OMG, you were with War Machine, that former No. 1 ranked PvP guild? Those golden days when WM clashed with The Last Pride, oh boy!
That being said, Amanda, count me in when GW2 comes out. I played GW1 for years, and I think I went as high as #40 with a Singapore guild long ago. Though now, I am not really much of a PvP guy, but rather more of everything else. =) I went on lots of raids, and did pretty much every single thing GW1 had to offer, except for UW farming and such (they were so tedious and boring, so I never really got rich in-game).
I am STILL deciding whether to play GW2 or not when it comes out though, since I have uni stuff to contend with. Mmmmmm.... still thinking!

I hope they have more items

Please read the whole post bud
I found some more articles, ill post them in a sec, but if you guys find anything else worth mentioning feel free to post it here. This will be our collection so to speak for everyone not familiar with the game to check it out.

I was under the impression that WM's success was largely due to having a buncha people sitting in the same bang so that they could co-ordinate splits flawlessly. WM never really had fantastic individual players making reliable infuses during lag or incredibly efficient monk play, it was always a positioning and team synergy advantage. How would picking up a foreigner work, given the lag issues?
Also, when were you in WM, I might remember you :3.

It isnt so much about the guild as it is getting all of us TL readers together so when the game does come out, you can have friends among you with similar interests. Its always a nice building block for good relationships, and in this case, its SC/SC2.
We've already setup a guild board with its own main url and paid host. Ill probably be sending some PMs out to those who were certain about joining it soon. But keep in mind, the game still has almost a half year before it comes out. We have plenty of time
As far as those overseas. Ive always know guys and gals in my old guilds who live in Europe, but play on NA servers anyway. But as far as those further torwards Austrailia and Asia will have to keep tuned into what ArenaNET offers in terms of avalability.
As most of you well know, its not uncommon for a Indonesian or Austrailian players to choose NA servers not because of the players, but because the ping is usually better than their own local servers.
And worst case scenario, we will have a formed list so those players can get together at launch on their respective servers.

Definately thinking of cashing in on the action.

Never got extensively into the GvG field, but GW1 is one of my favorite games. If I pick up GW2---which is likely---I'd love to join a TL guild.

Really looking foward to the release of this game. I love how combat works atm and if it is anywhere near GW1 it will be great.
Necromancer ftw too

i might try this

I will play it for sure. And while I would love to be involved in this guild, I'm slightly worried about US/EU servers. What has been stated about this?

add-ons meaning expansions? If I knew how it worked in GW1 I wouldn't have asked, lol.

im pretty sure i read somewhere that there will be different realms but like gw1 you can travel between them. so you can prolly still switch from america to europe to asia.

The post you quoted is mostly incorrect, GW1 was composed of 3 interlaced campaigns in the middle of which your character would reach max level and basically you would be able to finish each campaign with characters originally from different zones.
The 4th interlaced campaign, Utopia, got a budget cut and was reduced to a wow-like expansion, only adding endgame content while still keeping the original level cap. This is what they stated expansion packs will be like in GW2, Cantha and Elona (the continents of GW factions and nightfall) aren't likely to make a comeback.

UPDATE
I got the go ahead to form a guild, stating from an admin there wont be any official TL presence or TL forums dedicated to Guild Wars 2 (we would need some sort of forums for scheduling and other obvious mmo guild related stuffs). They also asked we dont name our guild anything like "Team Liquid" or "Liquid'" or anything like that, as they ask all other guilds and clans for other games. Thats fine.
Thats being said, I got with my husband, whos playing Starcraft 2 as we speak, kicked him in the butt, and told him to finish up and send some PMs to the people who specifically said on this thread "count me in" or "ill join a TL based guild". Anyone else who didnt seem sure, we wont bother you, as we all have plenty of time to look further in the game, and find the guild that works for us. This isn't a zerg guild in the least, and wed rather our reputation speak for itself rather than go out begging people. Im sure thats respectable.
In the meantime, a mini-forum and dedicated url is being finished up, and will run alongside seperate from TL, where we can mingle and chat about Guild Wars 2, theorycraft, work on schedules, as well as poke fun about TL and hang out. So play nice when i send you the PMs . Heck we could even have little 1vs1 SC2 contests there to pass time and of course, meet your future comrades. Just dont take it too seriously Its all about fun.
-Amanda.

I'd love to get in on this; I'm guaranteed to buy the game, and I could use some friendly faces to play with.
|
After recently quitting WoW for good, I'm definitely down to try this when it comes out. Hopefully it will be out soon in 2011
|
|
if I get this game, this will be the guild I want to join
edit: oh no monthly fees? if that's the case i'll most likely give it a shot
|
A friend and I are pretty hyped up about this game. He's pretty casual and I'm a middle-man type. Definitely would love to join a TL community guild when it comes out since I spend all day lurking here anyways. Might actually get to know some people.
I'll keep my eye on this, and as things progress further I may toss you a hello down the road.
|
Definitely up for this. A friend introduced me to the Open Beta for the first game and played it pretty hardcore for about 6 months after release. May have burnt out but it's still one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had.
