Also, hells yeah: Yesterday, the peak concurrent user number on the Russian server reached a whopping 74,536. Wargaming.net is calling this a new world record for the maximum number of users playing concurrently on the same game server. In the past, CCP Games has claimed a world record for EVE Online based on the peak concurrent users in a single game universe without the use of sharding or instancing. Although 74,536 beats EVE's latest personal record of 60,453, it's known that Second Life broke the 75,000 barrier in 2008 and peaked at just under 90,000 concurrent users in the same game universe the following year. If World of Tanks keeps growing at the rate it is, however, it seems set to eventually top that total and potentially secure a world record of its own. Source | ||

It balances out though and I don't think I lost money so far. The research path is extremely stupid though. The stock gun is a shitty tier5 or something 75mm and you have to buy both new tracks AND new turret to be able to mount the OLD long 88 (best Panther 1 gun) when for the t54 for instance you get a BETTER gun than the best gun of t44 as stock gun. Anyway, once you grind those ~50k xp to get the long 88 it becomes playable. Prior to that you're useless, considering you're matched against very high tier opponents. Once you grind the additional 60k xp to get the 105mm, it becomes actually really awesome. :D Panther 2 has become my favorite tank to play at the moment. You're fast (55 km/h top speed with pretty good acceleration), you have a lot of HP (1800), and a freaking awesome gun (in my opinion the best medium gun in the game as was long 88 before the arrival of t9 meds) : 7 rof, 220 pen, .3 accuracy and freaking 390dmg per shot. It's literally almost as good as any t9 heavy gun. With 3 more shots per minute. So yeah, I can solo t8 heavies without any problem and kill t9 heavies easily (I can actually solo 4502s as they can't turn their turret fast enough to get me if I turn around them at close range and kill him like that if he doesn't get any support). T10 heavies are also killable, especially is7s who have shitty side and rear armor. Mauses ding a little more often but it's fine too. Anyway, yeah, it's worth the grind in my opinion. So far T9 meds have proven to be really good tanks. | ||
