I've drifted away from a lot of my online friends over the last year, since we've all quit WoW, some have gotten themselves girlfriends (gasp!), everyone's growing up, getting jobs, getting more responsibilities and blah, blah, blah. At this moment it seems to be a unanimous agreement that Diablo 3 is what's going to get us all back together and playing again.

I love seeing amazons and barbs teleport around at 200fcr Personally I'm going to miss equipment with "oskills" (Engima which gave teleport to any class... there was even a sword a sorceress could use that gave zeal, assassin claws that gave whirlwind, and some helmet that gave shapeshift), I remember reading in a twitter post that oskills aren't planned in D3 because they don't want characters to abuse abilities from other classes. I agree and disagree with "oskill" removal in D3 because: 1. "Disagree" because - Teleport was really the only real problematic "oskill" because teleport was just overpowered (not that I mind, I liked Engima >.>). It was fun trying something like a melee zeal enchantress sorceress or an assassin using whirlwind which is why I thought oskills were a good idea on equipment. It made trying to build runewords (or in general, acquiring loot) more satisfying [once you obtain the item anyway] because you don't just improve your stats but you get a fancy new skill too! (Though the rune drop rates were terrible until 1.13 [where it was improved significantly but still terrible]; most runes were duped). 2. "Potentially agree" because - Runes are different in D3 than in D2 (they equip to abilities and not items). Rune can modify skills dramatically so there may be all sorts of combinations where "oskills" aren't really needed because you already have dozens and dozens of unique skills. Anyway I guess we'll have to see.

![]() Speculation about release below... + Show Spoiler + Sorry if this is repost... On some web site, I saw interesting tip on release date. 30.11.2011 is anniversary of original Diablo I. And, more interestingly, look at this site. http://who.is/whois/diablo3.com/ Expiration date is...tadá! 30.11.2011 . I personally think it is still too soon, but it should be for example announcement of release, which would be kinda realistic. Another tip on announcement of release date is 29.6. = anniversary of D2 and LOD. What do you think?

Myself and some friends just started some new D2 characters to take our mind off of D3 for a bit. As for other game though, I say you said you played Oblivion, but if you have not played Morrowind yet, check it out. Many would argue that it is better than Oblivion, I am not sure whether it is or isn't. To me it is liking picking your favorite child. But I will say Morrowind has a lot more stuff to do in it, plus people are still creating addons and what not for it.

That video reminds me so much of crappy anime-style games where realism goes out the window and is instead replaced by...crap How is it any different then the assassin, who was a frail, retarded girl dressed in heavy metallic plate armor, who back flips and teleports around effortlessly, or the amazon who shoots seemingly endless volleys from her bows/crossbows/javelins. and are you trying to claim that when D2 came out paladins, barbarians, necromancers, amazons, druids, assassins, and sorceresses were all unique original ideas. I really think all the people that are calling this game trash and praising d2 are quite daft. 90% of the claims are just this game isn't as good as D2 when no one has even played it. If you wanna complain about something complain about features that are different, like the crafting system(the only feature that I know of that is actually substantially different) not some vague nebulous statement that the game is unoriginal (obvious hint, none of the diablo games were original, they all borrowed heavily from other sources)

Instead of the same loot dropping for all players when a monster dies (like in Diablo II), the monster drops loot for each player that only he or she can see and pickup. If a player picks up the item and drops it back on the ground, any other player can see it and pick it up. To me this kind of breaks some of the fun that I had with Diablo II.

I feel this is a positive change. The old loot system was fun until you ran into someone with an autoloot hack (which there will be in D3, also). I hope they implement it correctly, though. Like, if loot drops and someone doesn't pick it up after 60 seconds or so, it should turn public.
