You can draw many similarities between GW2 dynamic events and traditional questing, but to me it's like questing revolutionised. And I love it.

That being said I didnt really run into any dynamic event issues until after level 10 on my norn toon, but story wise so far, the human noble story is much more impressive.

+ Show Spoiler + So you bring in a minister for trial and accuse him of being a scheming traitor that kidnaps people and steals things. The judge asks him for his response and he quotes an ancient law that gives him the right to combat his accuser. If he wins the fight he is innocent and completely free to go, if he loses and dies he is guilty. Everyone accepts this proposal and you fight him. Really?

I love the questing, it's the opposite of other MMOs, the more people around you the better! I picked 3 elixir skills, a good rifle and went PvPing, Every half a minute I would just burst someone down with 1800-2300dmg hits (10hits in a 5second spam, kills anyone). Only (major) thing I dislike is that every class has so many escape mechanisms+heal that you just can't chase someone down 1v1 (if they have a clue, that is)

I played a bit of PvP, and I had no problem closing the gap ![]() But yeah, ranged is definitely more powerful than melee so far.

The more the merrier. Despite my frusterations with norn events past level 10 as you can read in my 2 posts on the previous page, so far the human ones have been entertaining and have had far better designs. Its a shame all race zones werent created equal, as it could turn people playing say a norn away from the game when if they had chosen a human they may have had a vastly different experience and a better time. Level 25 , im jealous! I really wish i could just keep playing my norn necro but its too painful, we will see how far i can get today. Anyone know what time the beta ends in pacific time?

I'm enjoying the game a lot -- spent a long time playing each class a little bit to get a feel for how each plays and works. One thing they could fix is that giving each class access to every weapon within the first few hearts that way you can level up each skill and get a good idea about all of the different weapon abilities. Leveling is a mix of good and bad. I do enjoy the whole leveling flow. Going from heart to heart and doing all the dynamic events that pop up along the way. The epic zerg-fests on some bosses looked cool, but felt underwhelming. It seemed that the more players there were doing the event the less fun it was. Killing bosses with only a couple other players was a lot more satisfying and challenging. Things do not seem that well paced as once I felt under-leveled (~2-3 levels lower than the hearts I was completing). This was good as it was more challenging, but it made me repeat some of the events I had already completed. The chat system is pretty poor. The game needs /say chat bubbles as I am so focused on what's happening on my screen that I don't have time to constantly look at the bottom left tiny chat box. My biggest negative I feel is the lack of social interaction with other players. Sure you are playing with other characters ALL the time, but you never have to communicate with these people. Relationships are never made with other players. Perhaps a product of the poor chat system, but I really did feel like I was playing a single player game with NPCs around me doing the same thing.

Equal areas? the diversity is what makes it nice! if you don't like your area just go to a different one. I created a human, and after few levels went to charr area so I can be with guys from my guild. Later on I made a norn and I loved the snowy area. The levels are not that hard to come by either. I basically made a 1/4 of human area, 3/4 of charr area and like 1/4 of norn area. I have a human and a norn.

You know that mail you get after every quest? It's not them just sucking your dick for how good you are, they apparently have fucking money attached to them. I JUST figured this out and got an influx of like 40 silver lol.

In this one you have to defend the water pipes from bandits, a few of the pipes got busted but we succeeded and since a few of them got busted we got a second event chain where we defended the workers repairing the water pipes. If we had failed to defend the irrigation systems watering the crops would have stopped and the crops would fail to grow. Its a small thing but at least its something I finally saw where an event actually had a potentially lasting effect (none of them are really that lasting though as the events are on timers for every certain amount of minutes so really my actions only taking into account until the next event starts)

I dont mean equal like they should merge them, i mean i wish their entertainment value was equal, obviously thats subjective but there are alot of people complaining about story , events etc in the norn area on my server and everyone just seems to be having a good time in the Human area. By equal i meant equal in terms of polish , design and the entertainment value of the story (which like i said is subjective, but most people in the norn territory will tell you that the story is rubbish)

I thought warrior was a bit lackluster at first, but a 2H sword dropped and I became a mindless killing machine. Smashing the ground with a hammer is also pretty great.

What do we make of this? What we say here is very subjective. I am a person who tries to find all the best in everything that comes, and I don't care what others think. I take it as it comes and enjoy it as it is. You can have great views everywhere, have fun doing quests everywhere too. People are also biased and can be easily manipulated by other people surrounding them, often creating negative thouts in them. Also people have different preferences. If you don't like the norn area.. well.. then don't play it. It's hard to make everyone happy. And it's easy to find reasons why you don't like it if it's in your mind that you don't like it in the first place.

I'm not an avid MMO player and I generally only play them for PvP, but this questing has been a blast so far and the PvE combat is very engaging. Going 1 on 1 with an elite 2 levels above me was unlike any PvE experience I've ever had. The whole fight took about 2 minutes and I nearly died multiple times. Fighting a giant who is an elite 1v1 in an open field was rather intense.

I came into this game thinking it was going to be an mmo revolution (like they pretty much promised) so it certainly isnt the case that I was finding reasons not to like it because i came in with a negative attitude. I didnt realize there was a beta event this weekend until friday, when i found out i immediately hopped in my car went to gamestop and prepurchased a copy. I dont think hardly anyone playing the open beta who prepurchased a copy would be coming into this game with a negative attitude, usually people preorder and prepurchase because they are entusiastic about the game. Especially because you have to prepurchase the whole game , i could understand if you got access fromm a preorder where anyone that put 5 bucks down could try it out there would be some less than enthused people who just wanted to try it out but the most of the people playing this weekend are people who are so enthusiastic about the game that they are willing to commit to buying a copy before even trying the beta and when they havent even announced a release date yet.
