Closest I do to farming is 1 to 3 runs of explorable mode for 60 tokens a piece. At least its challenging and requires concentration.
Because that event chain is the most efficient way to get karma. Sure I can go run around queens dale getting karma since it scales if I don't care about getting as much as possible in the shortest amount of time. Thats why people stay at cursed cause they want it over with as fast as possible not really because of the enjoyment or spectacle of the DE's.
Its basically a never ending cycle as the chain is always rotating with at most 6-7 min window and very little travel time between events.

I don't blame them for quitting. I haven't logged in for like a month. The game got stale for me and I was ONLY level 50. *SMH*
I should have never believed the GW2 hype. Yeah you only have to pay $60 and no monthly fees, but if you think about it you're paying for like 5 months of replay value. ($12 x 5). I played WoW for years and it kept me interested. This game didn't even last a month for me.
The first early release day was fun when everyone was level 1-5, but once people started power leveling to 80 the game quickly went downhill for me. Now I can't login without being surrounded by level 80s.

Which one should I pick? I don't want to make a mistake already TT.
I haven't logged on in a bit, but there's not much of a mistake of a server you can pick, as you can transfer for free once a day. If you have friends playing, just pick the server they're on. There are some worlds that are dominant at WvW, but they also have very long queue times.

It sure is inconvenient when people around you are level 80... oh wait.
Also, ANet is great with events which keeps the game fresh. Halloween will have a week+ long event, and it will add permanent content to the game as well.
Of course if you don't enjoy the game there's nothing I can do for that, but I have 230 hours played so far and I'm not bored yet. I have a level 80 with 100% map and a level 66 as well. Still a TON of stuff to do (I don't have any crafting maxed out, I have only done 1 dungeon so far, I haven't finished the storyline, I haven't even begun to farm karma for legendaries and such, I haven't gotten most of the achievements, etc).
There is a lot of replay value in the game so it is very unfair to trash it on that. As I said, if you don't enjoy the gameplay that's OK, but it's not because of lack of content.
i played 150+ hours, have a level 80 (only like 63% map completion though), a level 57 and several more lower levels characters. i don't play nearly as much as the beginning of the september but it's still fun to jump back in once in a while to do some map completion on my level 80, or do the story on my alternates. i feel like gw2 is not gonna replace WoW as a massive hardcore timesink, but rather just be a fun diversion (after all, that's what games should be right?) that you can enjoy once in a while. it's definitely a casual game and people that expect it to be super hardcore are naturally disappointed.
If you aren't into WvW or sPvP , the fun ends very soon after you get your full exotics and alts. Like, it goes into fullstop and you just dont know what to do anymore.

Then GW2 isn't really for you. Nevertheless getting to 80 without rushing takes around 80 hours. If you look at this like a single player game, it isn't that bad. Maybe it isn't the revolution people were expecting but it's certainly a game I'll keep playing for the next few years even if I only put less than 5 hours a week into it.

I have played 167 hours so far, still am level 65, entered a dungeon once (and got destroyed), my crafting skills are ~230, my map completion is at around 20-30%, never done any sPvP, never entered WWW, playing the game every evening after work since it launched and loving every single minute of it. At this rate, the game should keep me busy for at least 500 hours.
It's all about how you play the game.
P.S. Can't wait to see what mad king Thorn brings us :D Trick or treat ?!
I quit couple weeks after launch. Felt like I had seen the entire PvE content upon hitting lvl 80 and I got bored at SPvP after only hitting Gladiator. Just means I'm done with traditional MMORPG's I guess, nice to confirm that after quitting WoW a few years back.
It's not a bad game but it didn't bring anything new to the genre and I doubt if many are going to find any real longevity here.

all update times are PST ... and they usually do it in the evening. This means that everything gets delayed by half a day for us Europeans. I expect the update to come tonight or tomorrow morning.
P.S. I have no idea how they will do it with the events themselves as anet says they will occur on "midday PST". This pretty much translates to midnight for Europe which kinda sucks. I hope they will have separate event times for us.

Your comparison to WoW is terrible. You only counted the cost of 5 months recurring subscription fee, not the $100-$150 you have to fork over just to play the latest expansion. I would heavily suggest to anyone to play GW2, even if it's a 1-week thing they still got their monies worth of entertainment if you compare it to other forms of entertainment, like movies, sports, music and stuff like that.
It's better for ANet that you indeed do stop playing, less strain on their servers.

Rumor has it that it's coming at 5 pm PST, according to a few forum posts and some map chat.

Guild Wars expansions cost money as well and WoW expansions are not $100-$150.

That $100-150 quote price was counting all the expansions together, he said to play the latest expansion.

Damn being in school, if this were summer I would train my butt off to make a Last Pride team...
When the team's ready please post the streams to the thread, I'd love to watch.
