I pretty much just dislike ball hogs ![]() User was warned for this post I don't know which world cup you were watching because he's actually very unselfish.

Ozil has been one of the more impressive people at the WC but he lost a bit of steam near the end. The game Diuqil is talking about is when Ozil was in the box and he took a few too many touches and lost the ball when he could of shot or passed but other than that slip up he seemed great overall.

A TL of football, if you will? The extent of my knowledge is pretty much Wikipediaing some teams/league formats lol Hey! I guess the best way I can help you is to tell you my story. I started following the sport heavily after the 2006 world cup. I was interested to see how the USA would do in 2010, what new players they would get, how the younger players would develop, etc. So I started following all of the Americans that were playing abroad. At the time, a number of Americans were playing for Fulham, a team in the English Premier League. So naturally, I started cheering for Fulham, and watching all of their games. You can do the same. Here is a long list of all Canadian players and their teams playing outside of Canada. (I think it's up to date). + Show Spoiler + Belgian Juliper Mike Klukowski - Club Brugge K.V. They just resigned a Canadian winger/striker David Holiett for 2 years. He is only 20 and has yet to play a game for Canada, but will likely play a strong role in their future. You can also keep tabs on other Canadians playing in their games through these huge Canadian soccer forums. I just found them on the internet, but they look pretty active. http://www.cansoc.org/forumdisplay.php?30-Men-s-National-Teams-amp-Players&s=64c29cd018eb2f8e4ccf005d0a501bbb There they have a weekly thread for Canadian players abroad where they follow their games. In addition, you can cheer for Canadian teams playing in the MLS. It is a step lower in quality compared to the EPL, La Liga etc, but there is more of a community feel towards the game. I'm not sure where you live in Canada, but Toronto already has a team in the MLS. In 2011 Vancouver will get a team, and in 2012 Montreal will add a team. Football/Soccer forums on the internet are pretty fragmented. There isn't really a global forum anywhere. Bigsoccer.com is great for USA/Mexico fans. The forums I linked look excellent for Canadian fans. Club teams each have their own forums. ATDHE.net usually has streams up for all major teams/games. Good luck and happy watching!

Inter Milan won the Scuddeto, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League last year becoming the first team in the history of Italian football to complete the feat . So it’s fair to say that most Nerazurri fans would believe their team to be the one to beat this season not just in Italy but in Europe as well. However the world got to watch Barcelona this summer win the World Cup sure there was some help from Real Madrid but 7 of the 11 starters in the World Cup final will be in Barcelona colors this upcoming season that says it all in my opinion. So here’s the list, I’m biased by the way like any real fan should be but I tried to be as objective as possible except when it comes to Man U. 1. Barcelona + Show Spoiler + They lost in the champion’s league to a very good Inter Milan team, that was led by arguably the best coach on the planet and more on him later. Apart from that Barca looked as strong as ever winning 4 out of a possible 6 titles including La Liga which they won by attaining a record 99 points, they won 31 out of a possible 38 games and had a +74 goal differential. Messi led the onslaught scoring a league high 34 goals to tie the record set by the great Ronaldo for the most in club history. He was so good that he almost made everyone forget what a bust Ibrahimovic turned out to be. So what does Barca do? They go and get arguably the best player from the 2010 World Cup in David Villa, if Ibrahimovic ends up going to Man City as rumours suggest, no one will miss him but a part of me just wants to see how he and Villa would play together but you also have to wonder if there’s room for two strikers on a team with so many great midfielders. Barca also lost the great holding midfielder Yaya Toure to Man City but they are looking into replacing him with Mascherano from Inter. The Blaugranes will have plenty to cheer for and to sum it all up this is the team to beat in all competitions this upcoming season. 2.Real Madrid + Show Spoiler + They always has a great team on paper but once again they go through a whole season without acquiring any silverware so how on earth can I justify a number 2 spot? Well I mentioned above how the 99 points Barca amassed were the highest ever in the history of La Liga well the 2nd highest total ever was 96 points, by Real Madrid last season which would have been good enough for first place in any year but last year. Last year Madrid splashed around cash like never before and got the likes of Kaka and Ronaldo and while they have had a quiet off season thus far, here are some of the names on their hit list; Ashley Cole, Maicon, Vidic, Ribery, Tevez, Rooney, Lampard, Evra and Glen Johnson. Now landing just a couple of those players would make any club happy but the most important acquisition is already in Madrid, planning and scheming for he is the self proclaimed “special one.” Mourinho moves from Inter Milan where if you have read the intro he has won everything that was possible last season and now he moves to the most prestigious club in the world in an attempt to restore its greatness. He showed everyone in the champions league semis how to neutralize the best footballer in the world but will he be able to do so again with the pieces he has in Madrid? Time will tell but one thing is for sure Los Blancos is once again the team and La Liga is the league to follow this season 3.Inter Milan + Show Spoiler + The Scudetto was the 5th I repeat 5th straight for the club which makes them clearly the team to beat, in Italy at least. So you win every competition you enter and get rewarded with the third spot? Call me crazy but Inter before Mourinho would always fall short in Europe and it was he who came in and put them over the top, he’s no longer there so I have my doubts to how his replacement Benitez who’s another big name in the football world will manage the side. He has won the champions league at Liverpool, although anyone who remembers that game it was gifted to them by Milan but regardless such an accomplishment signifies that you have the ability to manage the best players in the world. The question is going to be how much of a tactical change Benitez chooses to implement and you know he will because these guys survive on ego and the other question will be how his players respond. If the players don’t buy in 100% into his new system there will be problems and with guys like Balotelli on the club we will find out about it in no time. It will be hard for them to duplicate last season but with the change at the top it will certainly make for an interesting year. 4. Chelsea + Show Spoiler + After failing to win the EPL and losing to Barca once again in Europe the Blues brought in the great Carletto after the failed experiment that was Scolari, he took over from temporary boss Hiddink and Chelsea fans probably have to be satisfied with his first season at the helm. He did manage to win the EPL in his first full season ending Man U’s run of 3 straight premier league titles. Like in previous years Chelsea would once again run into the eventual winners of the Champions league this time it was Inter Milan. I think though this could be the year, that they finally win it, it will depend how the rest of this transfer season plays out though, it’s no secret that the teams above have gotten stronger and Chelsea will have to splash some cash to keep up but if anyone can afford to do that its Abramovich. So far Ballack is the only one who has moved on but rumours are swirling around Joe Cole and Ashley Cole shipping out as well, those would be far bigger blows, as for those who may move to Stamford Bridge the likes of Ribery, Schweinsteigger, Dzeko and Ibrahimovic are floating out there. If they can get a couple of those guys to help Ancelotti then he should be able to put together a winning side. 5. Manchester United + Show Spoiler + So I remember having this debate several months ago about this Wayne Rooney guy who some kids somehow were comparing to Messi. I think this debate has been settled. As far as your team goes I don’t really care too much I only cheer when Man U loses a big player to transfer, oh how I love that. Like C. Ronaldo I could never appreciate him as a player just because he played for such a shitty club once he made that move I did a complete 180 on him. Its the same for when they acquire guys I start to develop hate for them so please don’t let these spoiled fucks get the likes of Ribery, Lahm, Ozil and Sneijder those are just a few of the names floating around. In any event as much as I hate them they will be good once again but just not good enough to win. Ill have the bottom 5 tomorow.

