I'm pretty sure anyway. I'm almost positive that it starts on Sunday, like the regular week in the U.S. (I say it that way, because I know Monday is the start of the week some places in Europe, not trying to be a dick.) Jackson's meant more to the season, and it was such an intense game, I think his return deserves the top play award. Still, Hester's was a record that might never be broken, so I can see why people would choose that one instead.

1. I told everyone. Drew Staton is the Lions' franchise QB! We won a division and road game, got a come from behind win in the 4th quarter, and held onto a 4th quarter lead! This guy is a hero. Go green, go white. And I know that Mo' Morris isn't exactly AP, but the Lions actually ran the ball well for once. Amazing. 2. What happened to Bobby Thigpen for the Dolphins? Chad Henne is such a scrub. Hopefully it means the Lions can make it three in a row! 3. Why did Brett Favre play? The Vikings have five wins. He should have sat since he was injured and probably won't be there next year anyway, so that Joe Webb could have played a full game, got some much-needed snaps, and then the team could have gotten a better reading on him. Plus, isn't it better for the Vikings to lose anyway? They can get higher draft picks. 4. Finally, I don't know what I can add to the Giants implosion that you guys haven't said already, but it seemed like Vick just had some kind of "Virginia Tech mode" and made the Giants D look like some FCS scrub team. And I agree with Hawk. All the talk on TV if the Eagles play the Falcons in the NFC Championship game will probably make me shoot myself. I'm glad the Bears got in, they're the only team I like in the NFC North I'm going to facepalm if my Niners somehow get in the playoffs. I really hope the Rams and Seahawks stop teasing us by continuously losing. The 49ers need to solve their QB situation once and for all and get rid of Singletary.

One TD doesn't make you a franchise QB. He played alright vs Tampa though. Favre played because he's a man, and men don't sit idly by and watch their team get rolled because they're a little hurt. Even though it'd make more sense to tank and get a higher pick, players have pride, and Favre absolutely gave them the best chance to win the game. Joe Webb isn't their QB of the future, so him getting snaps isn't really necessary.

What do the Vikings need to get in the draft anyway? Defense?

I think OL and QB are their biggest need. Favre is probably not coming back again, I think these last two injuries are going to permanently sideline him, and he seems like a guy that is ready to finally let go of football. He didn't seem that way when he retired from the Packers, which is why he came back. TJax has had opportunities, and he's looked pretty mediocre once teams game plan for him. I think he's a career back up, and that's probably how the Vikings view him too. Joe Webb needs way too much work to be a good QB in the NFL. If a team can spend eight years trying to make him good, then he might make it; he's not athletic enough to overcome his deficiencies in the passing game in the short term, and there is no "long term" in the NFL anymore... ask all the coaches that were canned this season after less than five years with their teams. Maybe with better coaching they can make that front five cohesive again and they can just get a good QB in the draft. But then they aren't going to win a Super Bowl with a rookie QB... If the front seven of the D plays to their full potential the D will be good again. I think that Cook could be a good player, and the same with Asher Allen. Both DB's have some potential, and they could help an aging Winfield a lot with a season under their belts next year. They're going to have a need at DT soon too. Pat Williams is like 38 years old, it's unlikely that he'll play more than another year, if that. He's going to be very difficult to replace. Their safeties are not that good, but that is something the can be overcome if they get great play out of the front seven again. I think it's still a really talented team, but it's getting old very quickly. Their best shot was probably the '09 season, and they fell a game short (i.e. they were robbed in the NFC Championship, because that was NOT a correct PI call... they need to make that challengeable next year). I think the Vikings are probably done for 3-5 years at this point. If they're smart, they'll go into rebuilding mode next year while they have vets that can help bring along some young guys. There's too many old players on this team.

A penalty that can have that type of impact on a game should be reviewable. The Vikings should not have scored that second TD last night, and wouldn't have if PI were reviewable, because Major Wright had good coverage on the play, it wasn't PI, imo. And what do you mean free trial of Red Zone? I thought it came with the sports package.

And what do you mean free trial of Red Zone? I thought it came with the sports package. I have the AT&T cable and with my package I get NFL Network but not RedZone. I had like a month free trial or something but it ended. I guess I need to get the next package. : / Edit: Since we're talking about penaltes, I was watching Jags-Colts Sunday and I saw Dwight Freeney get his whole hand on David Garrard's helmet twice in the same drive, but there was no penalty. Yet some guy on the Eagles got a penalty for having his finger touch Peyton's helmet. Maybe I'm looking to far into it but still, the inconsistency of the calls bothers me. :x Even the commentators were talking about how Freeney was lucky to not get a penalty.
