Edit: Yeah I only played OU, nothing else seemed worth it in my eyes.

I would open Azelf who I consider the best starter by far, especially with explosion. After taking out the first pokemon, or with a little luck, 2 or 3, I would switch to Obamasnow and get my ice falling. Other than the autohail, Obamasnow isn't a very great pokemon, but I would try to camp with him using protect and switchouts all the while damaging the other team with my hail. I then transitions to either skarmory or blissey depending on the pokemon and this combination is quite strong and allows me to tank damage while the other team is getting hailed on (Always use leftovers). Depending on the composition I would need a late game sweeper so I used Mamoswine to bring the hurt and finish people off late game. And last but certainly not least is Walrein, the star of my team. The ice combined with leftovers, protect and substitute allows Walrein to turtle until his PP runs out (or players are smart and change the weather). I can usually use him to kill 1 or 2 people and sweep with surf if needed. I love that walrus because he's so goddamn goofy looking. So that's my team that got me to 1400 on Shoddy battle's OU. The counters I had the most trouble with were sand teams because that kind ruins your ice advantage (and nullifies walrein) and teams that were heavy on sweepers (Gyarados was a big problem for me and I would have to lucky with Obamasnow, same thing for salmence. Cresselia was also a pain in the ass to deal with as she can sometimes out-turtle you. So that's my build, give a try if you want. It's not perfect by any means, but I don't think there is a perfect pokemon team. A lot of this game is luck, but the heart of the game is crafting a team you like and thing is special and/or unique. Many people don't give Walrein enough love but he's more than viable on shoddy. *Also I know it's Abomasnow, but Obamasnow is just more awesome.

Hahaha if you're the one who uses Obamasnow, then I've played you before. I think you rage quit against my choice team under the screenname SweetTea. Specs Azelf/Vap Scarf Gengar CB Scizor/Gross/Snorlax. EDIT: It's actually surprisingly effective on Shoddy. I'm holding at low 1400 CRE, and pretty much all I do is leave it running in the background while I browse the internet, and every once in a while attack. You won't believe how many blind Surfs I've launched with Vaporeon lol.

But yeah, I love using first gen pokemon but I was never able to make it work in the OU metagame. Maybe if I gave it a bit more time and thought I could do it.

I mean, you fight through 9347693872469 battles in the game, without losing a single one. Frequently Pokemon have 1-hit kill attacks. How do you even battle? Hey see for yourself in Shoddy Battle. its not the fucking RPG.

Stealth Rock single-handedly made me quit the scene this gen, so I hope they do something about it.

If Stealth Rock annoys you so much, carrying a spinner is likely a good investment Also, Nintendo doesn't care especially about the metagame, so I doubt Black/White will do anything to remedy any imbalances.
