Yeah I rolled a necro for a little while in spvp and couldn't believe how retarded the pets were. Like the dev slammed his face into the keyboard for their AI and then ended it. And since they rely on DoT damage I wouldn't think they're the best for pve either.

Heh, the ai can be a bit annoying at times but I still have no problems cleaning house. You're almost completely unkillable if you play it right. Honestly I've had more trouble using a 'not-pet' build than anything else.

While MM necro is completely not an option for now, I disagree that you shouldn't pick necro at all. I leveled pretty easily and faster than mates I was playing with who were thief/warr/mes/engi/ranger using this heavy AoE condition build. I was doing lv49 story quests by about lv30 without any issues. The golem is really just there as a failsafe tank in case there were ranged enemies which would literally do 60% of my health in one shot. Stopped doing the story after that because it took a year to kill anything because of being so underleveled, but the XP was ridiculous. Anything in my own level range would die in the one rotation.
Basic rotation would be pull one of the tankier mobs with Blood is Power, followed by Deathly Swarm to transfer the extra bleeds, Enfeebling Blood next as these bleeds are the second longest of the rotation, then Grasping Dead, weapon swap to staff and use your Mark of Blood, then cast epidemic, move in to the centre of your pull and drop Well of Suffering, then enter Death Shroud and Life Transfer. Once life transfer ends, everything should be dead. If not, just swap back to Scepter/Dagger and use another Grasping Dead as it'll be off CD.

necro is just fine in pve since it doesnt matter at all if its one or 5 mobs.
and condition damage doesnt take THAT long to kill something, the bleeds duration is only 3 seconds, so its not like it takes 10 seconds longer to kill a mob compared to a direct damage class.

Yes it takes quite some time for the bleed to kill them not to mention tons of duration trait on dots are broken.
I was talking in comparison of Necro PvE against Warrior PvE.
The guy above saying necro leveling PvE faster than warrior clearly haven't seen a competent warrior wiping mobs that are higher level than the warrior himself in a matter of seconds.
What's that spinning skill that they use? Their Hundred Blade are also quite strong.

as i said, bleed lasts about 3 seconds, so at the most it takes 3 more seconds to kill with conditions than with direct damage.
anyways, the discussion is fruitless because leveling is not done by grinding mobs.

What is the longest duration bleed there is? Some time ago I had a 30-40 second damage condition on me and I could've sworn it was bleed.

If anyone is interested in joining a guild on Ehmry that does a few more things together PM me. I'll still stay TLRR fo life!!! Just the guild I found its much easier to get parties together for dungeons and there are alot of active members I was really surprised how many. The commander for WvW of the guild is a Master Zerg player so thats cool actually talked about TL alot.
So if anyone is interested shoot me a pm or Tell in game.

Mine is stuck at 46,055 / 50,000 I just did a story quest + some events, the quest itself was 10,000 xp but it wont move from the 46k xp ever ...

pretty sure it restarts after you get a previous achievement
basically you'd need to get 75k exp to get the 25k+50k achievement without dying. or you could get 25k, then die, then get 50k, etc. i never noticed the bar moving either

Apparently you have to not change maps or something for that achievement? I dunno, I ended up randomly completing it at some point.

46k is your current highest xp in one sitting. It doesn't reset if you fail, it only shows your 'highscore' on that one. So right now, you might be only at 30k.
