If the main area, for example 'Queensdale' is full and you try to join it you will be put into one of many overflow 'shard**' servers shared between the standard servers. It is supposed to function so that if you and your friends are put into seperate overflow servers you can jump between them so you're playing together. That functionality seemed to be off/on throughout yesterday, working sometimes and not at all for others.
For example, I was in an overflow server consisting of;
Desolation (Home)
Augury Rock (FR)
~Some German Server~
~Some other random EU server~.
You're also put into a queue for your own home server, and as soon as the spot opens up for you it gives you and option to jump straight back to it. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to see each other if you were on the normal server though.

The overflow basically allows you to avoid any 'queues' that other MMOs force you to sit through when the server is full.

Yeah I haven't seen many rushers in this game, unlike my experience with WoW. It's the first time I've ever just sat back and leveled slow as well, great change of pace.

So how are you guys leveling, I just did both level 8 'help areas' and also one for level 9 and I still haven't hit level 9..

I am literally stuck on a Norn personal story because it is far too difficult to complete alone.
It's called Minotaur Rampant, and I am a 14 Thief (10 corrected level), and cant come close to beating it.

Start crafting, gathering, exploring vistas, points of interests, etc. I made the mistake of skipping out on crafting and gathering and I regret it because I've been hitting a few brick walls. It really sucks because the trading post has been down and I can't buy mats for crafting. :<

Can someone explain to me, who's not played this but watched a few streamers, what is actually going on?
It looks like people are only positioning and then proceed to roll their face over their keyboards/skillbar.
Any tactics/skill involved with skilluse? Looks like a very low cooldown spamfest.
I watched Kungen kill a couple high hp things that i'd thought were minibosses. I didn't notice any loot on the ground or windows for it popping up. There actually are drops, aren't there?
Also: played GW1 from the beta, does this have as good a storyline (welp, for a game, and an MMO at that) and longterm pvp?

Idk why you would want someone who hasn't played it to explain, but I also played GW1 and to me this game feels like a step up from WoW, and not GW1, with so many cookie cutter RPGs out now it does a okay job on attempting to break the mold. It honestly feels like a hack n slash; in the beginning at least. Oh and about drops you don't actually see the item name when there is a drop. When an enemy is killed, if they have an item on their corpse you will start seeing tiny fluttering lights hovering up from their body, and you go over and spam F to pick it all up.
I liked GW1 because of the crazy amount of possibilities you could have by combining the skills of 2 classes which amounts to about 600 skills. In this it depends on what weapon you're holding and you just herp derp spam on cool downs until shit is dead.
PS: This is only a preliminary opinion on what I feel about the beginning of the game.

yeah as someone who spend several thousand ours in gw 1 am slightly disappointed with this game as well but nevertheless I kinda enjoy playing it because I tell myself this isnt supposed to be gw 1. but yeah It feels really hack N Slay'ish
Ill never good old times when I finished my first Realm of Pain fullrun with Meteorshower ele's in like 15hours whereas when I stopped playing around 3 years ago we could do it in 54minutes with a shadowform assassin tank and cry of pain mesmers hehe.
And it's not easy to release a game which had such amazing pvp modi like HA or GvG, but what am I saying, Im only lvl 15 pve might get more interesting and I didnt even have a chance to test the pvp stuff yet.