Real Madrid is definitely going to be interesting this year as if they aren't enough already. It's a bit bold to put them at #2 since games aren't won on paper but with Jose he's just going to win anything. If Inter can retain the CL i'll be in shock no matter who they buy. Chelsea players that have left are Ballack , Joe Cole, Belleti so far. Deco is going to hopefully leave soon. We aren't linked with Ribery, Dzeko nor Ibra. Chelsea are linked strongly with Aguero, Lukaku, Ancelotti supposedly wants to try Balotelli and a few others who isn't strongly linked with Chelsea. If Rooney can't get back into his goal scoring form then Man U are going to be in for a rough ride but i'm sure Fergie will find a way to get things back on track.

![]() if you pick an english team, i would pick a team to support in europe, either in the europa league or champions league. alternatively, you can support a team lower in the table, and pick a team to support in the champions league. bbc motd is a program that comes out after every matchday, and it has highlights of all the matches with bbc commentators. the punditry is pretty basic, but the highlights are cut and edited professionally. you can download it off any public tracker or football site, definitely must watch. another important thing to understand when you start watching english football is where the teams are located, and the local rivalries: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010–11_Premier_League#Teams the three biggest local matchups are everton/liverpool(merseyside derby), city/united(manchester derby) and tottenham/arsenal(north london derby). those matches are always good and have produced probably the top 3 or 4 best games in the last 2 years. a lot of sites on the internet for football are shit, for proper analysis read these two sites/blogs: http://www.zonalmarking.net -- does previews and recaps of every single major game in europe http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/jonathanwilson -- writes about trends in football, probably the best football writer in the english world re arsenalgunners: until barcelona learns to break world class defensive teams down, i don't think they are favourites in the champions league. imo they were very lucky to have beat chelsea in 2008, and obviously lost to inter last season. with david villa and fabregas(possibly), they might have the ability to break them down, but until they prove themselves, there will always be that question mark. obviously much of the spanish team was made up of barcelona players, and they'll have messi when they go back to club form, but don't underestimate the importance of xavi alonso and, particularly, sergio ramos. they were both massive, especially in the semi finals. sergio ramos provides that quality down the wing that barcelona severely lacked versus inter last season(seriously how many awful crosses can dani alves make in one game) i think mourinho is going to have a horrible time in madrid, the press is going to expect him to beat barcelona without playing defensive. this is only from what i've read though, maybe someone spanish can provide some insight into what the madrid press will expect from mourinho.
