I never really consider making warriors in the MMOs I've played (FFXI, WoW, LotR, etc), but this game may change my mind.

I try to get on every once in a while but I don't do much pve. We have a few people who do but if you are expecting a lot of people at any time on for GW1 that isn't what we have at the moment. People are always playing games but GW1 isn't one of the most popular.

After reading through teamquitter.com's impressions and comments (team who played the arenanet devs at PAX) there's a few things that became apparent: A vast majority of the skills in the game are simply different damage spells in terms of types, sizes and animations. Basicly 99% of the abilities are damage spells that look different. To be frank that is exactly what shouldn't happen for a game in 2011. You're giving the illusion of depth with all these different spell/weapon combination, but then it just end up being different damage spells? Is that really it? Come on Arenanet.. Crowd control is pretty much limited to knockbacks, heals are not viable and to meaningless to be used in combat. 4v4 or above and it becomes really hard to see whats going on because of the excessive effects. Comebacks in 5v5s are extremely hard to do because of the above reasons. Obviously nothing is final, but i'm so worried that the the whole combat experience is going to be so watered/dumbed down when you look past the cosmetics. Edit: I guess this is the whole philosophy behind the removal of the holy trinity. While it removes the dedicated roles and the feel of playing what is needed rather than what you want, the result is that everyone casts nothing but damage spells at eachother until one side is dead. Depth of gameplay? I think not

Depth of gameplay? I think not You make a lot of good points here. I can't say I agree with all of them though. For example I know your frustrated but there's far more than 1% utility skills. And a lot of the points you made are easily trumped by the fact spell effects have sliders. You don't have to play like that. There's a lot more than knockbacks also. Please refer to the Boon Control matches for great representation of that. You also have to consider that ArenaNet won big time, so there might be some resentment in the impressions QQ gave. Take everything with a grain of salt until you've played beta. Let's all hope your not correct on some of your points.

You also have to consider that ArenaNet won big time, so there might be some resentment in the impressions QQ gave. The opinions that you read on the QQ forums are about as correlated to the opinions of the players that actually played at PAX as the opinions that you read on TL.net are to the opinions of the players on TL. That being said, the people bashing the game are not any of the same people that played the game vs the Devs at PAX EDIT: For those of you that didn't play Guild Wars 1 (or even if you did) and you're curious what modern high level GW1 PvP looks like, there's a commentary channel that is live right now (and for the next couple hours) that is streaming the September mAT http://www.twitch.tv/guildwarsguru

Also, after the azura week nothing new have been realeased. The wait is killing me and the lack of new content too. the most dedicated nonofficial (i think) gw2 youtube fan IMO, TubeElephant talks with fans about guilds, pvp, endgame content.
