor and trying to land a guy into a wagon of hay or something. The higher you went the more points you got. Except the massive graphics it took up sometimes crashed the laptop...
Past that Trogdor the Burninator was conquered.. then N-game... I sometimes wondered about that game... I got so far in it..
Bah most of mine were mentioned within the first 3-4 pages so I'll just list some of my fav's..

Bards tale (on our amazing Apple IIe which we also had hitchhikers on.... that's really hard as a kid who didn't even know the book existed) Zaxxon
Atari - Space invaders, River Raid and Frogger really were a key part of growing up Arcade - Double Dragon and probably Twin Cobra took the most of my 20c pieces NES - SMB series, The legend of Zelda, Solstice, Faxanadu, Bionic Commando Sega Megadrive/Genesis - Desert strike, Super baseball 2020, Mutant league football (now that shit was hell fun), Streetfighter 2, MK series, Kid Chameleon, NBA showdown (essentially NBA live 94 I think) Gameboy - Tetris, Zelda: a link to the past N64 - More Zelda/mario love, Killer instinct gold, goldeneye PC - Steel Empire, Captain Comic, Sierra's various series (space quests, king's quests, quest for glory etc...), Dune 2, Mordor - The depths of dejenol, C&C (buying that the day it was released was like the coolest thing in my life lol), Red Alert, Jagged alliance 1/2, Syndicate, Diablo 1/2, Fallout 1/2, Doom, wolf3d, prince of persia, Rise of the Triad (best fps ever imo)
I'm just gonna stop randomly there cos it ust came to my attention that I could go on forever lol... Yeah pics would have made quite an epic sized post o they were somewhat omitted... naturally some pics wouldn't be worht much of a look given the age of the games.
Edit : How could I forget Where in the world is carmen san diego ?
