Mmm, I get the feeling that it's the large number of players together with the ease to trade with everyone else through the AH that devalues everything you find. There are many thousand of players out there farming item to sell to you, what are the chances that you will find something better yourself? It's the same discussion that we had in the "1 good rare in 1000" thread, and that has been going on essentially since release. And I still don't think that anyone has come up with a good solution that would last for more than a few weeks.
Somehow I get the feeling that the game got too popular, and the trading got too user friendly for it's own good.

Question for the players running around with MF gear on.
Are you gearing to have decent gear with lots of MF or are you gearing to have awesome gear with decent MF?
I haven't played since 1.03 - and I have an MF gear set to switch when needed. But as I understand it now, many are using a main set of gear with MF on it.. :| Kind of confused what I should be doing now!

I still don't know for sure, but all indications point that way. This may mean it's possible to roll >3% lifesteal.
If anyone knows for sure, or can point me towards information that would indicate otherwise, I would still be very glad to hear it.

No, unless they introduce a new 3d model or at least copy paste one to be ilvl 63. All class specific items like m.belts s.stones, cloaks, wiz hats, etc cap out at 62. But with affixes rolling in 1.05, they will roll to 63 anyways ... but in life steal's case even 1 h weapons cap out at 3% so don't bet on iLvL 63 rolling higher.
|
I edited my post slightly for clarity. I know the items themselves will only reach i62, but they can ROLL up to i63 come next patch. This means we should be getting mighty belts with more strength/vit/AR etc. The lifesteal question is still up in the air, as I can't find anyone who knows either way.
The frustrating thing is that anyone on PTR could tell me in <5 seconds :| If anyone here IS on PTR, can you please please please just search for belts with 3.1% lifesteal and tell me if there are any results? TY

For those curious as to what iLvL 63 affixes on any MP1+ jewelry will mean: and why you should sell anything über now...
Ring ias - up to Assailing tier 2 (10-11%) loh - up to Mangling (479) crit- up to Flaying helm/bracer cap (6%) crit Damage - up to Merciless (35-50%) MF - up to Seeking tier 2 (19-20%) GF - up to Prosperous tier 2 (21-25%)
Amulet ias - up to Assailing tier 2 (10-11%) loh - up to weapon cap (959) crit- up to Flaying glove cap (10%) crit Damage - up to Merciless (66-100%) MF - up to Seeking tier 2 (41-45%) GF - up to Prosperous tier 2 (41-50%)
This also means all current AND future legendary jewelry will NOT be as good as a rare, so as with every patch... Sell now! Heh

legendary jewelry can roll new mods. so a nat ring for example can roll 6 crits as one of its random mods.

Wrong. Don't just make shit up and hope its true. Yes PTRs can and will change before release but do a little research :-D

It would have been nice if all these crappy iLvL 58-62 legendaries could roll 63 affixes but no, that won't happen. Nor will crafting from the BS or vendor items. But pots and chests will all drop 63 affix items! Woo

Isn't drawing conclusions without any solid evidence the definition of making stuff up? The blue posts are just refuting rumors.

I have reason to believe MF is broken after 330 or so. I was getting 5-6 a day up until paragon 80, so far I've found about only 20 from level 80 - 96 which is like, a bajillion runs with over 350 mf.

but yea i kind of didn't realize the implication for low level legendaries being able to roll lvl63 mods. i thought rings and stuff might be different but apparently nop.

Then they'd have to add ________ [Legacy x2] heh

You want to pretend that it's a Morton's Fork situation, but years of history disagree with you.

As I said above, I think the problem is the large number of players, and that a large fraction use the auction house regularly. So with many thousands of people trying to sell their loot to you, it is not likely that your drops will be any good in comparison. I think we can agree that without the auction house, there would be a lot less complaints about the "crap drops".

no, no other ARPG uses an AH becuase it defeats the purpose of playing the game...
