It's duration is for as long as it's enchanting a creature. It would've said "next untap step" if it was for just one turn.
Note that it doesn't tap the creature.

it doesn't untap ever... so not just this turn and next, but for the rest of the game until the aura is removed/destroyed/or the creature is removed/destroyed
It doesn't actually tap the creature though.. so they can hold it back to block if you eot cast it on a big guy...so be careful about that.
Also, a good trick is to use a untapper on your creature in response to an attack.. and force a trade or even just blow you out.. cause now you have to deal with this buy guy in your way.
Pretty bad for constructed... great in limited

Ooooo.... well now its alot better than I though :D

won my local 8man draft with an unexpectedly good deck today. i guess if you pickup 2 contagion clasps, 2 tumble magnets in pack 1, some things just fall into place. oh and arc trail is such a fucking blowout in this format its not even funny. feels like playing a 2mana mind control.

I played magic for a long time but I stopped (around Mirrodin I think) because it was getting more and more expensive to play standard (150-200$ for a cheap deck). I was actually thinking of starting again, but when I checked some of the current decks I saw that the prices were through the roof even more with this planeswalker nonsense, costing like 40$+ and every deck having atleast 4.

In fairness, this metagame is shaping up to have several viable decks that do not involve money planeswalkers. Granted, a good portion of those decks are Primeval Titan decks (and hence, equally expensive). Nonetheless, I wouldn't exactly feel bad about bringing Pyromancer Ascension, Holy Relic/Memnite White or Vampires to a live event.

Yeah, there are tons of viable decks right now. When the meta stabilizes somewhat and the mirrodin besieged comes out a few might drop off, like the goblin deck that actually won a States. I'm running a pyromancer deck right now and I'm in the process of building the Relic weenie deck, which both suit my purposes just fine (FNM and other lesser tournaments). Combo decks are fun!
Except for when they fizzle. Then I hate Magic.

Wow, not really ever played Standard with a real deck (just online) and didn't realise the current needed cards are so expensive. T_T Will probably make and buy a cheaper combo/speed deck then. Any suggestions?

Sounds good,I dont know any person in my town who plays magic :'D

Any suggestions? Probably a Pyromancer build like this one. You could probably shave off some even more cost than what's there, particularly by giving up a little mana consistency by not playing Scalding Tarns, which make up almost half of the deck's cost.

Not always. GPT in Nashville is a Sealed event. Sealed and Draft are good places to start as long as you realize that priorities and card potential changes when you switch over to Constructed.

Yep, WotC made sure you can't survive competitive environment without mythic rare cards (Jace, Primeval, Baneslayer etc. etc.) There are some decks in the new meta which don't cost ridiculous amounts, but I doubt they will hold on for very long.I mean, just the fact that to be a competitive player you have to either sacrifice the ability to play any deck you want or a lot of money is sort of a trap

I'd just give up on constructed and run with limited, honestly, or play a casual format. Prices are just stupid, it doesn't make sense to build a deck.

It's at the point where if you aren't an early adopter or innovator your wallet is going to take a severe hit.

but you are pretty restricted to aggro and combo. control players are fucked because they have to find a reason not to run jace. and hint, there isnt one.
im putting together pyromancer since its dirt cheap. but i dont really like the deck too much. its fun when it goes off, but i dont think it has enough raw power for me.
oh well. i dont currently play in any standard tourneys/FNMs. i just draft. but it really sucks that before and after the draft i cant just play some constructed with people. i would feel wierd using an exorbitant amount of proxies like i did in high school when i played with the same guys every day after school. man were those the good times.

I agree.. I haven't played in awhile...
I do suggest saving up your winnings though.. if you can get a backer and get in to constructed on magic online.. it's pretty nice.. the dailies/premiers are easy to keep up profit.. the actual cards are just so expensive..
|
well cards are abit cheaper online since so many people just play online to draft so they just sell everything.
but i just play paper magic since the thing i love most about it is the social face-to-face aspect. playing online it would just become another computer game. i already have LoL for free for that.

Also there are some IMO pretty fun/interesting decks in the building on a budget column on the mtg site. I don't think they'll be winning you any big tournaments but they do look dun and quite cheap :O
