Let's assume - since it was a last-second TD, and those are always reviewed - that the initial signal had been confirmed by the head referee, and the play was reviewed with the "ruling on the field" being that it was a touchdown. Is there sufficient incontrovertible evidence to overturn that ruling? Go on. I'm waiting.

Edit: Nvm it was counting cowboys defense as having perfect score, so I need like 20 points from them. Hrnnnnnnnnngh.

Well, at least now we know not to trash you for "Vikings are awesome" rants. Despite being a Bears fan, I hope you're right about them pulling around, because I can't have QB play like that all season. Fantasy football has taken me out of being a fan of a team. I'm just a fan of certain players performing well now. I think I'm quitting after this year; it's really wrecked my enjoyment of the game. I was so pissed when Forte went yard on that long TD pass, and even more so when he got the second... that's not right. How do you feel about Lovie? Everyone I've talked to seems to just loathe the guy and say he's ruining the team. I didn't pay super close attention to the game today, has the offensive line improved at all or Cutler just going to get destroyed again.

When did he get overruled (and why, and by whom) to make the "ruling on the field" an incomplete catch via the process rule? Let's assume - since it was a last-second TD, and those are always reviewed - that the initial signal had been confirmed by the head referee, and the play was reviewed with the "ruling on the field" being that it was a touchdown. Is there sufficient incontrovertible evidence to overturn that ruling? Go on. I'm waiting. I think the rule has been discussed enough to say that yes, there was enough to overturn it. That video follows CJ around too much, and never shows the other referees, so who knows when it was overturned or who overturned it? There's no doubt that, according to the rule book, it was an incomplete pass. Any sane person would deem that a catch though. In any case, discussing it more and more isn't going to change the ruling or the rule, so it's best to just let it go, imo. I know it's tough as a fan of a team to do so, but there's no sense in brooding over it.

I didn't pay super close attention to the game today, has the offensive line improved at all or Cutler just going to get destroyed again. I don't blame Lovie nearly as much as most people; I think Angelo is the main culprit in the Bears inefficiencies, as he and his team have vastly overrated many players since 2006, leading to a general lack of talent throughout the team. I don't believe that one good year in free agency is enough to make up for the past four years of lackluster drafting, and recruiting. Their first round picks have all been busts since '06, and before that too (Rex was the #17 overall). That doesn't absolve Lovie from blame, though. He's made a number of poor decisions that have hurt the team (firing Rivera, for instance). Further, he refuses to adjust his defensive schemes, despite not having the personnel to run a Cover 2 effectively. There's nothing wrong with that scheme, imo, but you have to have a dominant 3-technique (3-technique meaning: fast first step, ability to shed blockers, ability to make plays behind the line of scrimmage, ability to create inside pressure and ability to sack the quarterback. C&P from some site, not gonna cite it). The refusal to change that, along with typically poor play calling and some times questionable clock management lead me to want Lovie out as well. To their line issues: the entire Bears organization refuses to get rid of players, because of draft status. Chris Williams is not a LT. He probably never will be; he can't handle the position, and that becomes more apparent on a daily basis. Due to incredibly poor drafting, the Bears currently have no one to replace him with, though. Their two guards are looking okay, and Kreutz is still the man. Omeyale was a miss in free agency, I don't blame them for that... a few teams thought he was going to be a very good RT, and it didn't pan out. It happens; I'm not too disgusted by that one miss, but compiled with the plethora of other misses... it became a trend sometime ago, and it is not a good trend. Therefore, the miss on Omeyale does not somehow create a circumstance in which one can say "well, that can be said about the draft picks too." It's acceptable to miss from time to time, no team is perfect in their picks, and free agency moves; good teams can accept when they've made bad decisions and move on with their lives, though. For whatever reason, the Bears don't do that. I feel safe saying that if the Vikings had made the move for Omayele, and it blew up in their faces-- like it did in the Bears' faces last year--they would have removed him from the starting rotation and plugged someone else in. If for no other reason than to see what you have in your other players. You know X sucks, so you try Y. If Y also sucks, then you get Z to replace them and hope that Z is better. It's a pretty simple, and completely logical process, but the Bears front office and coaching cannot figure that out, for whatever reason. That is probably way more of a response than what you were looking for.

Well, they have a good QB and a competent coach now, and they've had decent personnel for a while, so it wouldn't be too surprising. But this is more Dallas incompetence. Except for the botched snap, which was Washington incompetence. Or the 3 straight pass plays instead of running from 5 yds out.
