I'd say he clearly had control of the ball by every reasonable criteria - but not by rule, as it clearly shifted when he hit the ground.

I've watched every Steeler's game since Mendenhall came into the NFL ( obviously far before that too) and this is FAR AND AWAY the most impressive he has ever looked.
