Time for a new thread soon.

The preseason training and the such are starting for Winter half of the 2011-2012 season. Only the Copa America and woman's world cup are keeping this alive and the Women's world cup isn't at all related to club football.

For some reason, I knew that after hearing she was England's Captain that she'd John Terry it. And she did. Even with the tears.

The swedish ladies smashed Australia today and have a really good shot at reaching the final now (still dumbfounded by how Japan managed to knock out Germany with home advantage and all).

Nice to see the Japanese women punch above their weight like the Japanese men did. Grats to them. And yeah - nice to see the England women flatter to deceive like the men do, too.

Huge matchfixing scandal in the Korean domestic leagues...BW and football now, this is bad. It's becoming prevalent in SK

Oh yeah, there has also been a huge matchfixing scandal in Turkey very similar to Calciopoli in 2006. Fenerbahçe might be stripped of the title and relegated like Juventus were if they are found guilty of fixing matches in their run-up to winning the title.

Which gap is bigger, NA soccer vs. Europe/Latin America, or Western SC2 vs. Korean SC2?

The former. But when it's international teams rather than club teams, the gap isn't as big on the whole

Probably the soccer gap. Though it always seems like it's the best European teams that play against American teams. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the better MLS teams could compete with European teams that are in the mid/low tiers of their respective leagues.

Then again I may be biased as somebody who actually follows MLS. Go Sounders!
It's easier not to.

I remember that GAIS, a relatively bad team in the swedish football league (which is ranked 23 or something in Europe), went over and beat one of the top teams in MLS a couple of years ago as a part of their pre-season training. And the top teams from Sweden can't even make it into Europa League. So ya...

A Polish striker in the mls that hardly could score came to the Polish league and became the top goal scorer for last season. Go figure. :p
These sites might be of more use than a StarCraft site, where the majority of posters look on WCIII as the dense misformed fetus produced during Blizzards latest miscarrige.

Heh well like I said I am a little biased. Sounders have a game vs Man U on wednesday and I fully expect them to get crushed even though they are playing the best of any MLS team at the moment.

Anyway, not being among the best in the world doesn't stop people in the Northwest US from supporting their teams. Unlike the most of the MLS, Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver routinely sell out their home games.
It's easier not to.

United is playing the MLS All Stars end of July, but they no longer have the star power like Madrid...can't wait for Barca's U.S. tour!

As Long as Hartlepool end up in the top half of the table or better this season I'm pretty much happy.

I just went to a Manchester United event in Chicago. I got my Manchester United Home Kit 2011-2012 signed by Jonny Evans, Chris Smalling and David De Gea.

I'm still in shock.

Also David De Gea and Jonny Evans are so pretty in real life. It's unbelievable.

@hubwub Wow! I'm no ManUtd fan myself, but I'd love to meet them as well. I'm insanely jealous of you. My friend is going to see the United - Barcelona preseason match in DC later this summer as well which makes me all the more jealous.
