That is great with Millen.
I don't understand why he's allowed near a mic. Same with Mike Millbury in the NHL. It would be one thing if they kept them as color guys for being charismatic or something. But the broadcast companies keep them on as analysts. Two of the worst fucking GMs in the history of sport are kept on to analyze play calls, decisions and the like. What the fuck.
Also, Philip Rivers has a 2 foot dong. That game was lame. But he is good.
Crunch time for fantasy folks!!! How are you guys doing in your leagues??
I'm a game back on the last playoff spot in one but I think I'll make it with the highest scoring team. It just really hurts that my #2 back is fucking Marshawn Lynch... though I'm deep at WR so the flex covers. Next league, I have at least the last spot locked down barring a total collapse.
The TL league is real tight. I've been on a 5 game W streak and I'm now in 3rd, but two games separate me from 9th. No real one team dominates in that league

Mike Williams pulled over for alleged DUI, passes the breathalyser and passes the urine test, but the the Buccs are fining him anyway?
I think you can be found to be DUI even if you're below the legal limit if the police believes that you are too impaired to drive. From the reports I saw, the guy was weaving in traffic.

I'm 3-8 because I've had an average of 96.1 points scored on me per week. League average is 85 points scored a week. I don't know how many weeks I've lost by <15 points... pretty much every week. Wheee.
My only consolation is the punk who talks a lot of smack and started off 5-0 (because he had the easiest opponents... yet again) probably isn't going to make the playoffs, because his luck evened out and he's lost 5 straight, including one to me. :D

I'm falling off in the TL league, but I think I still have a shot at the playoffs.
In my normal league I'm on a 7 game streak, sitting at 8-3, top of my division, tied for best record in the league (technically own it because I beat the other guy with the same record). One more win and I pretty much lock up my division, and a third consecutive playoff berth. If Vick continues the way he has, I'll be in the Super Bowl, no doubt. If he starts to falter (like he did vs NYG two nights ago), I could be in a lot of trouble. Still, I have a lot of talent at each position, enough that any one of my guys could go for 30+ any week. This is the best I've ever felt around playoff time in this league. AND to top it off, I just put down my FF nemesis. I was 0-3 going into this week's game vs him, and I lucked out because Gates was hurt and couldn't score on me, and McMichaels did shit. 95-88. It's good to be me right now.
Also, thought that you might like this bit of news. I just read that Vick is barred from owning animals, and it didn't give a time limit, so I assume forever.

9-2 in my league with two games to go, I have a two-game lead over #2 so I've clinched playoffs (I think?) as the other people are all 6-5... had a 33 point lead going into MNF and Rivers put up 31.
<friend> (Nov 22 11:59 PM): epic <guy i beat> (Nov 23 12:16 AM): This. Is. Fucking. Bullshit.
Not bad for a guy who came into the season with Lesean McCoy as his only RB, Steve Smith (Car) as a kept WR, drafted Forsett in first round, lost Romuh for the season and his theoretically #1 player (Andre) is failing :p

You've got to love good luck, huh?
Okay, so Tony Homo should be back in time for the playoffs, and he's available right now in my league. I have four QB's, but at least two are probably expendable (Troy Smith and Brett Favre). Is he worth grabbing? I also have two kickers due to a bye; I wasn't about to drop Janikowski, he's been money all year.. he's actually averaging more points than the majority of my players. So I could go with 5 QB's, but I don't think that's worthwhile.
I could grab Rob Gronkowski at TE, too, but I don't feel like he's really worth a whole lot. Pettigrew will be my TE from here on out, most likely. I don't see a game that I'd play Rob over Pettigrew.
Of course no one worth while is available at HB or WR at this point. I wish like hell I would have made a couple of moves earlier in the season (how nice it'd be to have Hillis, Goodson, or Fred Jackson right now... I did go after Jackson at least). It'd also be sick to have Lloyd at WR. Lloyd + Steve Johnson would be too sick this year. I am really happy I grabbed Johnson after his first hot week. I also got Vick, the #1 WW pickup of the year, imo.

7-4 here, I'm expected to make the playoffs.
I'm tempted to trade Bradshaw away before the deadline (I already have AP/McFadden) for a good QB for the playoffs, like Orton. Thoughts? (I currently have Schaub and Manning, who blow comparatively).

Eli or Peyton? I don't see any reason to hold onto Bradshaw with the two you have, unless you start 3 HB or a Flex player.

Eli, of course.
The format is HB/HB/Flex/WR/WR and most weeks I start the three HB's. However with Holmes starting to pick up I feel pretty comfortable playing a WR flex every week now on.

9-2, lost two in a row since I clinched playoffs and am just building a team for playoffs now. I actually woulda won this week if I just kept Matt Bryant and started him instead of dropping him to pick up Sidney Rice. Oh well though, doesn't matter. Too bad two of my QBs got hurt this week (Colt McCoy and Vince Young). Gotta drop VY... Not sure if I trust Rusty Smith. Picking up Tyler Thigpen for sure if no one takes him.

I started 2-3, am now #2 and 8-3 after a 6 game run. My draft wasn't really great, but so far I've done pretty well picking up FA players. Also I've been lucky - lowest points against in the league. On the other hand, I think I deserve some luck, since over the course of the season I've lost Jeff Reed, Mike Nugent, Matt Moore (okay, not such a loss), Dallas Clark, and DeAngelo Williams to injury (okay, Reed was cut). At least I could get rid of them. :/
|
My real choices will be between choosing Matt Ryan or Big Ben week to week. Nicks got hurt so now I have to play Garcon until Nicks can come back (hopefully he does before it's too late for me). Hopefully CJ starts getting into the endzone and same with Jamal Charles.

RB will always get carries. A WR could go a whole game and get just two passes his way. Always my stance there, esp with someone running as well as Bradshaw has been all season really. Unless you can go from Eli/Schaub to Peyton or some other Top 5'er, or you start two QBs, no, I wouldn't do it.
BTW, your commish sucks if there is trades that late

I would not make that trade, then. Your upgrade at QB isn't that drastic, imo. Eli is a solid fantasy starter. Schaub is a huge disappointment this season, though.
I just read this on my fantasy site
Tomlinson: Sanchez was 'main reason' I picked Jets I'm not sure if you can see that without an account.
Anyway, could he be more full of shit? He didn't go to the Vikings because there's no way he'd ever wrestle a starting position from AP. He wouldn't see much playing time at all, probably. The QB position being up in the air in Minny probably played a role in his decision, but he makes it seem as if playing with Sanchez was a big deal to him, and I highly doubt that's the truth.

Yeah, there's too much risk for league rigging in redraft leagues.

Yeah, I'm not buying that too much either. The dude would have gone to NYJ if Ray Fucking Lucas was still under center as long as that line was there. That line owns so hard.
But while we're on Sanchez, fuck did he look good the other day. Especially in that final drive. Those two throws were absolutely beautiful. I was annoyed last year at the cocksucking he got non stop despite being statistically on par with Jamarcus Russell... but the dude has made some huge strides. He showed it in flashes last year, but he's got a good head on his shoulders. I don't think he'll ever be a great QB, but he'll be a damn good one, esp with a team like that around him.

I still lean toward your earlier description of him as a "mediocre QB behind a great line, and a great defense." I think that's what you said. He'll be a bit better than mediocre... better than Trent Dilfer or Brad Johnson type-guys, but he'll never be at a really high level.
|
Ugh... Trent Dilfer. It's amazing how much confidence a super bowl win can give a man.
