That said, I'm down 76-50 in the non-TL league (got my ass handed to me by BroOd, too in the TL league), with Wayne to go (he has Vinatieri), but the second place in my division lost already, locking up a third straight playoff berth for me. This works out very well, too, because I didn't want the number one seed anyway. I almost always have horrible games against my division. Hopefully this team can turn it around for the playoffs. Maybe if Wayne gets a couple of 75+ yd TD's I can still win this though. That'd be, I think like 16 points per TD (bonus points for length). Whatever, I'm in the playoffs, and I should at least make my money back this year. If my players, other than Vick, can pull their heads out of their asses again, I'll be golden. That game was horribly mismanaged by Reid at the end. No one has ever accused him of being a smart game manager though. Just.....watching it happen every time.....suffice to say the remote goes across the room I ragequit that game I haven't done that in years I couldn't take it

"As bad as we played, we lost by five and they know we're a better team," left tackle Jason Peters said. from here I couldn't possibly disagree with this more. Philly controlled TOP in the first half, but still gave up a lot of big plays. The Bears won the first half, and controlled the game pretty well, despite having the ball for less time. They harassed Vick very well (3 sacks for -31 yards in the first half), and forced him into his first INT of the season (also, probably, the single most important play in the game). They then went and extended the lead to two scores to end the half. The Bears then came out and owned the third quarter, and let up in the fourth when the game was all but over. It never felt like their lead was in danger, to me, and probably not to them. Philly had a hard time getting into the end zone all game, and it never felt like they were going to pull it together and score a touchdown on a long drive. What the Bears did was force Philadelphia to play the Bears game, rather than allowing them to play Philadelphia's game. They took the big play away from Philly, had a bunch of big plays of their own, and at the end of the game, they made Philly kill the clock on themselves with their protective defense. People rag on the T2 scheme a lot, but it's absolutely brilliant in a situation like the one we saw today. If executed properly, the T2 scheme forces the team trying to come back to take underneath routes over the middle, and keep the clock running. If they want to wait for something to open up down field, then they're going to have to deal with a pass rush, and potentially lose a lot of yards. It's an excellent scheme, if a team has a large enough lead to play it. In any case, I think the Bears had, probably, the second best showing of the week (overshadowed only by San Diego's dominance of the Colts, who are clearly not the same team we've seen over the past 12 years). The lead they established never felt in jeopardy. They took Philly's game away from them, and didn't allow them to score touchdowns when they got into the red zone. The last TD was garbage, it didn't matter; after that, it was just recovering an onside kick, and kneeling three times. The game went almost exactly how I had envisioned it being played out all week. I didn't think Vick would throw for over three hundred yards against them, but I gave room for the possibility. What I said was that Philly would move the ball down to the red zone, and not be able to score a TD. Aside from one time in the first half, and the garbage TD to end the game, I was exactly correct. I was slightly off on Vick turnovers, I said two, he had one. He could easily have had three or four though. Almost everything I thought was going to happen in this game happened. Does that mean that the Bears are necessarily the better overall team? No. Does that mean that Philly is lower than a top three team in the conference? No. I just thought the Bears matched up extremely well against them, because of their front four, and their defensive philosophy. They did what they've done all season. When it mattered, they gave up yards, but did not give up points. Discounting the TD at the end of the game, they gave up 19 points to the most explosive offense in the league.

We've seen year after year, coordinator after coordinator, the offense is great; he has his prints all over that offense, and all over that team. But he's not a good head coach, because he always makes mistakes like that, which cost him games. It's not occasional mishaps, either; this is as consistent a trend as four thousand yard seasons for Peyton Manning. When Andy Reid makes the right call, people say "Oh wow, he got one right this time." With a good coach, say Bellicheck, people say "Wow, I can't believe he messed that one up so badly." Andy is a fool when it comes to proper game management. Then the Eagles should have gone for the TD on that 4th and goal from the ~18, instead of kicking a field goal?

No, they should have gone for a TD on fourth and goal from the four on the drive prior. The drive that ended with 11:56 to go. A field goal was basically worthless at that point. That is especially true when you consider the amount of time the Bears offense burned up on their last third quarter drive (13:34). Imagine that Reid kicks the FG, and the defense gives up another 6-7 minute drive. The game is absolutely out of reach at that point. There was still a lot of time left, but down 31-13 in the fourth quarter, a FG is no good to your team.

I don't know what was worse, kicking a FG down 15 with less than five minutes to go, or calling a timeout on 3rd and 19 to prevent a delay of game penalty, then running a draw. Also Steve Johnson is my new favourite player. Not going for it on 4th and goal from the 19 was not as bad as not going for it from 4th and goal from the fucking 2, at worst you've pinned your opponent on their 2 yard line calling timeout on the 3rd and 19 was also pretty terribad

HEY EVERYONE, THE 49ERS ARE ON TONIGHT!!!!!!!! I probably just blew my shot at playoffs in one league by dropping a 45pt dud at the worst time... my only shot now in that league is tie breaker, so I've gotta hope that two above me lose out.

He didn't look THAT hurt though judging by the shots of him on the sideline. I mean they don't have a respected running game and his offensive weapons outside of Wayne isn't that great. Eventually, defenses are going to figure you out, even if you're Peyton.

Edge was nothing more than a decently good back without Peyton. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Is-James-Harrison-being-unfairly-profiled-for-da?urn=nfl-290076 James Harrison is getting fucked so hard this year by refs. And this league is turning fucking soft.
