How do you avoid getting hit by Rakanoth's teleport attack?

Yea, I found one, but high vit would be the best. I'd say str/dex over int since follower damage is pitiful anyways, and triple stats = higher armor/dodge which helps them live longer:

It has a pretty long wind up animation. If its killing you, learn to recognize it and save a Smokescreen or whatever for when he's starts it. What class are you struggling to beat him with? I'm just assuming DH because that one seems to be the one with the most trouble with Rak.

Hi, i just recently got back into the game after not playing too much to begin with. Since coming back i have gotten 1 character to level 60. A friend told me that much like in d2, you can glitch rush your way past normal means of leveling your character and then proceed to level in the best area for experience.
I was just wondering how i could get my next d3 character up to hell mode so that i can just do exp runs somewhere effective and not worry about going through the whole story again.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks~

Get your friend to run you. Pay him if he wants it and it's worth it to you.
Usual runs are:
Keeps 2 Rakkis backwards Fields of Slaughter Crater 1 & 2 Core Azmo
Normal runs til 25 Nightmare 25-50 Hell 50-60
Non stop 0-60 you're probably looking at around 5-6 hours with a decent runner and decent exp gear on your char (cain's set with star ruby or greater in the helm).
Can't help with the solo leveling techniques unfortunately.

don't forget to set mp 10
40-60 took about an hour when i was leeching my friend (hellfire, radiant star ruby, mp10)

Hey guys, I started playing again after a long break. I'm finishing Nightmare at the moment (level 45 monk), what is your suggestion on monster power? SHould I activate it in Abyss or first finish Inferno and then start thinking about that stuff? Thanks

i´d just test it out if switching MP1-3 on will severely slow down your kill speed, and if it doesn´t slow you down, start with it right now and enjoy bonus exp.

With 3pc Cain and a Star Ruby in the helm you can just speed run solo with cheap AH gear and hit the min level to unlock the next level diff by Act 3. No need to get carried and a simple -18 lvl req weapon will blast you thru to inferno. Using the above strat on my last 60 WD I almost hit plvl1 before unlocking inferno.
Edit : sprelling

I did that today :p. Thought I try the game again after a month or so of no play. Getting the keys on MP5 was np but then I got ghom and rakanoth and just one shot from rakanoth all the time. Guess coming back was bad idea ^^ Or maybe playing on MP5 was a bad idea. Maybe I wanted a decent chance to get anything. Magdha and skeleton king would have been np I guess. Anyway its retarded that I lost my infernal machine now. Sounds like you just had one infernal machine? Play w/ friends so you have more chances at keys and then open all 3 portals in one game. I certainly wouldn't want to do ghom/rakanoth solo on a decent mp, but yeah in all our groups over the weekend magdha/sk gave us the most problems, but ghom/rak wasn't too far behind. In a group sb/zk is by far the easiest, whoever has aggro from sb can kite him around in a circle while the other ppl kill zk.

Do you always run with a lvl 60 character? Doesnt it diminish the xp you get greatly? (this is something ive actually been wondering for AGES)

Here are the new damage values that will be hotfixed in for each MP setting:
MP1: 109.60% (down from 114%) MP2: 120.12% (down from 130%) MP3: 131.65% (down from 148%) MP4: 144.29% (down from 169%) MP5: 158.14% (down from 193%) MP6: 173.32% (down from 220%) MP7: 189.96% (down from 250%) MP8: 208.20% (down from 285%) MP9: 228.18% (down from 325%) MP10: 250.09% (down from 371%)
Please note that these changes will only apply to monster damage in Inferno difficulty. Monsters in Normal, Nightmare, and Hell will be unaffected and continue to use their current values.
I thought the damage was fine, made for a good goal at the end. If you're in MP7 now, move up to MP10 after the fix!

Is there a new cap for max magic find? Last I remember was ~390% but I hit 400+ on my character display sheet.
|
Monster power adds to your magic find. On mp 0 with no stacks of nv your max mf is 300. NV and mp add to that so 375 with 5 stacks + whatever mp bonus you get.

I don't know when the usual maintenance is for EU but it should happen at that time I'd imagine.

There is no penalty to you for being in a game with a lvl 60. The lvl 60 character won't be getting any xp, but as long as you are close to them when they are doing the killing you will get the full benefit of the XP.

I've gotten leveled and done leveling doing this. It is much much faster than playing it solo and it's probably many times faster now with the introduction of monster power. Running with a lvl 60 char doesn't hurt the person being run, you get xp at an alarming rate just because of how fast the runner is able to clear content.
