Hof often did we cleared dungeons that exactly match one another. This proves the low effort of production. -Compagnions: Worse than in DAO and much worse than in Mass Effect. They feel like prototypes instead of actual persons. -Crafting and Items. Such a superficial depth. -way too many fights. -logical mistakes that kill the atmosphere -the story
Positive: -Better fighting system than in DAO -good ability trees -some quests were outstanding good -the concept of following your character over years
This game feels like a try to make quick money with low production value, compared to what the game could and should have been. We just expect better games from Bioware nowadays.
Can you give an example of those annoying quests and logical mistakes without revealing how the story develops beyond level 10?
Also I thought that the companions are a lot more well made than in DA:O as they don't just get thrown at you (Leliana, Sten), but instead have their own interests and stories that lead them to you, you are more involved with them and how they live and do quests for them, in agreement with them and they are not just sitting there doing nothing when you don't have them in your group, as Anders and Merril for example have places to live and occupations of their own.
I think it was an improvement over DA:O on almost all fronts save for the graphic/design style and it felt almost like being back in Baldur's Gate again despite the completely different combat system and viewing angle.

Yes. One of my last quests involved the choice to kill a very important person (now that is no spoiler as every quest is about killing), being forced to kill a lot of other people and my companion just doesn't care about that. No talking afterwars, where there should have been tears and despair.
Beat the game with a 2-hand Reaver, I love the combat system and Had a ton of fun killing shit. The story was good, But like many others, I felt I didn't have much choice in anything I did. The story plays out the same no matter what it seems.
With DA:O I wanted to play through with every class/race that I could before I got bored, One play through with my first character and I feel a bit bored with it. I played the rogue class until the end of act one, I didn't have fun with it. Maybe If I went for a refined build but It seems like the most fun comes from the warrior class for me.
I plan on a least trying the others, I might even go play Origins over, then come back to a second time around DA2.
I wish I could restart this one with the same character with all the gear and exp I earned, But On an insane difficulty.
I am near the end of the game now and I must say something positive about this game. The companion interaction and banter is better then any other game I played so far (and I have been playing cRPGs from the time of Diablo 1 and BG1). They really put a lot of effort to keep the banter in step with what is going on currently and not only they repeating same lines over and over. Also conversations are often and about important stuff about your, the city and them. I really liked that. They seemed like real people because of that. This still didn't make them more interesting then Morrigan or some Kotor1/2 characters (or even some NWN2 and BG1/2 characters) but this part was done better then in those games.
This banter is what keeps me wanting to finish the game. It is a shame that they didn't put as much effort into other parts of the game. It could have been so epic if they did.
Just a tip for the ones going nightmare, when you are about to go to the Deep Roads (end instance Act 1) make sure every char in your party has lightning resistance (gem socket). Otherwise the Rock Wraith boss will be impossible to handle. Had to switch to Hardmode to kill it, had nothing saved in before entering Deep Roads :S. I had only Varric with lightning resistance and he could eat through the aoe damage while other ranged were crying.
Constantly moving away from his 20 aoe range will result in very poor dps, you will not be able to nuke him down. And will eventually die at like 75% of his health due to too much damage taken. My party consisted of Hawke (2-H warrior no stun/knockback resistance), Varric, Merril, Anders. On hardmode you can nuke him down but on nightmare you can forget about it without lightning resistance. Nightmare fight with LR should look something like..
Sc players cant micro rock wraith? I did it with sword and board Hawke, badly spec'd/no panacea abilities Anders, Varric and Beth. The AOE is not that bad at all on nightmare. Unless you mean the explosive one rather than vortex, in which case you take zero dmg anyway by hiding behind the pillars.
It was extremely hard with my team but good micro won it for me. Cant imagine how easy 2h war is
the wraith is very weak to cold and spirit, immune to electricity, What i did was have anders spam heal and barrier on the group exploiting mytar while i wailed at him when he was exposed. I did it with Anders Varric and Merrill, while i just rouge it up after lacing my blades with poison to slow attack speed. I cheat though and respec before bosses, it's costly earily in the game being 3ish gold to respec for boss then respec back for mobs for each character but makes life easier haha.
I wish that game took game saves before bosses and added them to like a boss mode so you can try bosses throughout the story properly leveled and spec'd but change up difficulties.
i just finished this game, and i enjoyed it even if its worse than the 1st one. the combat was much more fun. the story was blah but the journey didnt get me bored. even though it was in one town most of the time, made sense really. i just really hope they make a dlc for it because i could see the story going further.

I hated it for different reasons. Giving a boss ridiculous amounts of HP and making one phase immune to melee isn't fun, it's annoying and painful. Honestly felt like I was playing WoW all over again -_-
Lol i was at a friends house playing the dark prince dlc or w.e and there is a part where you go underground it looks like a semi new level but it's just recycled level from the bone pit with new textures the lay out is so freaking similar T_T, ofc the house level used in that is also just recycled. man they must have like 1 guy doing levels
Q: What is your least favorite thing about working in the industry?
A: Playing the games. This is probably a terrible thing to admit, but it has definitely been the single most difficult thing for me. I came into the job out of a love of writing, not a love of playing games... I'm really terrible at so many things which most games use incessantly -- I have awful hand-eye coordination, I don't like tactics, I don't like fighting, I don't like keeping track of inventory, and I can't read a game map to save my life.
Q: If you could tell developers of games to make sure to put one thing in games to appeal to a broader audience which includes women, what would that one thing be?
A: A fast-forward button. Games almost always include a way to "button through" dialogue without paying attention, because they understand that some players don't enjoy listening to dialogue and they don't want to stop their fun. Yet they persist in practically coming into your living room and forcing you to play through the combats even if you're a player who only enjoys the dialogue.

This is hilarious, because the Combat in DA2 is perhaps the most meaningless, tedious and boring out of any game I've played in the past 5 years lol. And the plot is aweful.

You got it backwards.
She was the lead writer of DA2. She was one of the assistant writers on DA:O. DA:O's lead writer was the lead writer for Baldurs Gate 2, who left after DA:O. Then the hambeast AKA Jennifer Helper AKA "Based her romance scenes on Twilight" AKA wants to remove the game from games for more story took over.
