I hope to see some hilarious videos from the poor fellows that built a house out of wood planks, though. "Use flint to relight my torches? No prob- OMG MISCLICK, MY HOUSE IS BURNING!! FUUUU" Fortunately I built my base into the side of a mountain with water in front of it. So I just have to worry about a shit ton of monsters spawning inside while I relight it, heh. A clock/watch will be wonderful to have, given how often much time you can spend underground while playing Minecraft. I've walked outside multiple times in hopes of hunting some creepers for gunpowder only to find it was early morning. | ||

His development blog is here --> http://notch.tumblr.com/ Obviously I'm speculating about what lanterns will be made out of. Edit: Poked around the minecraft forums, apparently notch posted on his twitter (that I don't read) that existing, placed torches will automatically be turned into lanterns so no need to relight your base. Or rather some distraught fanboy begged for that to happen and got a simple "yes" from Notch. | ||

I only enjoy SMP but there are barely any features in SMP. Playing alone just makes me want to crawl up in a ball and cry. | ||

Playing alone just makes me want to crawl up in a ball and cry. I'm not a very artistic person/builder, and building random shit is basically all you can do in SMP right now. With no enemies to fight and being unable to take damage... there's no challenge. So single player can be used to test ideas for when they're available in multiplayer (like making sure you can build a proper monster trap instead of a ton of trial and error in multiplayer). Once more stuff gets implemented in multiplayer its allure will be stronger. | ||
