my first thought was that this couldnt be legal. but my second thought was of course it is. you dont buy the game, you buy a license to play the game, a license that is subject to the terms and conditions set forth by the publisher. locking you out of a paid for game is truly one of the dumbest things a publisher could do, but apparently they feel justified in doing this.

That's unforgiveable. It's an EA thing because that's what the Bioware employee states underneath the rectangled part, their forum rules are part of a greater whole. Ofcourse it's absolutely immensely stupid for a ban of an online forum to affect a single player game, sounds like a kneejerk reaction to forum troll outbursts.

At first I thought you were justifying them doing this, but now I'm not sure. I understand they can LEGALLY do this. What I dont understand is why the fuck they are, considering it's the biggest dick move ever. I can sort of understand too if it was multiplayer, but it's SINGLE PLAYER ONLY. Way to alienate your entire community Bioware. And yes, it is a bioware thing considering it's a bioware employee on a bioware forum on a bioware website.

I don't like Bioware's handling of DA:2 (forum and game) but I feel this is more EA being retarded than them (and EA is always super retarded).

They are clearly having some sort of meltdown over the public's reaction to DA2. They are even claiming all the negativity is the result of "4chan trolls" Blaming shit on 4chan is always a fallback for internet communities if something bad happens. People didn't like their game. It's as simple as that. People associate 4chan with /b/ for some reason. The other boards for the most part are just fine and dandy. I remember when I used to go to /v/ when DA:O was released. They fucking hated it, there were threads everywhere bashing it for sucking compared to Baldurs Gate 2. Yet, it had 4000+ metacritic reviews over a 9.0. Yet DA2 has almost 600 of 2.0's. So they call it a 4chan raid.

For people who are deep into DA2, did you find it more enjoyable further into the game? And are you confined within Kirkwall for the majority of the time?

Pros: - Nice and smooth graphics (very high) - Sarcastic dialog option made me laugh so many times - Gameplay - Nice talent trees + variation of ability/buffs/spells Cons: - Reuse of maps was :S - "Grindy" - Storyline was mediocre - Dialog choices do not have enough impact on the main character development (go for sarcastic option every time, at least you'll get a good laugh out of it). My group mostly consisted of 2 dps warrior and 2 mages (+50% speed + healing). If you want some nice dps out of your dps warrior I'd suggest berserker tree with +50% speed. The 2 mage speed group buffs (chain one after another) + 2 dps warriors with 2-handers = epic dps. For the people about to start with the game as warrior dps main char. The "green" talent tree is a must (the one with second wind and other stamina recovering abilities). Often you'll find yourself without any stamina for your abilities on longer battles if you don't go for stamina/mana recovery abilities. Also I'd stay away from vendor weapons and armor, there are lots of decent drops throughout the game. I found 2 nice necklaces which I went all the way to endgame with (one gives better loot other one has extra coin drop). Overall I'd score the game 7.9/10 (mostly due to some epic sarcastic dialogs) Otherwise it would be like 6.5/10

This is the reason why they take so damn long releasing a game. They make sure they get it right by taking their time doing betas and listening to feedback from the community.

EA really wanted to capitalize on the success of Origins, so the game was really being pushed hard to be released now. I don't even know how anyone could defend this POS now. Its really clear that EA is essentially just exploiting its fanbase without any kind of consideration for customers.

No, it has nothing to do with gamers today being dumb or stupid or uneducated, it's just gamers today want fun. Games are supposed to be fun. Reading isn't fun, period. Well you know it's cool when you attack me for something I didn't say but I have to rebut that you're kind of stupid.

I mean, remember when they said that they wouldn't send reviewers copies of their games if they wrote bad reviews for whatever game last year? That is pretty damn ridiculous. It's like they're promoting the piracy of their own game -_-

Did anyone else see the comment Kennigit made in the thread he closed about this? That guy will always stay a kid, I guess. Well, always better than Rekrul I guess. EA should hire some TL moderators. Will help clean out this place. A new purge is needed for sure.

I liked the combat aspect of the game and the lore (well I played DA 1), however I find the game too rushed out, and as usual, commercialized by EA (nothing new about that.., hopefully DLCs will make it worth my while.)
