Map completion is a pretty good goal. It gets you through the vast majority of PvE content. and it feels less grindy than farming endlessly on Cursed Shore. Plus, the change of scenery is nice, and I've found a few amusing dynamic events and chains that entertained me when I slowed down to listen to the NPC dialogue. Jumping puzzles are also a nice change of pace from grinding. The rewards are still kinda mediocre for them, but I personally am fine with just the experience of completing them. Trying out different paths in exploreable dungeons is also an option. There were some new mini-dungeons/jumping-puzzles added in the Halloween update just today. About four, I think. From the preview videos that I've seen, there are a lot of interesting mechanics involved in them. Personally, I've yet to do the last four story mode dungeons, which I'm planning to do eventually. Because of this, I still haven't finished my last personal story mission which is tied to completing the final dungeon. Also, I'm planning on going through some of the personal story missions on my Asura alt since I heard that the writing for them is pretty amusing.

Farm gold, trade for gems, max out your inventory/bank and get char slots so you can max 1 of every class Most of us want an endgame to progress through to feel like we are doing something. Farming endlessly just to farm with no purpose to use that gear for anything makes it far less enjoyable. You can, and I did, do everything in the game without any exotics. Adding exotics to the mix changes nothing except for make it easier. I feel GW2 needs to add a proper endgame like every other MMO if they want to stay relevant sadly. I thoroughly enjoyed the game but it got boring fairly quick once I hit 80.

Open-world challenges, hard-as-fuck, need to be ORGANISED to complete (with 20+ people minimum i would say, so that even massive zergs of 50 get bumfucked.) Things like event chains in each area, or only the higher level areas. Or stand-alone bosses (like the 3 dragons we have now) in a secluded area. Something like 10-15 of these things would provide players with something to do. (Although im not sure what the rewards could be, maybe chances of rare looking gear unique to that event and high level exo's and mats.) And seeing as its open world, anybody can jump in and enjoy. Zerging is an issue, and its hard to counter with the no holy trinity system (which, i love. fuck dat shizzle.) as anyone can faceroll with marginal differences in success. (Light vs heavy armor etc) Adding a power scaling system to these end-level events and the need for organisation that requires a select number of organised players (say 20) for things like CC, focused fire and whatnot (their job for ideas yo) would make these things have a distinct level of challenge that all these players are looking for. With 10-15 seperate event chains or bosses in different zones nobody would ever be lost for something to do, if each one took between 10-30 minutes to complete and they all had a 1-2 hour "respawn" i think things could work out. Of course these numbers would need testing, theorycrafting and adjustment, this is all a base idea. With so many events available its possible for 5 or so to be on the go at once, so the entire server isnt camping X event chain or big-boss. Also, to prevent the camping of said event chains, requiring a certain item to trigger the event would be a decent idea (Also, from the use of Rift's rift lure system) as players would be required to farm the item to trigger the event (which also gives them more shit to do, "meaningful" shit) and then not waste it by gathering the organised group they would need to complete the event. Casuals still welcome to join in and experience the ride, but the organised group is required to start and complete the event. Man, im going to go post this on their official forums or something, if they implemented something like this it would be awesome :< I think its a pretty awesome idea.

GRIND THE SAME DUNGEONS ENDLESSLY FOR THE .1% DROP WHOOOOOOOOOO. That's fucking terrible. Grinding for the "best gear" so you can win in pvp is terrible. This game is different and it's great for that. You seem to like the standard boring ass mmo formula. I don't know why, but to each his own.
