If you aren't funded to begin with, then it's sort of hard to pull off those builds, depending on your class. That's because all of the equips are significantly better at a higher level now due to a new system, and if you're statless you might not be able to wear that armor and you will miss out on a ton of damage. The new system basically attaches %stat to an equip so that if you have 100% total strength on all of your armor and you have 500 strength base, you will end up with 1000 strength total, which is more than any old weapon/armors could give you by far. Before, you might be ok with just wearing a lvl 30 sauna robe and using the lvl 64 maple weapon, for example on a statless character. You would only really miss out on like 10 stats from the armor and the attack from the weapon. However, now, wearing the lvl 30 sauna robe can get you on average 4-5% while wearing the highest tier armor can give you 12-15% average (possibly 100 stats or more different PER item) on each item. This all adds to the fact that you are limited weapon wise, so in the end going statless is, for the most part obsolete. However, if you have enough money, you can get enough stats from armor/scrolling to still be statless AND wear the armor. It's not actually that hard nowadays because of all the rings, pendants and stuff they give you now, but it can be difficult if you are just starting off, so I don't recommend doing it for most classes. The exception are warriors. If you're making a warrior, there's pretty much no reason to add dex at all. You only really need dex if you are going to get the highest level weapon/armor set and chances are, if you can obtain those, then you will be rich enough to pull it off dexless anyways.

The only class where you should add stats into your secondary stat is thief. That's because thieves require so much dex to equip their end game gear. I think other classes require like 120ish of their secondary stat whereas thieves require 160. When I started, I just used gear that had +stat potential until I had enough money to scroll for my secondary stat. If you want to do a lot of damage, you're gonna have to do work and get money, there's no way around it unless you feel like spending RL $$. IMO just choose whatever class you want to play and try it for a bit. Worse come to worse, you can just make something else. Takes like no time at all to level anymore
